What I like about Turn Style: When consigning, I find that if you bring in newer / gently used items I find I can get more for them here than I would at a garage sale. What I don't like about Turn Style: There is one employee (or owner / manager?) at this location who is overtly unpleasant to work with. I have had multiple negative experiences with her. I'm typically a very conscientious and easy going so this is not a response to any negativity on my part. For example: I referenced the website prior to bringing items in, and the website clearly states you can drop in up to 50 items. I brought in 50 and she looked at me and said "you know the limit is 35". I gently let her know that the website I referenced prior to my trip there clearly states 50. Instead of being apologetic about the misinformation stated ON THEIR WEBSITE, her response was "I'm not in charge of the website", Nice. This was my 4th o4 5th negative experience with this person. I have purchased numerous Framed art, two beautiful upholstered chairs and two beautiful white nightstands plus various vintage lamps and miscellaneous china/ serving pieces, victorian inspired vanity mirrors and mirrored and signed jewelry vanity trays, a vintage and authentic a Fendi doctor handbag and an authentic Return to Tiffany silver heart bracelet all just from this location. If you are Selective in what you are searching for, you will find great things. I don't consign any items and I don't look at the shoes/ clothes although half the store features these items but they tend to receive some Wonderful household goods and price these pieces accordingly. I stop in weekly and honestly if you see something you like, buy it immediately. Most household items never reach the reduced sale date. As far as service, if I need assistance, I will ask. The service Ive received has always been attentive and friendly. They wrap and box/ bag all My items carefully and they move furnishings/ paintings to the entrance for pick up ( they don't bring anything to your vehicle). The first time I entered the Turn Style in Eden Prairie with some clothing, I was not greeted, and was treated like I had no brain - very humiliating experience. It took me 7 months to go back and get a check from them. I tried them one more time, hoping my first experience was a fluke - Wrong!! I was not greeted when I entered the shop and the woman who does the decision on the clothes was rude to me, and the lady after me. After waiting over an hour to see what they would take, again, the clothing lady couldn't have been any more rude! If you don't like what you are doing; then find another job - customers that keep your shop open, don't deserve to be treated so rudely. Without us, you would have no job! Showed up 30 minutes before close to consign clothes and was told they don't accept clothes an hour before closing. I told them their website doesn't specify this and she said "sorry". Nice customer service. SMH! read more

I considered the Turn Style location to be more Edina than Richfield. The one time I went to this location I didn't find anything to get in a bigger size. My mom is a small so she found something. We only checked out this location because we enjoy shopping at the Lakeville store so much. It was just too big with so much stuff to look thru. We will be sticking with the south of the river locations closer to home. read more

This store is not worth the trip or price of gas to get there. If you are a buyer, you are welcome. If you are a consigner, don't bother. No efficiency here. You are told to return later in day or another day to determine if your items were accepted. Return again and still no results. Don't go here; find another store. read more

I brought in 5 bags of clothes and they told me I would have to put everything on hangers myself before they'd even look at them. I've never consigned anywhere that required people to do that, including the Turn Style in St Paul. Even at higher end consignment boutiques this isn't required. I'm so miffed that I'm probably just going to dump all these brand name clothes at goodwill and be done with it. read more

I would give this store 1 star at best. The manager and staff have quite an attitude and make you feel as though they are doing you a favor by accepting your things. Even though the Edina store is closer for me, I no longer consign with them. You can find some nice home furnishings but the attitudes from the staff are not worth it. read more

My mother and I brought several crystal and porcelain pieces in for consignment at the 66th St. location. They accepted over half of them. We were shocked when we visited again to see that they sold them so cheaply - we received just a few dollars for each. We would have earned more at a garage sale. One item was lost and when we asked an employee for help to find it and instead of helping she went (literally running) up to the front desk to find a copy of the consignment agreement that states they are not responsible for losses. We spoke with the manager and she blamed us for not telling them how much they were worth. We will never consign or shop here again. read more

Just a note that although I live close to this location I don't go there any more as the reviews posted here mostly mirror my experiences. The last time I consigned here, they 'lost' several rings and claimed it was theft. I understand that is an issue in these stores but that many items? When I got the status list of all consigned items, there were numerous ones that were not mine and several I consigned were not on my list. Coding errors? It is a long drive but I have now gone back to the Plymouth location, much better customer service and they really turn the items around quickly. read more

