I told Little Learners about the past problems we had, and that in some ways my kid was working on rebuilding his confidence. After a few weeks there he began to be more like himself, even wore his favorite pink shirt to school! (This was something he'd been bullied for in the past, so this was a big step.) At that moment, I knew he was really starting to feel safe and accepted at LLP. My kiddo is also not one of the kids who sits still very well. He is fidgety and is still learning to be good at circle time. They have been patient with him and have kept me well informed of his progress. They even let me visit the classroom many times to see what they did at circle time, and helped brainstorm ideas on how to get my child to learn to best behave. They have encouraged me and my child, and have been VERY helpful and very good at collaborating with me to think up ways to best help my son overcome challenges, and learn good behavior. They also have been great at being sure to celebrate his successes and his accomplishments, too. They just hosted the preschool graduation and we were thrilled! They had a nice, big ceremony in a nice venue and they put a lot more thought and planning into the event than I ever expected. It's clear that they really care about the children and parents, and work hard to ensure that the families that attend LLP are happy and know they're appreciated. They really know my son, and all of his likes, dislikes, and his charming qualities and what makes him tick. I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family.

I have no doubt it is due to the time he's spent with Lisa, Lori, and all of the incredible staff they've had throughout the years there (have to give a shout out to Genna, Jessica, and Teresa :) ) The things that stood out to us as parents that were absolutely invaluable were: -Communication!!! We've used other childcare for our kids and Lisa and Lori have set the bar. They are simply unmatched. They have made it a priority to keep us updated with the day's activities, food and snacks eaten, naps, diaper changes/potty habits, good behaviors and any issues that may have arisen. We looked forward to the pictures and videos we would see throughout the day and we never had to wonder what was going on. As working parents, I can't tell you how much this helped us feel comfortable with our choice to send our son here. -Education: They really value education: reading, number and letter recognition, colors, shapes, puzzles and educational games, educational songs. It's huge. Our son was counting to 10 by the time he turned 2. They had science and language (Spanish and ASL) focused lessons each week. He would constantly come home with new knowledge that blew us away. Their Teddy Bear Express curriculum is fantastic with wonderful themes. As a teacher myself, I cannot be more grateful for all that he learned and that they helped nurture a love of learning. -Organization & Cleanliness: For a home daycare, Lisa has created a perfect separate space for school vs her home. It's organized and clean. The staff checks the play equipment daily to ensure that it is clean, safe, free of bugs/spiderwebs, and sanitized. At meal times and during crafts, they had shirts that the kids would wear to protect their clothing from home from food and craft stains. This is extra but they have turf in the yard so we were grateful that our son wasn't coming home covered in grass, sand and dirt stains as well as no food or craft stains. Lisa is STRUCTURED in the best way. Everyone knows the expectations and routines and it is helpful for the kids and parents know what is going on throughout the day and for the kids to rise to the occasion and get used to a school setting. -Holidays/Themes: Lisa does a wonderful job of decorating for the holidays and making her home and the school setting feel new and fresh. They always had cute holiday crafts to bring home and would build it into their learning too. They have family gatherings for Halloween, Christmas (with Santa!), Easter (with the Easter bunny!), as well as a Mothers Day and Fathers Day party, a valentines exchange, St Patricks Day leprechaun traps. Having those opportunities to meet other families at the family parties was really nice and as a parent, having access to pictures with Santa and the Easter bunny were fantastic. Each week/month also had a different theme for their learning, share day, and Dress Up Friday. It was so fun for our son to dress up, and find items to share with his friends. He loved looking forward to the things he would get to learn about (space, volcanos, fire prevention--with a trip to the fire station!, dental hygiene, etc). They host an annual lemonade stand that the kids help market, organize, and run that we look forward to each summer! -Extras: They provide breakfast, lunch, and 2 snacks throughout the day so no stressing over slow eaters in the morning or packing a lunch. They have color coded water cups so no need to even bring a water bottle. All I had to do in the morning was get him dressed and drop him off and our mornings were so easy. They taught him so much before we even knew he was ready! One day he came home knowing how to get his shoes on independently and was proud to show us! They teach social etiquette like sharing, listening, taking turns, they give the kids daily jobs and responsibilities. They facilitated potty training. They use an app (Brightwheel) to track the day and communicate so it's nice when everything is in one spot. They have Parents Night Out a few times a year and it's wonderful to have affordable childcare where we know he'll have a blast and he's safe. Graduation/Awards ceremonies each year to celebrate the small victories and character awards--bonus, they learn songs to sing to the families which is not only adorable but great practice for all of the elementary school performances to come! When it was time to move on, our son was beyond ready, and was so confident as he started elementary school. It made our transition there so SO easy and I know it was in large part because of his time at My Place Just for Kids. I'm sure it's obvious from the length of this review but I couldn't recommend them enough :)

From the day I toured the center, I was consistently impressed with how clean and organized everything was. In the almost 3 years my daughter has been there, we have had zero concerns. I get teary-eyed just thinking about the peace of mind Booming Blossoms provided over the years. They were responsive, helpful, flexible, and always so patient with our girl (and trust me, she wasn't easy!). From monthly learning themes to the holiday fun, Lauryn and her team made every single day fun and exciting. Throughout the day, I would get pictures of what they were up to and a full report of the day at pick up. Anytime they had a new teacher join, we were promptly introduced and my daughter loved every single one of them- shout out to Miss Debbie, Miss Macy, and Miss Sarah! Blooming Blossoms holds a very special place in our hearts and we will continue to refer all to this center. Thank you Lauryn and team for a wonderful experience!

