i am a legal guardian of two students who recently graduated from this school, these two students…read moresaid that the yearbook club is very selfish. there was a section in the yearbook for students who have traveled over the summer and these two students travel to multiple countries over the summer and they never got featured in the yearbook but students who travel six hours away in the same state did get a spot in the yearbook. These two students are also citizens in two different countries other than the United States of America and they did not get nominated for most likely to travel the world they also did not feature a section specifically for people who are not citizens of this country. the yearbook club is very closed minded when it came to international students they only featured students who have traveled countries for vacation over summer break but there were almost little to none students who actually got featured in the yearbook who are citizens of multiple countries. I personally find it a bit wrong to not feature these people and take the time to know abt their special stories. The students bought a yearbook only to not be featured at all in the sections that they were almost guaranteed to win. another thing that I find wrong about the school, is specific teachers way of teaching. I also know of many students that have complained about a specific teachers way of teaching, as he or she mainly talked them through showing a sheet of notes. However, nobody took action in the complaints and as a result of this lots of students failed this class. I think this should be an example that some teaching at the school should be more hands-on than it is at the moment.

I have been parking at the park just to avoid the chaotic mess of it, but because of the rain, I have started to come much early to wait in the drop-off and pick-up section. I have seen plenty skip the line and get in front of others including me when I go on the pick up drop off lane. As I recall, two lines are going in: one is for the drop off pick up section, and the other is to leave, yet people constantly cut the lines and block everyone from leaving. On top of that, I have a disability pass for parking, and I could never park there because people blocked me from leaving or block me from parking in. This is insane; you can't block disability parking lots and make people wait while you wait on your child. I work at a school and we always have teachers come out and switch days for monitoring the parking situation getting out of hand. The fact that nobody comes out and nobody is helping out with the situation goes to show that sooner or later there's going to be a car accident or a fight. If it's your first day here, do not park in the parking spots at all because you will not come out until school is well over 10 minutes ago.

Having toured several other schools, we were unable to find the right fit until we found CIS. Not only do they check off all of our boxes but they offer so much more than we could have ever asked for. In addition to providing a safe and secure environment, every staff member truly loves what they do and cares about each and every student. It is a home away from home and I know that each day that I leave my child in their hands, that she is more than well taken care of. They are extremely communicative and share classroom updates, school news and photos of my child each and every day. We love that it is project-based and a STEAM school as she has already learned so much! Additionally she is learning how to speak and write in Spanish and Mandarin! We absolutely LOVE her sweet teachers Mrs. Trujillo and Mrs. Alltop and couldn't be more grateful for this wonderful school and all the incredible people that work here!

There is a lot of modern technology, they even have robots. The staff is absolutely amazing! Everyone makes you feel at home. There is one class per grade which adds to the home like feeling since the school is small and more intimate. 1:8 ratio, each class has a total of 16 students and a teacher and educational assistant. So each child gets the attention they need. They also provide individual educational plans. The students learn BOTH Mandarin and Spanish. And they also offer global studies. It's project based learning so not a lot of homework and busy worksheet type work. I'm blown away with everything CIS has to offer my child! This school is everything I thought it would be! My child is thriving so much! And it feels like a real family here. I love how small and intimate it is. And I'm really looking forward to my child growing up with her classmates over the years. I highly recommend CIS to anyone that is looking for a unique school experience for their children. It's also a VERY safe environment. I never have to worry about my child which gives me so much peace of mind!
