We immediately made a beeline to go look at the store. I am a collector of Lladro figurines. For those not familiar with Lladro, they are handcrafted porcelain figurines from Spain. I own several including a Don Quixote figurine, a Sancho Panza figurine, A dancing coupe, a young girl holding a cat, several geishas, several farmers, and others. I think they are beautiful and classy, and I just love having them decorate my home. They are also pricey. There were several figurines in this shop that certainly caught my eye. Some I thought were just interesting like the Star Wars figurine, others that I was thinking about perhaps buying (Geishas and the Nativity Scene). The guy manning the store was friendly and certainly knew how to haggle, the price was good but I was afraid of getting it home to Ohio safely and undamaged. I did not know where I could ship it from St. Thomas, or if I had enough time to look for one. I was afraid with how delicate they are to take them on the boat, put them in my bags and then have to go thru customs and it being damaged... much less than getting them from Miami back to Ohio. So, after those thoughts went through my head, I decided not to go thru with the purchase. I did not like making that decision, but alas I think it was for the best. I will say, this is a great store to buy from if you are into Lladro. There are many different ones to choose from and all reasonably priced. If your a tourist and have the time to look for a way to ship these beautiful works of art home, I recommend you come here to buy!

Furniture Giant was a huge success for all of our furniture needs. We bought two bedrooms sets and everything for our living room and kitchen here and got really good deals on quality pieces. I hate compressed woods, it's cheap and the furniture goes quickly and they don't do this here. Ron, the Sales Manager that helped us out with our multiple shopping trips here was just amazing with taking his time to show us options and answer questions. From coordinating the deliveries to follow up he's your guy to work with on getting your home in St. Thomas furnished. All deliveries were quick and on time and the guys that set up our furniture were very polite and careful not to nick the furniture or damage any of the surfaces in our house. The only reason of why this shop lost one star is because they had no air conditioning for all of the times that we went to see items. It was like walking through a human Dutch oven. They did have massive fans blowing throughout the store but it only helped a little. The new location is now next to of where WAPA was behind Bonjour gas station in the same complex because the old location was destroyed by both hurricanes. No one has consistent electricity these days so I guess air-conditioning doesn't really matter. #St.Thomas #USVI

When delivered the men who set up our couch said it was missing pieces and they would be back but never came back. Leaving me with a totally useless 1000 dollar piece of furniture. When I called multiple times the owner said he would fix this but then never called back, never came back. What a big disappointment and a terrible first taste of the island. Going to have to take them to small claims court and get my money back!

Furniture Giant - Was told they were coming back to finish the job and weeks later and several phone calls.... nothing. Will have to bring them to court.

I am always down for exploring a thrift store, flea market, or consignment shop and when I spied Encore, I was ecstatic. We climbed the short staircase outside the colorful building, opened the door, and emerged into a small treasure trove of new and gently used shoes, clothing, accessories, and home decor. There was so much to look at and so little time! Beautiful designer shoes, sexy dresses, exquisite pieces of jewelry as well as casual wear. Prices were reasonable and there was something to fit every budget. Although I didn't find the hoop earrings I was hoping for, I saw many other nice things and wished we'd had more time to try things on and explore the shop. I left with a lovely faux pearl bracelet for $5. The owners are a couple who relocated to St. John from the mainland. The husband, Mr. Needham, was tending shop when we dropped in. He is a nice gentleman, well-spoken and welcoming. When I return to St. John, I'll make sure I have several hours to spend in Encore BEFORE I go to the beach.
