Great food, and friendly service. Best breakfast in town. Huge biscuits, and their dinners are really good too.

Walking into the pub and heading to the back room where the bar is, it was hard not to reminisce of my time spent in Ireland. The restaurant has a vintage Irish pub decor and a friendly atmosphere. The perfect place to go spend time with family and friends. We sat at the bar and our bartender (Sandy) was absolutely fantastic! She was accommodating, humorous, and just made you feel like you were apart of her family. She made a really great Moscow Mule and a tasty version of a Long Island iced tea I've never had before. I hope to go again soon to try some more food varieties, but on this stop, I had the shepherds pie and was able to try some of the hummus and pita bread. Both I highly recommend and worth giving it a go. I look forward to my next visit! Stop on by and give Port city pub some love.

They have a pretty good sized menu with enough choices to suit most anyone. I had the fish and chips, the fish was fried crisp and was tender, mild and flaky. Our server was excellent, he checked back often to see if we needed anything or to make sure our food was good. There was live music that was starting as we got seated, the performer was very good. The restaurant seemed clean and it was big enough to be comfortable and not too big so it was sort of a cozy dining experience. I will definitely stop in again if I'm at the right place and the right time!!

The place was clean. I ordered traditional hot wings and onion rings. I wish I had ordered the wing sauce on the side. They were like being smothered in soup. But, otherwise, good! DISCLAIMER: I have had really good BBQ and I have made really good BBQ…read more Have you ever really wanted something so bad but what you got was so disappointing that you still wanted what you wanted in the first place? Well, that is the feeling you will have if you want BBQ and you come here. The customer waiting motioned to me and said, "what ever you do, don't get the mashed potatoes, they are too salty to even eat". Then I told the waitress I was struggling between the pulled pork and chicken which she replied with "if you are going to get any of the meat, the brisket is the only thing worth eating". That was a story made up, the lukewarm to cold brisket was fatty and flavorless...no smoke ring, no crisp, no flavor...gummy and tasteless. My son had their mixture of with a split with pork, chicken, sausage, and mac and cheese. He asked for no slaw and extra mac and cheese instead. The kitchen person came out yelling over to the waitress "did anyone tell them it is just a spoonful so there is no "extra" for not getting it (with air quotes) for her emphasis...we are sitting up front and can hear and see it all. Rude service free of charge. The baked beans were average for canned baked beans microwaved, as we heard the microwave go off and then our food came out. The Mac and cheese was even rejected by our 3 year old granddaughter, so that should be alarming by itself. The potato salad was much like what is in the buckets from Sam's Club. So overall, disappointing would be an improvement. The team was lacklusting, the food would be more satisfying if we chewed on napkins and plates. The service rude at best. The pricing was overreaching. Save your tastebuds, save your money. If this is your last option, it is a good time to start fasting instead of punishing yourself.

We are not big fans of fast food and love getting to see towns off the routine road with their warts, charms, and peculiarities. Also, we almost always find great places to stop and eat that I'm sad more people won't venture off the highway a bit to enjoy. Happenings was this kind of place. Simple decor, it was all about the food, and clearly, the locals know they have a gem. And then there is Jeff, the owner! Jeff takes great pride in his food and his staff. He doesn't just greet customers, he engages and entertains them. Within minutes, we felt we were talking to an old friend we just hadn't seen in a while. Jeff takes great pride in his food and challenges you to prove him wrong. He was open to changes, too, and then, as we finished, came out to see if it lived up to his bragging, and it did! Honestly, this is the kind of place we wish were closer so we could become regulars, and Jeff was the kind of business owner you want to get to know and become friends with. We will go out of our way to stop in Happenings again. Sadly, we only pass this way 4-5 times a year. But that's ok, Jeff will make us feel like we never left.

The service hasn't impressed me either; the staff seems unenthusiastic and like they'd rather be anywhere else. To top it off, I witnessed some unsavory practices, like food being left out on the counter without proper plates. Specks of dirty in the drinks. #dirtycups The drama that goes on there doesn't help either. Maybe it's time to take their business elsewhere? The ambience i guess clean but it was chilly today.

We had to wait a few minutes so they could pull tables together for our large group. I was super impressed by our server Britnie! She took our orders six at a time. She did not write down anything even though there were so many different options with everyone's meals. And all of our orders came out just as we requested. Not only was she efficient but she was also pleasant which made our visit that much sweeter. I do not drink coffee but most of my family does and she brought out a fresh pot several times to reheat everyone cup. I started with a hot chocolate topped with whipped cream which was great on a chilly January morning in Ohio. I ordered the Everything Breakfast which included eggs, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, hollandaise sauce with green onions served on a bed of hash browns. I enjoyed everything on my plate except the grilled biscuit. The biscuit was overcooked and too hard for consumption. The restaurant was remodeled in the last few years and was nice, cozy and clean. Glad I checked out the new and improved Bob Evans. You should too.
