BRAVO. MOM & POP SHOP GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND…read more Last year, in the middle of winter, the owner drove to my home from his home, hours away -- our garage door was frozen in the OPEN position. My old wooden double garage door revealed a stocked garage for passers by to see. We were panicking. The owner generously drove to us, and didn't leave until he was certain we were fine and the garage was operating as it should. I would recommend Queen Able hands-down simply based on the owner's can-do, customer-focused attitude -- but his workers are excellent, too. Days ago, one of his men spent an inordinate amount of time performing an annual maintenance review. As always, a positive, friendly, caring attitude was clear. But most importantly, the technician knew what he was doing and possessed real experience in fixing older garage doors. Suffice to say, my maintenance and tune up issues exceeded expectations. I have been incredibly impressed by multiple experiences with Queen Able. *When you call them for maintenance/repair - they do not try to take advantage and push you to purchase a new door. Unless of course, you truly need one. You have to admire that.

Your feedback once again reflects our unpleasant experience with you. I am attaching our email…read moreexchange for people to see the accurate interaction. After much back and forth, you threatened to place a mechanical lien against me, and I replied that I would provide negative reviews. I said I did not want the door and you said you would take it back. I agreed to it and said I wanted my deposit back. I said I would start again with another company to get a white, not gray door. You said you would get back to me. The email below shows your "amicable resolution." You attempted to charge ABOVE the original cost of the door to remove the gray one. The manufacturer of the door did say that this is their version of white. As can be seen by the pictures, it is not white. It did match the color chip they brought to our house AFTER the door was installed. Again, this is YOUR business and you should know this when you sell a "white" door to a customer who orders from you on the phone based on a brochure. As to the "independent contractor" YOU recommended, he was asked to add two 2x4 pieces to buffer the areas he removed in order to ensure proper support of a large beam. This is not out of the realm of the job he was doing. He obliged and was paid in full and on time. I posted reviews of our experience with you on several sites so that others who search for garage doors will have a full and factual picture of our experience. That is what these sites and reviews are for. Yvette, We are writing in response to your recent email, in which you threatened legal action if we do not pay in full for a garage door that we neither approved nor are satisfied with. Let us be absolutely clear: your company failed to deliver the product we reasonably expected. Your technician came to our home, took measurements, and handed us a brochure from which we selected a white garage door. We were not shown a physical color sample or informed that the manufacturer's "white" would be gray. We reasonably relied on your expertise and representations, and what was delivered does not meet those expectations. Your statement regarding that you truly hoped to resolve this amicably is insulting. You did nothing to offer a resolution. We have decided to complete payment and end our discussion with you. Your company and the way you handled this matter show how little you care to meet your customers' expectations. On Monday, May 12, 2025 at 10:46:05 AM EDT, Queen Able queenable@nydoors.com wrote: Dear Iris, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to follow up on our recent conversations regarding the garage door installation. As previously explained, the door installed is the manufacturer's standard white, which is the white they offer. Any deviation from that color would have required a custom order and powder coating, which comes at a significantly higher cost. Per our written communications and your deposit, there is a valid contract between us. As such, the remaining balance is due in full. We were advised that if we are forced to remove the installed door, we would be entitled to collect the following from you: The full cost of the door and opener Labor costs for both installation and removal Lost wages associated with this project We truly hoped to resolve this matter amicably, but if the outstanding balance is not paid promptly, we will have no choice but to begin legal proceedings to recover the amount owed. This will serve as our final attempt to resolve this matter before pursuing legal action. To avoid further proceedings, please ensure payment is received by May 16th. Second of all you mentioned nothing about custom made saddles or me possibly confusing you for some other businesses, which is not possible because the employee from 2 weeks ago gave me your business card and I hadn't visited any other independent tile shops before you. Third of all why would I want to continue talking to someone that is evidently so rude to me for no reason from the jump? Me not wanting to talk to you after seeing your disrespectful demeanor isn't an attack and neither is me writing an honest review. As per my original review, if you weren't so rude from the beginning and politely told me I was misinformed I would have been willing to have a conversation. I'm all for supporting small businesses especially during the pandemic but not if the owner talks to and about me like this. This has to be the most unprofessional response I've ever encountered from a business. I was generous for giving you 2 stars.

Our kitchen was long overdue for a remodel. We lived for 25 years with a kitchen that made cooking…read morea challenge from a cramped workspace, wrong location of appliances and a postage stamp sized countertop surface. Although we were apprehensive about this endeavor, it was time. A trusted colleague highly recommended Artista Kitchen Designs to help us transform our kitchen. We walked into Artista on a Saturday afternoon in April without an appointment. Mike, the owner, greeted us with a friendly smile and engaged us in a conversation about our project. He asked us to describe what we wanted in our kitchen and he attentively listened to our wish list. He walked us through the showroom to give us ideas about cabinet styles, colors and functionality. We immediately felt comfortable with Mike and set up a home visit to begin the design process. Mike sent us an email thanking us for stopping in, added links for us to look at kitchen redesigns for inspiration and confirmed our appointment for the following Saturday. Mike showed up to our house, on time, and took a few minutes to survey the kitchen that took him back to 1985. He asked how we managed to make it work with limited space. As he sketched and measured he assured us that the new kitchen would provide us with ample space to work and countertops for prepping. Two weeks after the visit, we were invited back to the showroom to review the proposed plans. The plans reflected EVERYTHING we had discussed. Without increasing the footprint of the kitchen, Mike designed a space that maximized flow and functionality and allowed for a perfect gathering spot in the heart of our home. He carefully walked us through the drawings, making sure we were in agreement with the new layout. Mike described the high quality of wood cabinets for the job and gave us a quick education about cabinet styles, hinges and trending features. He routinely said, "This is your kitchen and I want to get it right for you." Mike described the renovation process including; timelines for ordering materials, demolition, installation and wrap-up. He also provided us with a detailed list of contractors, vendors and supply services. Shopping for appliances, the sink and faucet and stone was a pleasure and everyone said, "Mike from Artista is incredible; you'll be so happy." We hired the contractor recommended by Mike. It was a great decision and we were so grateful for his workmanship and professionalism. Their partnership made this process seamless. Demolition began, as scheduled, on August 19 and three weeks later cabinets were delivered, as expected. Installation updates, coordination of deliveries and questions were communicated directly between the contractor, vendors and Mike giving us a strong sense of security and confidence in the people working on our kitchen renovation. Every person we worked with; contractors, electricians and plumbers were AMAZING and they treated our home like it was their own! Mike was beyond helpful when we struggled finding a countertop and backsplash. (In addition to kitchen design, Mike is a marriage counselor.) Mike personally helped us select the hardware to create a cohesive vibe for the new kitchen. He inspected each cabinet after installation and made a punch list of open items. His attention to detail is refreshing. Our kitchen transformation was completed October 30. It was delivered on time, on budget and surpassed our every expectation. As a designer, Mike carefully listened to our vision and put together a plan that fit the needs of our family. He steered us in the decision making process to stay on budget. Mike maintained an open line of communication, quickly responding to emails and texts, following-up and following through with every question, concern or request. He established a high level of trust and respect that resulted with happy customers. We are enjoying our new kitchen; the storage, prep space and workflow leave us thinking, how did we function before? With Thanksgiving around the corner, we are grateful to Mike from Artista, his knowledge and expertise that will give us a lifetime of memories in our beautiful kitchen.
