Took two classes here during National Dance Week with discounted rates and enjoyed both of them!…read more One was Hip Hop on Monday at 7, the other was movement on Wednesday at 5:30. The instructors went out of their way to make everyone feel welcomed, respected, and comfortable, the facilities were beautiful and well maintained, and the prices are reasonable, even without the discount. There is no parking lot bur street parking was really easy both times I went. If I had one suggestion for improvement it's that I wish there was less time spent on talking and introductions during class, and more time spent learning choreography (a one hour class turned into maybe 40 minutes of dancing) but it does allow for a community to develop. I'll definitely be back! Thanks Dancing Grounds! Update: I did realize the classes were 75 min not 60, but still you should expect to be in a circle talking / introducing yourself / saying affirmations for the first few minutes which might throw you if you weren't prepared for it or are introverted!

Both classes were super fun! Also, the students, instructors, and staff are super friendly and welcoming. You can really feel the community aspect of this place. This is really a gem.

She was one of the dancers from the dance off in the movie. We did the Girls Trip NOLA dance class and loved it! Tam was prompt and professional. You can tell she loves what she does and she made it a lot of fun. I am definitely coming back to do this again!

At Passion Dance Center you're getting first rate instruction and hey you might even land yourself an opportunity in the next music video of a visiting music artist. Miss Tamika, the director, is well known and well connected in the dance industry. She's the link between learning dance and applying your talent. I won't even get into the yearly productions. Traditional dancing schools have recitals... well this isn't your traditional dancing school. Students at Passion Dance Center have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a production style showcase which features not only dancing but also musical acts, acting skits and more. Name another dancing school that does that in New Orleans! I can go on and on, but I'll let you be the judge. I definitely recommend signing up yourself or your kids. Anyone can join ages 2-Adult

I'm so happy to be out of here…read more The lack of communication is insane, the fact they are still in business is mind boggling, The owner is money hungry and it's only a business to her. I should have listened to all of the moms I spoke with before I put my daughter in this school. I was definitely warned multiple times to avoid this school. It's not a welcoming environment, it's cold, no communication and you can't watch or see your babies for the hour they are dancing. It's just for money, I do NOT recommend

I am a New Orleans transplant and had been researching dance schools for my 5 year old. Dancer's…read morePointe came highly recommended to me. I studied classic ballet, tap, and modern dance from the age of 3 until college on a non-professional level. My experience with Dancer's Pointe has been one of the worst I have ever experienced of any organization, in life, in general. One of my biggest qualms is their lack of communication. They send out monthly newsletters, which constantly lack very important details- details, which you either have to ask in person (because they do not respond to phone or email) or because you're well seasoned and have learned the drill by fumbling in the dark for too long and just know better next year. The owner and administrator seem scattered, stressed, incredibly unfriendly, harsh, and intensely focused on money at all times. Example- I went to pick up recital tickets after the rehearsal at the studio (bc I was already there) and was told that I needed to pay for the recital before picking up my tickets. I was not notified of this need to pay early, of course, and payment wasn't actually due until 6 days later. I didn't have a checkbook with me because I was unaware of this need to pay on the spot and so, I offered to pay through Venmo. (Keep in mind, this was not for a large sum; it was for only for $60!) The administrator left her office as I walked away and chased me down the hall, yelling at me, to make sure that I had sent the Venmo right then, which I had. The entire experience has just left me to feel really gross and dirty. So, I recently watched my daughter's dress rehearsal and was incredibly underwhelmed for the amount of money I have paid over the past year. I'm not sure if she has even learned the basic 5 positions in ballet, nor a simple shuffle, ball, change for tap. The performances for all of the classes were pretty underwhelming overall. The entire experience felt very frou-frou, very country bumpkin- Definitely not cultured, classic, creative, ...or worth it, ect. I'm happy to pay whatever it costs for my daughter to have a good experience and education, however, this was definitely not money well spent. Just my two cents!
