I was hauling my trailer with a heavy load from Oceanside to South Utah. We barely made it up the cajon pass, transmission overheating and stuck in a gear that wouldn't push through and maxing out RPM. I pulled off the freeway and started making calls. This was on a Friday afternoon! I called ATech and Kesha said let me check if a tech can look at it. She jumped back on the line and said see ya when you get here. We limped in and met Hunter, owner and gifted mechanic behind the counter. He was awesome, he'd been in my shoes before. Far from home and stranded. He assessed the transmission and had me roll with him on the drive. He had his own family situation going on and still made time for me and my son. He would've worked through the weekend for us but his family had to come first this time. The next thing I knew he laid out a plan to get us home, secure my trailer and started ordering parts. Hunter gave me his families car and stored my trailer with all my belongings being moved from Cali to Utah at his house behind a gate and with security cameras. I mean, come on! He called me on Monday and was already digging into the problem on my 2020 Ram 2500 with 150k miles. The news was bad but not anything he couldn't handle. I haul a lot and needed this rebuilt strong. I decided to add the cooler, a bypass, and a larger pan. Man! the price was super fair, Especially for the amount of expertise that Hunter has in rebuilding transmissions. Hunter has been in this line of work since he was 18 years old. My truck has never run better, smother and cooler than it does now. I really can't say enough about the service, price and performance of my experience. The photos included show my temps pulling the grade heading back to Utah. I was at 20,000 pounds including truck and trailer. Since the rebuild on October 7th 2026, I have put another 2000 miles in. Thanks Hunter, You're a good man and I look forward to seeing you again when I pass your way. Thanks for caring!! Your generosity got me home in time to see my cousin that I haven't seen in years.

Parts and labor would come out to $7500-11500. Said no way and called a few transmission shops. Felt most comfortable picking Atech after speaking with them. They took the time to explain the damage to my transmission and possible outcomes. Left the car with them and told them no rush as I had a spare vehicle. To my surprise, the car was done just a few days later and for less than their original quote which was a fraction of what Ford wanted. I hope I never have a broken transmission again, but if I do it's going back to Atech!

And for the Saturn, Hesperia Transmission was a few hundred higher than lowest quote and few hundred lower than highest quote. But BY FAR THE BEST CHOICE. He gave me warranty info on the phone.Have had my vehicle now for months and runs great. It is so nice to get an honest mechanic. Super great job. AND now my second vehicle, my mustang had transmission problem, and Rob fixed this as well. He did more than i asked for. I wanted temp fix and he did more for the price of the temp fix. Super fair quote. Honest and quality transmission shop. And to boot, he even stored vehicle until it was convenient for me to pick up. What a great guy.

They charged me a very reasonable fee for a repair, when they could have taken advantage. Many shops will make sure to tell you that you need to replace pretty much every part that might possibly be related to whatever is going on. "You're gonna need all new plugs, coils, hoses, widgets, relays, and whizz-drivers!" No, Brian only replaces what actually needs to be replaced. How do I know these guys are reasonable and honest? Because they could have easily told me the charges were going to be like 3 times as much, and I would have been forced to consider it. But they didn't do that. They fixed the problem, and charged a reasonable price for it. Highly recommended.

We called them and had it towed back into them. My daughter called back the next day to ask if they had looked at the vehicle they said no so she said she would call back on that next Monday to get an update. Some things took place where she wasn't able to call, but they hadn't called her either so my daughter being a woman and we know how that goes in an automotive shop, haven't we called when I called they told me that the vehicle was done and that she owed $495. My daughter never gave them authorization in which they claimed that she did in the state of California that's not legal authorization you have to have written authorization and if you do get a verbal authorization, they have to note the person's full name, their phone number, the date and the time that this supposedly took place in which that information could not be conveyed they just said yeah they talked to my daughter, so their shot manager had the owner. Call me in which he got very competitive argumentative and basically accused us of being that type of person that's trying to pull a fast one. My daughter told them upfront that she needed to know what she was looking at before. Any work was done because she had just split up with her boyfriend and they have two kids that are very little so she needed to make sure that she could afford it instead the shop decided they're gonna do the legal thing and do the work and figure she was just gonna pay it not gonna happen not on my watch. Don't take your vehicles to this place because they're gonna charge you for stuff that you didn't approve and it's not legal they figure you're gonna need the vehicle that you're just gonna do it. I've dealt with this before and everything they did was illegal and they're gonna learn the hard way that they can't treat people like that and they can't strong-arm people into paying bills that were not approved for those that are in similar situations. make sure you file a complaint with the bar (the bureau of automotive repair.) and then if need be take him to Small Claims Court because if they hold your vehicle and refuse to give it back once you win in court, they can be responsible for any rental cars you had to get while you were waiting for your car to be returned to you check the laws in legalities and everything covered underneath it don't let them take you for a ride because I think they can get away with it. Unfortunately, Yelp won't let you leave a review with no stars so I had to give one star, but if I could give negative I would.
