I visit St. Croix often and have bought hook bracelets and other items from this store. I decided I would get a hook bracelet for a dear friend for his birthday so I ordered one through their online store on July 9th. I received a call from the store a few days later advising they were planning on sending out my item the following week. Since then I have not heard from them at all. It is now August 9th and the birthday of my friend has passed and I have yet to receive a response from an email I sent a few days ago requesting a refund. I know that they are on "island" time and all, but if you plan on running a website where you accept payment from international sources..you need to deliver products on "world" time. I am returning to the island in a couple months and I really hope I don't have to go to the store in person to get my refund! Tiny little shop but is the "original" shop for the famous st croix hook bracelet. There are a number of other jewelry shops located downtown that offer the bracelet but to me they felt touristy and not the same quality. The bracelet has gained such popularity that after you purchase one you start to notice people where ever you go in this world have the same one. It's like an underground club or a secret handshake since ST Croix is the only spot to get it. Back to the shop~ they offer a variety of hook bracelets and in different finishes along with metal used. The traditional is all sterling silver and ranges in price from $60 up to $200+. If your not interested in the hook they do offer other designs and collections. The hurricane collection is unique in itself and has a number of swirls on it for the design. Wonderful Customer Service! I received a Sonya LTD Hook Bracelet as a gift. I NEVER took it off and after having it for many years It broke in two. I contacted SONYA LTD and they told me to send it back. They received my bracelet, assessed it and advised me that it broke because of exposure to chlorine. I was shocked because when it broke, I was in fact at an indoor water park (for a week). The communication was prompted and efficient from day one. This is the 'original' hook bracelet store in St.Croix. They have various designs for every taste and budget. However, the sales people seemed a little annoyed (as if they were bored with the merchandise) and the prices for gold and silver were a bit steep in comparison to other stores in the area. I suppose that is what you get for an 'original' hook bracelet. My friend purchased one from this location but went ahead and got a couple from another store with better prices and service. If having a "Sonya" bracelet is important to you, then by all means! I saved about $80 on my two comparable bracelets (that also have a lovely design) by going to another vendor. There were some beautiful designs at Sonya's, I just didn't feel they were worth the price. read more

There is some really beautiful jewelry at Sonya's. Came here in 1999 and 2000 and bought several lovely bracelets. Returning to St. Croix this week I made it a prerogative to return and replace my bracelet which sadly no longer fit. I mentioned how remiss I was that the old one didn't fit and they informed me about their upgrade/replacement policy for St. Croix hooks. I was psyched to learn that for $10 I could give them my old bracelet and get a new one that fit! Not only that, but I had the option to upgrade to a thicker bracelet or different metal and pay only the price difference and the ten bucks. They definitely have earned a customer for life! I love their designs and that they make the original St. Croix hook. The imitations really do not compare in my opinion. I saw several and was not impressed. Yelpers from several years ago found Sonya's to be more expensive - but years later it's the other shops who are comparatively more expensive. The 3mm silver hook is only $60 and many of the bracelets on STX are over a hundred. I've already requested that my hubby order a bracelet from them for my next bday!
