The outer shells are whisper thin, reflecting true skill on the part of those casting the chocolate. The fruit fillings are bright and sharp and in the multi-flavored fillings the individual flavors meld harmoniously but are each distinctly recognizable. Highly recommended. The cafe is small with both indoor and outdoor seating. Situated on a quiet, leafy corner of Avenida Amsterdam it's a wonderful place to start the with coffee or an indulgent mocha and pastry. I wish they offered their cakes by the slice as I've never been a big fan of laminated pastry but stuff anything with gianduja and it's bound to rock. N.B. The danish is actually a cruffin made from croissant dough but it's buttery and well laminated and unless you're a weird chocolate hater you'll be happy.

I got a whole bag and a cocoa to go. My Chocolate con cacao fermentado was delicious. The staff member made it fresh with the traditional beater in pot. It was silky and decadent, rich chocolate. And it had a lovely grain from coarsely ground cacao nibs. I've never welcomed a texture like that but I now yearn for it.

There was very little to no inventory of anything in the shop. There were two employees in the shop when we arrived but no one offered to help us or answer any questions. There's a huge selection of sweets, so you are bound to find something you like. I tried a few items and thought they were good...sweet.but not wayyyy too sweet either. Overall, the shop prices its sweet very reasonably...if anything, it's very affordable for those American tourists with USD. The only minor draw back is it's really a to-go shop. You order your sweets and everything is in a bag/box. There's no place really to sit around and enjoy your treats in their shop.

Per Belgium standards, I think it has to be 63% cacao to be called chocolate; not milk chocolate (think of a Toblerone). Don't get me wrong, I like a Toblerone, but I'm a dark chocolate guy ever since I hit my 1st Belgium Chocolatier's shop. Great job, and thank you ladies!!!!

Service was polite but not incredibly helpful. The shop itself was very cute and had a nice selection of chocolates on display but unfortunately they were mostly milk or white chocolate and I really prefer dark chocolate. It wasn't terrible but it also wasn't worth finishing the chocolate or buying any to bring home with me.

They gave us a good breakdown on the differences between "lavado" and "fermentado" chocolate, had us try different nibs to taste the difference and recommended some beverages. They also have baked goods and ice cream to munch on as you sip your chocolate. There's seating outdoors and some upstairs where you can hang with friends and take a break from the busy city life. I brought some of their chocolate bars back home with me, and they were rich and made with unrefined piloncillo.

I can't go back to American hot chocolate and my wallet is cooked. The staff were quiet but kind and brought the drink to my table. I wasn't sure if I'm supposed to leave my cup so I brought it back down from the loft. The variety of chocolate available is impressive for a small shop. The prices are a bit high but beat what I can get at home for sure. I'm not enough a connoisseur to compare different chocolate qualities but I expect a pleasant graininess from small shards of cacao nibs but my brew was smooth as can be. However, the taste was pleasant and might be a plus for those who want a smoothly textured chocolate.
