    Down to Earth Tree Services

    Down to Earth Tree Services

I contracted Darin Bullock of Down to Earth Tree Service on June 19th, 2024, to cut down and remove…read more3 dead trees in my back yard. My experience was nearly identical to Yelp poster Gina C. The cost for all three was $1,600. The trees were cut down on June 22nd. He cut down and removed the smallest of the three trees. We're OK there. However, with the other two trees he left the lumber there and after many contact attempts the wood is still there. He cut down the other two trees, a large dead Ash and a Black Walnut that had fallen over. He told me he needed a crane to remove the remnants of the large dead Ash. When I went back to inspect his work, he didn't remove the remnants of the Black Walnut tree either. He told me he "forgot" to get the Black Walnut wood. How do you forget something like that? Today is December 5, 2024 and the wood is still there. I have reached out to Bullock more than a dozen times since June 22nd. So far, I've received 9 hard commitments with dates to remove the lumber and two "I'll try" commitments. The commitment dates are 7/1, 7/8, 8/5, 8/13, 8/14, 8/22, 8/24, 9/30, and 10/9/24. The "I'll try" dates are 7/15 and 8/27. He has given me many reasons why he couldn't get the wood. A funeral, a car crash, heat exhaustion, a severed artery and PTSD. Everything except the dog ate my homework. I understand that stuff happens but he's not a solo operator. He has a crew. Also, he has done many other jobs since mine so there's no excuse for not getting the wood per the work order agreement. I always support local businesses whenever I can. I'm also hesitant to write negative reviews about someone. It was very easy to write this review about Darin. i really don't like being scammed and he is a scammer. In order to protect the folks in this area from going through what Gina C. and I have gone through I've filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General's office. Next, I'm filing a complaint with the BBB. I have a complete set of documentation that supports every single accusation I've made some of which I've attached to this review Do yourself a favor and stay FAR AWAY from this guy. There are a lot of very good tree services available in NW PA. This guy is NOT one of them.

Great price terrible service. Do not believe any of the excuses Darin may give you. I was…read morevisiting my brother and thought I would do a nice thing and have a tree cut down so it would not fall on his house. Job started on October 9th 2024 and still not completed. I paid to have the tree cut down and removed from the property. He cut more than originally planed and he said he would take all the wood. He put the tree down on a small fence. Not really a big problem but did not even remove the broken fence after I asked him to remove the broken bits. He pushed the left over logs onto my neighbors property and has not been back to remove them. The pieces are large and would need to be sawed down to move them. He took her deposit and has not been back to her house to remove a tree for her. He will start the job, then the excuses will come. If you want to keep the wood it is a good deal. From what I can tell he has two other jobs in the neighborhood that he has not finished cleanup. It is now November 30, 2024. I will be visiting my brother in March or April 2025, let us see if he will be able to complete any of the 3 jobs I have mentioned or start the job he took a deposit for. Also, I gave him a check, HE SAID HE WOULD HOLD UNTIL THE JOB WAS DONE. LIE LIE LIE. He deposited the check that same day and blamed his wife. Darin is a nice guy and I really liked him but he does not know how to run his business. He will tell one customer one thing and another customer something else. He does not tell his workers his current lie so they tell you the truth. On the last day i saw him he was having a hissy fit because I asked him to come back to pick up the piles of sticks and stuff he had left in the yard. The kids (4 and 2) wanted to play in the yard. He was yelling about not making any money on the job and he had raked that area before. He did a quick rake job. He did not pick it up that day so I did a more thorough job until he came back to get it. He was also upset about the ivy his workers pick up. I guess he forgot that he raked it back onto the neighbors property when he was making an escape route. The little tantrum really upset me. Had he completed the job in a timely manner he would have made money. I as a customer cannot help it if he does not make money because he does not know how to run his business. It is not my fault he did not make money. I had to keep texting him asking when he would be back to complete the job. He would either give me a day and time when he would return or an excuse why he could not come that day. He would give me a time of 10am and not show up until 1:30pm. A job that should have taken 3 hours took over a month and is still completely done. I do not see the other bad review previously on the page. It stated do not use this guy and they actually finally asked him not to come back they would pay someone else to remove the debris. He told me he did not know who this person was. I believe it was him and his company because the same thing that happened to her happened to us, so I would have to say it was a true post from 9 months ago. When I look now the only review he has is from 2023. I guess he had it removed. I have so much more to say but that would make this post so much longer. I will see if I can make an update the next time I visit my brother. Anyone want to make a bet as to if the logs will be gone by the time I get back in April 2025. To sum up. Nice guy (Darin) but not reliable. The job will take way longer than he will say or you will think it should take. He will drag it out so he can then have a hissy fit because he is not making any money. If you want to keep the wood it might be okay to use him but if you want the debris removed not so good.

I had signed on for an apartment near campus, but unlike other apartments, it did not include snow removal for the driveway. As a result, I was out of luck when my driveway was completely buried, finally reaching Fredonia after a long and exhausting drive from my hometown. I called this service, and boy, they went out of their way. First, they didn't charge me a penny to plow my driveway; additionally, they offered a place for me to park and wait. Quick response, kindness, and professionalism turned this stressful situation into one of relief and gratitude. The driveway was accessible and perfectly cleared once I returned! It has been the nicest act that I have experienced while here at Fredonia. If you need snow removal from a team that truly cares, I highly recommend them, especially if you have accessibility concerns. Their generosity and devotion to helping their community are unmatched and gave me reassurance for the rest of Fall semester. Thank you so much for everything!

At the beginning of November 2022, flooding caused by heavy storms, overflowed a drainage ditch adjacent to my property, and caused damage that was not fixable. My house had to be lifted into the air and a whole new poured foundation and crawlspace installed. Fadale Enterprises assured me that the products/services could still be applied to the new poured concrete crawlspace. On multiple occasions, I was told they needed to be involved during the entire new foundation and crawlspace install process to make sure their products were installed properly. I live in Pittsburgh and trusted they would oversee this. Fadale Enterprises never installed or appeared on site to install the Sump Basin and Tile Drain like they had stated they would as "the company needs to see a project through from start to finish to control everything". That did not happen. The owner of the foundation company I hired had to drive to Fadale Enterprises to pick up the Sump Basin and Tile Drains to install them himself. The only items ever provided by Fadale Enterprises that are on-site at my property are: 1. Sump Basin 2. Tile Drain and Fittings These costs are listed as the first 6 items on their quote and they are below: $168 $48 $36 $32 $18 $112 Total: $414 of actual product is at my property. No labor by Fadale Enterprises has ever been performed. No other items have ever been delivered and/or installed at my property. So Fadale Enterprises never encapsulated my crawlspace, but kept my money. . After several failed attempts asking Fadale Enterprises that I be refunded for items that were never delivered to my property nor installed at my property, as well as no labor ever performed at my property by Fadale Enterprises, they have yet to return my $6756.
