The KOA itself is clean and quiet, and the grounds are well maintained. Unfortunately, the check-in staff was not very friendly and seemed to rush me through the process, even though I was the only customer at the time. Cher was wonderful, though -- she showed us to our site and was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is quite old, and the noise from trains blowing their horns at night and planes overhead became tiring quickly. That said, this is obviously no fault of the KOA. Overall, the campground does have a lot to offer, and we appreciated the cleanliness and helpfulness once we were settled in. read more

Very well-maintained site! We stayed here for a night in a tent spot, and it was perfect for what we needed. The bathrooms were clean, there was 2 pools, and everyone was very friendly. Each spot had a bear box and a covered picnic table. read more

This was just an overnight stop for us, but we would've been happy to spend a longer time here! What a gem! Friendly staff, large park, lots of trees, spacious gravel sites, very clean grounds and amenities, 2 pools, an onsite restaurant and a well stocked registration area. They have several upgrade options to some sites...a double deck patio, outdoor kitchen, fire place...choose the level you want! They also have sites that are covered, which is super deluxe. I did read a review that said the area was sketchy, but it felt very safe to us. I didn't see anything funky outside or inside the park. It did look like it's in an older section of town, but don't hesitate to stay here! We loved it. read more

y Days KOA Tucson has been a great stay for our family while my husband was in Tucson for work for a week. We were grateful to have this koa and not have to do an air bnb or hotel. There was several standout features that made it a highly recommended RV park. Here are some of the highlights: 1. BBQ Rush Restaurant: The park is home to the BBQ Rush restaurant, which serves delicious food. The menu offers a variety of options from bbq to INDIAN FOOD sayyy what???? I was pleasantly shocked to see Indian food on an RV park barbecue menu! and it was GOOD! the flavors are outstanding. Whether you're a meat lover or prefer vegetarian dishes, Indian, Mexican, or American food they have you covered! They also have great happy hour specials. they also deliver food to the pool and your campsite which is a wonderful feature! Mary was our server the whole time and she was the sweetest waitress you could ever ask for. She was definitely a highlight for us on our stay here. 2. Pool and Hot Tub: Lazy Days KOA Tucson features a nice pool and hot tub area. The pool is clean and well-maintained, providing a refreshing escape from the heat. The hot tub is perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a long day! Great waterfall feature and the restaurant delivers food and drinks to the pool as well as to your campsite. 3. Spacious and Well-Designed Sites: The park offers a variety of spacious and well-designed sites. There are plenty of options to choose from, and each site provides a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience a lot of the sites have their own dog gate area and dog park on the site. There are covered campsites and there are also cabins if you don't have a trailer. The park itself is large and beautifully landscaped, with lots of fruit trees. creating a serene and peaceful environment. 4. Activities for Kids: Families with kids will appreciate the abundance of activities available at Lazy Days KOA Tucson. From playgrounds to organized games and events, there is always something fun for the little ones to enjoy. The park staff goes above and beyond to ensure that children have a memorable and fun-filled stay. Every day there is a new activity, usually multiple from craft events to ice cream, socials and wine socials for the adults. 5. We have been coming here for several years and had great experiences, but the management has changed and the vibe is different. We rented a cabin. Dogs are supposedly welcome and we have had 2 dogs, a small short haired terrier and a medium sized hound, who also has short hair, in a cabin there before with no problem. When we checked out this time, we were charged an additional $25 fee on top of the$25 dog fee we already paid, because they claimed there was excessive dog hair. We swept the floor and cleaned up before leaving and have always done this before we check out. read more

My family and I have stayed at the Tucson KOA for many years and have always enjoyed our visits, which makes this recent experience especially disappointing. To be fair, this KOA location is a great place for families and kids, with many activities, amenities, and a fun atmosphere that has kept us coming back over the years. That is why this situation was so surprising and frustrating. After our latest stay, we were charged an additional $25 cleaning fee for what management described as "excess dog hair," despite paying the standard pet fee that is intended to cover normal cleaning associated with pets. We left the 2-room cabin in good condition, and there was nothing visibly excessive that would reasonably justify an additional charge or an alleged extra 30 minutes of cleaning. Furthermore, our dog did not spend any time in one of the bedrooms, which further reinforces that there could not have been any significant accumulation of pet hair throughout the cabin--certainly not to a degree that would justify an additional 30 minutes of cleaning. What was most frustrating was the highly subjective nature of the assessment and the lack of any clear standard for what management considers "excessive." Unfortunately, when I attempted to discuss the matter, the interaction left me with the impression that the new management operates with a far more rigid and somewhat vindictive style than what we experienced in previous years. Longtime loyal customers should be treated with fairness, consistency, and reasonable judgment. Sadly, this experience has significantly changed our perception of this location. read more

