They had things like ornaments and magnets as you'd see in any gift shop, but also had some unique little gift items like a map of the US national parks that you can peg with little wooden trees after you've visited. Everything was just so cute! It is a little pricey though, kinda your standard gift shop prices (eg an ornament my mom bought was $24). So just be aware - but def found lots of cute things here that I hadn't seen in other shops while walking around St. John. :)

I should have taken the receipt because when I saw the charge on my credit card, she charged me $84.42. I hope she reads this and realizes her reputation is worth the $40+ she cheated me out of. Is this store struggling this much that she would cheat me out of this small amount of money. Be careful when buying something from here. Get your receipt and double check it before leaving the store.

It's located on the main drag along the waterfront and isn't very big inside. Parking is wherever you can find it. If it isn't busy in town you can get away with parking on the street/curb right in front as long as you don't stay in the shop too long. It has something to do with the laid back atmosphere of Esperanza. Vieques Gifts has the best T shirts and other clothing along with gifts for you and to take back to your friends at home. The owners come from Senegal and most of the stuff is imported from that country but items from other African countries are scattered about. I even saw what I assumed to be Rastafarian thingies Lots of colorful bags, clothing, art, music and gifts items. Bright and bold colors must be popular in Senegal because the items I saw all looked so cheerful and full of expression. Lot of different, artistic and unique items, this is certainly not your average touristy type of place. The lady working there was wonderful and loved to talk about her country and her inventory. She will patiently tell her where the particular item was made and what it means. A pleasant little store that is definitely for the person that wants something a bit different. Once you find this store you will probably find it difficult to leave.

The following morning , while we waited for our breakfast from Pancafé Bakery, I decided to check if they were open. They were and they had towels. They also have lots of other things for the beach, like clothes, bathing suits, shades, etc. It is kind of a surf shop and gift shop. I found a bodyboard that I thought my 3 year old would like and bought it. He loved it. He spent the next days riding waves with my husband.