A friend had told me good things about Turn Style (albeit, a different location) so I took a few items here to consign since it was near my work. All four were very nice but they only took 3/4 items, which I was ok with. Ended up selling the leather jacket they rejected on E-Bay for $20 which is loads more than I would've made here. The girl who helped me did not explain the consignment process clearly (but she did tell me you have to bring your clothes on a hanger - oops) and I've never consigned at a traditional "consignment shop" before - usually I will just go to places like Plato's Closet which pay you on the spot. For those of you who are new to consigning at Turn Style, after the store picks what items they can sell, they will keep them in-store for 90 days, and if they sell, you will make money (which the store will pay you after the fact by check). If the items sell earlier within the 90-day period, you make more, and I believe every 30 days the price gets reduced by a certain percentage. Before the end of the 90 days you can pick up your unsold clothes, but if you do not do so within 90 days, you forfeit them and they become property of the store. When I came back to pick up my unsold items a few days before the 90-day mark, it took forever to find my coat, as it was literally buried in the overstuffed coat rack. What really gets my goat is they only sold one of my items, and never bothered to send me the check, so I never got my $4! Since it's only 4 bucks I don't have time to fight over it, but I am not pleased. Had I known I would have just donated the clothing, at least I'd be able to put it on my tax return! Take your clothes elsewhere and don't consign at this location. I would not want to shop here either, most of the clothes look junky to me and the aesthetic of the store is cluttered and not pleasing. read more

A month after consigning a mirror and a table, they told me they had no record of either. I went home and got my paperwork, and they finally found the items under another persons name. They sold an expensive table paid $700, bought 10 years ago, in great shape, for $40.00., the mirror for $9. I got something like $23. It made me sick to my stomach! They really are disorganized and don't know how to price things. Sell your stuff at a garage sale or on NextDoor!! read more

My third and last time at this rude place. As others have posted they conveniently "lose" a lot of stuff - the good stuff it seems. I actually asked about a 300 dollar lamp a week after I brought it in, and they said it was sold. Now....they said they had to donate it. I usually enjoy shopping here but when I went today it was unbelievably messy. Clothes were packed too tight so it was difficult to go through the racks and many many items had fallen off the hangers. Also many pieces were not in the correct size areas which was really frustrating The racks by the dressing rooms for clothes not chosen for purchase were overflowing and customers had started to just throw stuff on top because there was no room. I hope they get more help so they can better maintain the store. read more

I was a regular at the Drew Ave store and am sad that they packed up and left. Now the closest one to me in this one. I buy pretty much all of my clothes here, but I am a bargain shopper, so I mostly wait until the offer a Groupon. They let you pair the Groupon with their sale prices. I used my limit of Groupons during their 50% off sale and then they went and dropped their red tags to 75% off so I keep going back and getting amazing deals. A lot of the stuff is brand new or very lightly used. I can't speak to the consigning side since I only purchase rather than sell. As with any secondhand store, it is hit or miss and you have to be in the mood to try stuff on. Most pants these days seem to be made for 6 foot tall people so I often have to try on 10 pairs to get one that fits properly. The nice thing about all their locations is that all the dressing rooms are open all the time and they don't limit the items you can bring in. That makes it so much easier. I stopped at the Burnsville store the other day for the first time and they seemed to have more red tags than Richfield. If you offer a sale on red tags, but the majority of the tags are green, it's a little annoying, but I soon figured out that certain racks were all green or all red and concentrated my sights on the red racks. Honestly their regular prices seem a bit high for second hand, but when it's on sale, they are a great bargain. I guess I could feel bad for the people selling their clothes not getting a great deal, but something is better than nothing and I've always just donated my used clothes. I have been going here for years but have noticed that the prices have gone up in particular on athletic wear. For example I have bought workout crops for $13 and just today saw sweatpants of the same brand for $19. Bought a top for $10.50 a couple months ago and today saw one for $22. These are all the same brand and similar styles and quality so don't like how the price changes so much. Also, other brands in athletic wear are priced much more affordable. read more
