Galileo Preschool was an excellent, affordable option for preschool in Suffolk County. As a mother…read moreand NYS certified educator, it was important that my child's first school experience was a good one. Ms. Daphnee, the Executive Director, was so warm and welcoming. The staff is as equally as warm and welcoming. The teachers and other staff are NYS certified and have many years of experience. The facility that houses Galileo Preschool and Daycare is well kept and very clean. The curriculum and educational program is equitable to the local school districts. Children are happy, well cared for, and enjoy wonderful learning opportunities such as themed cooking classes each with a Registered Dietitian, sensory play and age appropriate Math, Science and Literacy activities. Galileo Preschool helped my child become ready for Kindergarten and build the necessary social emotional skills that would ensure future success.

Unless you're a mom with a child with extra needs you may not truly understand this review. My son…read morerequires extra attention with activities. He has some vision impairment which causes delays. I can't tell you how many places judged his abilities and made obvious excuses that they couldn't take him in. Centers with open enrollment suddenly had an oversight and had no open spots. It's mind blowing because he's such a great kid and the sweetest little boy but as I've sadly learned, ignorance blinds you. When I spoke to Christina, the director at KA, she welcomed Chase with open arms. She never once made me feel that Chase was any different or a problem. She never looked at his delays but instead spoke to me as any parent that needed to connect with a teacher on what was best for Chase and any safety needs. In the very beginning there was an adjustment period that Chase struggled with. I thought for sure the center was going to say, maybe this isn't the best fit". It was the complete opposite actually. Instead, Christina and I sat and talked about Chase as a person. We came up with what would help him to adjust and a plan. A plan that worked. It's been almost 8 months now. Chase is one of brightest kids in the class. He has several friends that make him happy and excited to go in each week. I hope all those people that turned their back on my son never have a child with needs and have someone make them feel the way that many centers have made me feel. The world is hard enough, we shouldn't make parents feel worse and thanks to Kiddie Academy and especially Christina, there's one part of my sons day that just feels "normal" or as we are so trained to say, "typical". Thank you KA for providing a safe environment for Chase where has learned Independence in a safe loving environment.

My…read moredaughter registered her daughter paid registration fee and for the first month about the 14 of the called to say that she would not be able to attend two was diagnosed with asthma and was having serious complications and was other she didn't go back we were told we had to fill out a form which the form was filled out then we were told that their policy is that it takes 30 days from the time you filled out the form for it to be recognized and you would not be charged. That was after the fact well the first of the month came and we were charged again $150 for a two year-old program. They clarified that my had contract with them never explaining the facts to them never heard of a school that had done this before I can see that we would charge for the first month. I understood that even though she did not she did do a trial class and then she was registered but being charged for the second month is bull. The owner was not helpful. The owner did not care now. My daughter is out a lot of money. Beware don't sign the contract unless you're up for this so if you sign the contract in the beginning of the month, you're still being charged the following month also 150.00 is a lot of money these days also they said that they had to hold that opening and they couldn't take any other kids when I fact they still have an add up saying they have openings.

It's a…read morefantastic place with an Administration and Teachers who truly are a special group of experienced educators. My children have been thriving in this environment and LOVE going to school. The structured educational practices the Starks instilled creates character and confidence the children need as they begin to appreciate this solid foundation of learning to enrich their minds as they embrace the journey of a well rounded education. My kids start school this week and they are super excited about what this year has to offer. They wondered what projects, performances, activities, the teachers have prepared and how they will be picked to participate with classmates. As parents who want the best for their children we couldn't be more satisfied.

He had a tough time transitioning and eventually we got him to go for a period of 3 months without tears. 6 mos later after winter break, he was horrified going. He screamed, cried and they would call me to speak to him because of how bad it was in hopes to calm him. They would remove him from the class and send him with the director who he had no idea of, in order for the teacher to just continue to teach. It obviously would get bad for any child to go with a stranger. They would then call me to pick him early. I tried to reach out to his teacher multiple times throughout the year in terms of communication and it was extremely poor. The only time I'd get good communication would be if they wanted me to pick him up early ( also stressful for a working parent). In the end, the new director spoke to us and we decided it best to withdraw him. I reached out to teacher to get in touch as to what the heck happened but she wouldn't respond until the director intervened. HORRIBLE SCHOOL and HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. Do not send your kid here unless he or she knows how to fully speak and even then, they could care less about your child. I was told to ask his doctor about separation anxiety lol. I'm convinced something happened there because he went to a new school shortly after and was thriving. Unfortunately I won't ever know what since my son couldn't properly speak and the teacher was terrible in terms of communicating.