Surprised by the reviews. We stayed a week and it was alright but I would not stay here again. First of all, the noise was awful. We had a sound machine on full blast and was constantly woken up all night by the highway noise along with random fireworks 2/7 of the nights. Not to say the fireworks were the fault of the koa but it was just LOUD. We left exhausted from our stay. This was one of the loudest campgrounds I've ever stayed at. The other campers were quiet which was surprising for how big this place is. The staff wasn't super friendly either. We got *shouted* at by a worker on a golf cart for going 12mph, 2mph over the speed limit. One day I went to their store at 7:35 which opened at 7:30 and the doors were locked. The worker in there just looked at me then back down at the cash registered. I waited 5 more minutes and then finally left. The bathrooms were all disappointing. 3 toilets and showers per gender for ALL those campers. I believe another in the main building had 2. Sometimes the stalls were pretty nasty but understandable with so many people using so few toilets. Pros included lots of fruit trees and curb trash pick up. It was also well maintained and clean. read more

This koa is nice. We stopped here on a trip east. They have it all. Pool hot tub putting green pickle ball etc. also a restaurant on site as well as fire pits and games. We got a pull through which was pretty level. The pads are rocks with concrete patio. Some are even covered if coming in summer. In my experience koa are a hit or miss. This one is a hit. Only thing that could have made it better is more grass for dogs but I get here not a good idea. Also concrete pads instead of rocks but other than that it's great. read more

This park gave us a lot to write about with several pros and also cons. Pros, clean park, with spacious spot if you pay for the larger spots, clean bathroom and shower, with many through the park. Many Activities throughout out the parks to keep kids busy, along with a Mexican restaurant and bar. The bar has beer and basic cocktail. I asked the bartender for an old fashioned and a Manhattan and she started at me blankly. The fruit trees throughout the park are great and provide great shade. You're also allowed to pick the fruit for free. The grapefruits were delicious. Many attractions close by. If you're into whiskey and pizza,Batch and Jamies are a must. Now the cons, Definitely not loctated in the best side of Tucson, several homeless encampments around. One gate has security in the evening, but the other gate has no security and is open all night and day, the bathrooms do not have codes. Too many long term stay with not so friendly people. It's pet friendly and we also own a dog, but too many dogs barking at all hours with them tied up outside. The speed limits with in the park are only a suggestion, when even the employees on golf carts are zooming around. Having an end premium lot we got to see a lot of it. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, highway, railroad and air traffic noise especially in the early morning is definitely something to consider. So if you're a family, that can sleep through anything, this is the place for you to enjoy. If you're a retired couple who is use to more quiet this may be off putting. But overall it a solid 4 stars. They definitely try. read more

