Personally store is nice! It has the needed products for anime lovers but man oh man the customer service was ratchet. If you wanna have a condescending employer and manager this is the place to surely be looked down on. I'm not from here and tbh I wouldn't wanna go back if this is the type of service I'm gonna be getting every time. They only spoke in one word responses, weren't very friendly, and made the whole experience extremely awkward. I stopped in on Sunday after "small business Saturday" because Anime Kat was participating in a local promotion for customers that shopped that weekend. It is a decently sized store with gaming tables and they do take in used board and console games. The clerk was very helpful and I was told the owner handles game intake, so call ahead to make sure the owner is around. The coolest thing about my visit was the promo item was a handmade glass black cat bead. That was probably the neatest thing about my shopping trip that day! He placed a phone call and spoke with Drew, and was able to order the card to be shipped to our home. This is a great store that can fill all of your anime needs, plus Magic the Gathering and other gaming needs. There is a lot of room for gaming. The shop is really nice and neat. There are snacks available and reasonably priced. The anime collection, according to my son, is amazing. Hey, even I recognized various titles. They also can order things. Drew is an awesome resource. Don't be afraid to ask him anything. He also can teach you one of the card games. Check with him for the various tourneys and special events. read more

We had a great time at Anime Kat's this weekend. The store isn't overwhelming like a lot of game stores. The good but limited selection of games really helped us choose a game that would be fun for the weekend. Drew, the owner of the store, helped us pick out the game and play it as well. We had so much fun that we came back the next day for round two. The store has a ton of tables for table top gaming and it looks like they throw tournaments and events every week. It was nice to be able to buy a game an give it a test run in the store. The store also has a pretty big selection of Anime and Japanese snacks. Negatives - Zero customer service. Walked in and the trans person? at the counter didn't return my smile or say a word in greeting just stared at me like I didn't belong there or was going to steal something the whole time I was walking around in the store. I'm not a suspicious looking person. Never was asked if I needed help finding anything and didn't say anything when I left. Just really akward feeling being in there because of that person. Also, for the size of the store the selections were tiny! They need much more inventory. The inventory of manga and anime wasn't very clear on how it was organized so it was hard to look for a specific title. Among the manga we found a novel for her for the holidays and I was tempted to also grab her some Pocky or Ramune but I assumed she'd already had it all. If you are one of the "regulars" that show up to play magic weekly, I'm sure you are prioritized and welcomed. I have never been into a store, gamer or otherwise, that the service was so non existent. We walked in, we were not greeted, we walked around the store for five to ten minutes, we were not approached to see if we needed anything, and left without ever hearing a word from the person behind the counter. I'm not sure if the attractive woman I was with frightened or intimidated the person behind the counter, but in my 18 years of gaming I have never been completely ignored by a game store employee like I was at this store. I just moved to Port Angeles and was pleasantly surprised to find this store. It is very spacious which is nice. It is also clean and organized which makes almost all the difference in whether I would come back to a boardgame shop or not. I have been in twice so far and both times Drew has been very friendly and more than willing to answer all my questions. There are plenty of gaming tables and Anime Kat holds some sort of gaming every night. The game nights range from D&D/RPGs to boardgames to miniatures, and Magic The Gathering. Even then, Anime Kat would let you bring your own games anytime of the week for you to play them there. The only stipulation is that if there is a planned event starting and they need the space then Drew would ask you to move to a different table, which is no problem because there are plenty of them. As an example, this Friday Drew had a regularly scheduled MTG event, but my daughter and I still had room in the back table to play a match of DC Dice Masters. Oh yeah, and that's another thing, Anima Kat is very child friendly and makes it a point to say that the boardgame nights is all ages. read more

But even though this store is mainly anime, there is also, Magic The Gathering, Warhammer ( fantasy and 40K ), and a couple other games. The man who owns the shop is a great, friendly guy! I was looking for a good board game to play. I stopped into here to see what the selection was. It was very diverse. There was everything from Ants in the Pants to Settlers of Catan. I talked to the guy working for some suggestions. He asked me a few questions about what other games I like or hobbies I have. He suggested I try Last Night on Earth which is a zombie board game. He mentioned that the next day was a one of their board game nights, and I could bring it down with my husband and daughter and play here if we wanted too. He seemed very helpful and eager to see me leave happy with something I would enjoy. I like the fact that he emphasized that board game night is all ages.
