I flew from Bilbao to Istanbul recently and the boarding process for Turkish Airlines was very unique. You don't get the departure gate on the screen until like 45 min before the actual departure time, so the "passport control" area would not take you until that time.
Once you pass through that area, you come to an open space where all the groups are labelled and lines are formed waiting to get on board.
The staff was pleasant and fairly helpful.
The aircraft was a narrow Airbus with a 2-2 setup in Business Class. The food was not bad but not as goos as the intercontinental flights. While at the airport, the business class passengers have the privilege to access the Bilbao VIP lounge which was small but pleasant.
Still, a good pleasant flight with a top 10 world class airline. read more
