Hoping to take the GMAT by October, I signed up for the Full Online Live Course starting August 21st through September 28th. The classes are 3 hours long with an 8-minute break to help simulate what the GMAT breaks will feel like (so helpful day of). The first class serves as an introduction to what the GMAT is and the classes progress in difficulty as the lessons go on. For each class, you do skill-builders to prepare for the upcoming lessons - these really help prepare you to test out new strategies discussed that day. In terms of the class, we would go through various strategies for problem types and then do a lot of practice problems. What's great about the course structure is that it's live! This means that you can ask questions in real time and get answers straight from the teacher. In addition, the platform has multiple choice options so that you can not only submit your answer, but also see the percentage break down of what other people answered. The absolute highlight of the course was my teacher, Ethan Todras-Whitehill. From day one, his energy and passion for the GMAT made the 3-hour class fly by. He's incredibly smart and qualified, but very down-to-earth at the same time. He'd get to know each of his students and strove to help everyone understand the subject matter. In addition, he's hilarious, so even if you're learning Data Sufficiency, you will end up leaving class with a smile on your face. Once in a while, he'd check up on me to see how the course was going. Even after the course, he emailed to see how studying was coming along. Knowing that someone else was rooting for me really helped motivate me on test day. By far and away, the Veritas course is worth every penny. My GMAT score jumped 120 points and I gained important logical reasoning skills along the way. Learning how to think like the test maker made all the difference. Thanks Veritas! My daughter and I took this class in winter 2018 and LOVED it. My baby was about nine months old…read morewhen we started, so a little young to actually be signing, but it set the foundation for her first steps in communication. We loved our teach Wendy Auffant! She was always upbeat and had fun lessons which focused on relatable themes (animals, bath time, meal time..) They were all very practical signs, things we could start using right away. I especially liked how she used music to incorporate the signs into our routine. My husband and I found ourselves singing or humming the songs all afternoon which helped us learn them as well! The repetition and music helped our daughter as well. While taking the class, I loved seeing my daughter LEARN what communication was. I could see her brain working as she processed that I was saying a word, using a sign, and was trying to tell her something. It took several weeks but through that, she started trying to communicate back to me. I don't think I realized that babies have to learn first what communication IS and then how to respond. Now that my daughter is about fifteen months old, I am continually amazed at her use of signs and how it helps us communicate. I think we avoid a lot of frustration on both ends, because we often know what the other is trying to say. We started off just using the basic signs "more" and "all done" for meals, but I am proud to say she regularly uses the following signs: help, please, brush teeth, share, ball, outside, milk, eat, water, thank you, and hurt. Seeing her sign "please" and "thank you" is just so cute! I highly recommend using baby sign language with your child and recommend Wendy's class! She was an excellent teacher and I have nothing but positive things to say about her class!

I was SO nervous about the transition because he was a Covid baby and we had nannies up until that point, but it became abundantly clear very quickly that he is thriving under the care of Sandra, Adriana, and his teachers. They work very hard to make sure each kid is well cared for and comfortable at school. LTL offers dual language (Spanish and French) immersion instruction and care, and it's amazing to see how quickly the kids adapt and learn new languages and skills. They are Montossori-inspired, but more academic-focused. The teachers create a curriculum each week. What really impresses me is their philosophy that kids are extremely capable and oftentimes it's adults that underestimate them. For example, LTL reached out to us when our son was around 20-21 months old to start potty training. Everyone we knew thought it was crazy and it was far too soon, but sure enough, after following LTL's guide, our son was potty trained within a couple of months and well before his 2nd birthday. I HIGHLY recommend this daycare. It's certainly not cheap, but for us, it's worth it. Other notes: - they use the Brightwheel app, which makes it a breeze to pay, send messages, etc. - they will post a picture/video daily so you can see what your child is doing that day - class sizes have been small (but this may be because Bronzeville is a newer location). That was validated by our experience at the school. Our daughter is speaking in Spanish and French. She is writing, learning to read, and singing in 3 languages! WGN did a little segment on LTL during February 2019, because there are no other Chicago daycares that teach this way and this well. The teachers love on the children and care about them deeply. The LTL community feels like a family. Sandra and Nana (the owners) go out of their way to ensure the children get a great education and are loved on. The daycare celebrates fun European holidays and has an annual World-vision Toddler Marathon, where the children get to run a race and learn about being compassionate and generous towards those with less.
