Staff- 12/10 Leslie and her team were so accommodating and awesome Experience 10/10 What an absolute awesome hidden gem!!! My buddies and I booked cabin 10 for a guys weekend, and took off from KC on a Friday. We spent the afternoon playing a round of golf over at Rolling Meadows (highly recommend a nice little country golf course). Then popped back over to the resort for a dinner down at the restaurant. We lucked out, as they had a live band playing that were surprisingly amazing, and accompanied our dinner perfectly. The gang was split across burgers, chicken sandwiches and whatnot. Nobody complained and I don't recall any left overs remaining! Friday night saw us sitting by a big fire outside the cabin, and watching some of the planes flying around from Fort Riley for the evening. Saturday was a bit of an early morning, as we went over to Acorn's Wild for an awesome pheasant hunt! We had four dogs, an amazing guide in Paul, and were off for hiking the fields for a half day. It was simply the best hunt any of us have ever gone on, and literally all of us have been talking about how fast we can get back out there again. They followed it up with a heck of a lunch spread (seriously, I gotta find those homemade cinnamon rolls), then we sadly packed it up and went back to KC for family obligations. Already day dreaming about our next escapee over. All of this and it's only 2.5 hours away from KC!

I bought the boat took it home and there was quite a bit of water came out when I removed the plug, I did not think much of it, I took the boat out the next day and it didn't run well and I noticed it was leaking. I text the man that sold the boat to me and he told me a few things to check I am not very savvy when it comes to that so I took it to the local service shop and was told that the manifold was cracked I ask them to replace it text the man that sold it to me again and he acted like he didn't know but he'd talk to his boss and see what they would do a week passed I text again and was told the same thing that he would talk to his boss. I got the boat back again ran terrible took it back to the local marine shop and was told that the person that sold it to me rigged it together and damaged the block so the motor is bad in the meantime I have been talked to very rude then ignored by the person that sold it to me have been ignored from the owner phone call text and email. I would urge anyone not to do business here buying a boat or having it serviced with the level of incompetency.

Clinton State Park is formidable. It's like Thanos, if Thanos was water and dirt. It's massive,…read morefilled with trees, and it is murky. The only time I've ever been stopped by water patrol while in my tiny boat has been on this lake. I saw him dartin' straight for me amongst a hoard of rich people in their fancy little shiny boats. Men drunk as the cow on Tuesday blaring there speaker systems that cost more than my boat, and this joker brought his $80,000 police boat right to my little inflatable tube. He checked me over, they were nice enough. I guess people do die on this lake if you're not responsibly careful enough. It's not a place to play around if you're not prepared for the worst. There are so many great secluded shelters strewn about this place, and the Clinton Park of it does require a $5 per day access fee I believe go check local updates. Per car mind you; and less in fact you paid for the state stamp with your yearly registration on your vehicle which I do. It's a good deal for $15 a year. The fishing however if you're a true fisherman is spectacular. Clinton has some of the best fishing in the country. It's not for the faint of heart however, and the surface is vast. I once drove across this lake on a boat going about 4 mph for half a day and didn't make it halfway across it. They have great sections where the bass fishing is amazing during certain periods of the year. It's a great place, and if you don't want to get out on the water you can go to the spillway which a lot of people do for fishing. Be safe.

Clinton Lake is a fantastic visit for those wanting to learn more about our state parks. What I…read morereally enjoyed about Clinton lake were the friendly people, the affordable stay, and the great clean environment. We took our vacation here and stared up at the sky with a telescope, went fishing, enjoyed the trails. All of these are available and easy to access. We went in an RV (a 24') and had an easy time getting service and having fun. Bathrooms are clean, showers are well maintained and have incredible, and I mean absolutely incredible water pressure. There are a few pieces of advice I would give before you attend. The trails are fantastic, but if you plan on going now you had better plan on taking with you PLENTY and I mean PLENTY of bug repellent. The trails are full of ticks and chiggers, and you will find your ankles and body well covered if you have not taken the right precautions. Don't walk trails where you aren't covered, and don't do things that will put you at risk.
