To all Inquirer(s), Prior and Future tenants,
As a partner/investor of Tuple County Property Management, I speak on behalf of the company when I say I am sorry if anyone has had a bad experience with Tuple. When I was told to look at the comments on this site, I did... My only response was WoW! Every investor in our company takes your comments very seriously and would definitely like to see the opposite response when it comes to Tuple. I would not get on a blog unless I felt I needed to address views on our company and defend our integrity/character. We manage 150+ personalities on a yearly basis and we understand we will not make everyone happy. Although our aim is to please, making everyone happy is not realistic 100% of the time and that does not take away from anyone's bad experience. Below I would like to let explain our journey and mistakes we made along the way that may have led to some of these comments.
First, As part owner in the College Station area, all we have tried to do is make sure we put out a great product whether that be through our housing or service. It was made pretty clear through our previous tenants that some of their needs were met, while others were not. Assembling a team to carry out the needs and wants of others can be difficult. As a vested member of the company, we have search high and low to assemble the team necessary to carry out the needs of others. I have to tell you readers that has not been easy as new owners. In our progression to built that team we have made mistakes and I would like to list those:
A.)We made the mistake of growing our business to fast with out putting together a proper staff to handle the growth.
B.)We made the mistake of hiring friends or friends of family. This mistake has lead to entitlement issues, underachieving, and bad customer service to the most important people involved with the company. Our tenants!
C.) In our last hire, we hired an employee who seem to be what we were looking for and ended up not being that. We made the mistake of macro managing our company on the strength of information submitted/told to us about the many hats she had worn which was a big mistake on our end. We should have verified those traits and abilities. This is no indictment on that employee, but a mistake on our end. Instead of taking her word on the fact she ran her husbands truck/construction company and was familiar with all the many facets of management. She clearly was not. We made the mistake of not micro managing the hire and operations after teaching policy and procedure while she was in office. As a result we heard it from tenants about the customer service that was displayed during dialog with that employee. She was later terminated from the company.
D.)For anyone that started the 2014 lease year in our new units, we made you aware of the issues we had with the builder in town with breach of contract in completing the new units in a timely manner. As a result, Tuple went out of our way to accommodate everyone involved, whether that was putting them up in a hotels, having a moving company move you, reimbursement, 2 free months of rent etc. It was never our intentions on not having the units ready.
E.)After the termination of the employee mentioned above in "C", we knew would be short handed. It was a decision that had to be made and a chance we needed to take as a company until we found a replacement. As a result, reaching us by phone was sometime difficult and we are sorry for this. We knew the company would take a bit of a hit, but it was very necessary.
Secondly, I would like to continue by explaining what we are NOT. I want go into our faith and the measure of the men involved in this company. I will simply say that although we had our short comings along the way as new businessmen in the area. One thing we are not, is cheaters, scammers, thieves or what a few people have painted us as... We are noble businessmen. We have seen comments by some regarding nickel and dime of our tenants. Let me say that for every lease violation we have handed out, we have shown grace or given a warning to our tenants. Our fees and violation charges are compliant with State law,City of CS and our lawyers have made sure of that although other companies have different policy. We as a company do not wake up and say we are going to fine 10 tenants this month. We rather focus our energies elsewhere, rather than running kids down for rent, or violations. The perfect world would be, everyone paying their rent and abide by the lease rules.
Lastly, I would like to say we are sorry and do sincerely apologize to anyone who experienced a unpleasant moment with anyone person in the company prior to now. Nobody takes these comments more serious than us when it comes to Tuple and we are going to continue to accommodate our tenants in the best way possible. We look forward to serving our area and student in the future. read more