The absolute BEST childcare experience -- truly part of our family…read more Our daughter was with Miss Lauryn for over two years, and I can honestly say there are not enough good things I could ever write about her or Blooming Blossoms Learning Center. Leaving was one of the hardest decisions we've ever made, and we only did so because we recently transitioned our daughter to preschool. It truly felt like leaving a piece of our heart behind. We began with Miss Lauryn at her PB location and loved her so much that we followed her through her relocation to Santee -- even though it's far from our home. That alone speaks to the depth of our trust in her. Her Santee facility is beautiful, clean, safe, thoughtfully designed, and located in a wonderful neighborhood. Our daughter became her very first student there, and we couldn't have been happier. From day one, Miss Lauryn created the safest, warmest, most nurturing environment a parent could ever hope for. Our daughter had only ever been cared for at home by a nanny, so the idea of sending her somewhere outside our home felt intimidating at first -- but she made the transition seamless. Her program is the perfect bridge between in-home care and a true school setting: loving, personal, and homey, yet structured with curriculum, routines, and so many opportunities for social and developmental growth. Our daughter absolutely THRIVED with her. She grew into an expressive, confident, funny, kind little girl with such a big personality, and Miss Lauryn and her wonderful assistants were a huge part of that. She is attentive, patient, loving, and genuinely treats each child as if they were her own. Her communication with parents is absolutely exceptional. She uses the ClassDojo app and posts photos and updates every day, so you always feel connected and reassured. She is incredibly responsive, understanding, and communicative -- which is especially comforting if you're a more cautious or anxious parent (like we were in the beginning). You truly feel informed, included, and at ease at all times. On top of all of that, her hours are amazing -- better than nearly anything else we found -- and she provides all food, snacks, and lunches, which is such a huge help for busy families. And her rates are extremely fair and competitive for the level of care, communication, and structure she provides. It truly doesn't get better than this. If you are looking for a safe, loving, clean, developmentally focused, and genuinely warm environment for your child, Blooming Blossoms is the very best decision you can make. We are forever grateful for the foundation she gave our daughter and the love she poured into her every single day. We cannot recommend Miss Lauryn and her program enough.

I also saw children covered head to toe in mosquito bites, and they seemed to refuse to take the children inside when the bugs were swarming. They just shrugged it off. My son is a little rough and tumble. When he's tired, he can be a little handy. They unenrolled him without having a conversation with us first. They just sent a crappy email with a terrible letter with no phone call. Terrible way to run your business. I don't know if I can trust these people again. The teachers are super friendly and take the time to understand your child's needs. Whats even better... they take care of all snacks and meals for you. its part of the program!! The kids are kind and respectful and it's a direct reflection of the way the staff handles situations with the kids. They are very play based, with a large shaded playground and lots of Montessori-style toys and sensory items. They've even had a gardening day! They are a big help with potty training and I feel confident in my son's skills and assured that he won't regress because they help give him confidence in potty training as well. My son also knew all of his colors, numbers, and letters at 2! Beyond all of these great features - my favorite is that it is a Christ centered school. All of the teachers are caring, patient, and truly love the children. Before enrolling, we toured several daycares between our home and work, but this one immediately stood out because of its warm and welcoming environment. The outdoor play area is spacious with grass area, giving the kids plenty of room to run, play, and explore. The classrooms are always clean, organized, and filled with photos and artwork that showcase the children's daily activities. We love seeing the pictures on the walls because they help us feel connected to what our son is doing each day. WE LOVED THE LITTLE SCHOOL!!!!…read more If you're looking for a behavior-based pre-school that will help your kids grow into well-balanced, respectful and self-aware little children, then this is without-a-doubt the school for your family! Both of my kids attended The Little School (TLS) from 2011-2016, and I can honestly say (with absolute gratitude and humility) that they are typically the most well-behaved and well-spoken kids in most social settings. During the last five years, our family of four learned a great deal about how to use positive reinforcement and respect when dealing with parent/child intercommunications. The children learned how to communicate using their words (use your words, please), problem solve with their little peers (ask Megan about the buddy-bench), and accept their own responsibilities (who's responsibility is it?). From the start, TLS helped me personally be a better parent. For example, when my first child started to walk and learned how to climb up onto a chair my first reaction was to say, "No standing!". Yet, what I learned was, the best way to handle that situation is to say, "Sit down, please." As parents, my wife and I also learned how to provide better direction to our children; without them losing a sense of control. For example: "Kids, it's shower time. Do you want to walk, or do you want me to carry you?" Either way they're taking a shower. The same option was also used when we started to put them to bed on their own. Brilliant! There are way too many scenarios to list here so I won't even try. Megan and her staff are extremely loving and supportive, and if there's anything you need help with as a parent she can help you with some great suggestions and ideas to help you manage through it. We really consider Megan and her family, and some of the other families we met there, an extension of our own family. In short, for us, The Little School experience was the social foundation and fabric from which our kids' lives are formed from - and for that we will eternally be grateful. As an "older" mom, I never thought I'd need to know about kid's nutrition or potty training! But I learned SO MUCH about parenting from the teachers and staff. With the Positive Discipline approach the terrible twos have not been terrible at all....I'm actually surviving them (only 2-months in). But most importantly, the genuine regard for all the children's unique personalities, talents and quirks really set the Little School apart from others that I entertained. There is a peace about the environment there that I've not found eleswhere. Each child is appreciated. Each child is respected. You can't ask for more than that!