Cher, who assisted us at check-in, was absolutely fantastic--friendly, helpful, and truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth. We got a spacious pull-thru site, and when we encountered some RV issues, Cher recommended a trusted repair professional who quickly resolved the problem. The park itself was super clean, and the customer service was outstanding. Although we only stayed for one night and didn't get to enjoy all the amenities, everything looked well-maintained and inviting. Wow! This is not just camping, it's glamping!! Located within 20 minutes of downtown Tucson, saguaro national park, and a load of national parks and monuments, this is a great place to stop for R&R. This is not the type of camping I did as a kid. This campground includes a wonderful reception center with the restaurant and bar on site. Food can be ordered from the restaurant and it will be delivered to your site. Daily activities are available for folks staying here. While we were here, we participated in an ice cream, social, and looking forward to high stakes bingo and even the pancake breakfast that's held on Sunday mornings. A mini putt putt golf course is spread throughout the complex and there are two swimming pools and hot tubs available for visitors. The complex includes a state of the art fitness center, multiple laundry, facilities, showers, and a number of amenities I can't even recall at the moment! While a little pricier than a standard campground this is certainly a destination for a number of snowbirds. The complex is exceptionally secure and amazingly maintained. There are special programs for kids on the site as well. Pets are allowed to so be prepared for barking dogs occasionally throughout the campground. Throughout the day groundskeepers roam the area in golf carts ready to attend to your every need. Garbage is picked up from site, maintenance is available as needed, and are they are available to answer any questions you might have. If you forgot something, the folks at the front desk can help. Wood can be ordered and delivered to site. Propane refills are available on the property. RV supply stores are in abundance around the area. RV repairs will even come to your site if necessary. Each of the campsites is unique. There are a number of campsites that include sundecks, televisions, and fire pits. Others include fenced in pet areas, and there are even some that include outdoor kitchens and fireplaces. Fruit trees are planted throughout the complex, and guests are encouraged to come get fruit, picking equipment for the main building and help themselves to produce daily! All of the roads are well paved, which allows for running, and or walking within the security of the complex. Nearby bike trails allow those who want to wander further a nice and safe area to access Bicycle rentals, golf cart, rentals, and a number of other services are available from the Campground headquarters. It is a rather large campground with several hundred hundred campsites that accommodate a range from tents to high-end RV homes. Cabin rentals are also available on the property although they are limited. Remember that this is in an urban destination, so ambient noise from roads, trains, planes, etc. should be expected. This is an exceptionally popular destinations so reservations in advance are required and strongly encouraged. My husband and I don't even know where to start...we arrived and there was karaoke in the restaurant. We were given a schedule of activities! We were only staying the one night, so we didn't even get a chance to go in the heated pool with the mountains in the background and a waterfall off to the side. The sites are solar powered! Really nice campground. We needed to shower to rush to a dinner reservation, so we used theirs as we didn't have time to heat our water. Gorgeous slate flooring and walls, amazing water pressure, and a shelf that is actually big enough for your toiletries. About a dozen washers and a dozen dryers. We did 3 loads! In between the laundry and bathrooms is a really nice fitness center. When we checked out we asked where the closest place to get propane is...apparently it is onsite! Best KOA ever! Driving cross country and just needed a safe place to stay with easy on/off. This was a great choice!! Pulled in just before 5pm and had booked a spot with the private fenced dog pen. I wish more RV parks offered this option - it was awesome! Our dog is older, doesn't listen and it's constantly a struggle setting up camp while working around the dog. Here - just put the dog into the pen, let him sniff up all those smells and have some freedom while doing what we needed to do. Oh - and to have the dog on grass instead of dirt and even have a tree - winning! They close a gate at night for added security but you can always call their night guard if you're arriving late. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick overnight in the Tucson area. read more

This may look on the surface like a nice park overall, but our experience was lacking, especially for the exorbitant price. I traveled through with my parents in their RV, and we reserved a site with a private fenced dog area. While it was an extra amenity, it cost almost $100, which is twice what we've paid at other parks along our journeys. What was truly disappointing, though, was how filthy the dog run was. The grass was overgrown, and it was full of landmines of dog waste. How full? Try SIX bags that I picked up in the pen alone, and I didn't even get all of it. It was the grossest, most unsanitary place we've put our dogs, and we were worried for their health. While there was metal furniture at the site, one chair was broken and almost collapsed, and we could not enjoy our time outside because of the massive amount of flies, spiders, and mosquitoes at the site. We've all camped a lot, and none of us had ever seen so many bugs in one place, especially the flies. Maybe it was due to the filthy dog run. The real kicker, though, came at 7:15 in the morning when we got to listen to someone on the other side of the fence fire a semi-automatic rifle repeatedly. The neighborhood surrounding the park is pretty rough, but that is a new level of too much. read more

Spend two months there Feb/Mar. This is by far the most beautiful KOA we have stayed at (over 20 KOAs and counting). Sites are huge and the resort is very nice. Bike/running path is about half mile away and it's a 57 mile loop around the city. Tucson is a big enough city and the weather is nice in Feb/Mar. Multiple K9 Camps and walking all the lanes on the campground is about 3 miles or 5 KMs so no need to venture out the gate if you don't want to. The activities are endless and BBQ Rush restaurant is a nice break from cooking. Pools and hot tubs are great. There are Orange, Grapefruit and Lemon trees all over the park. We are already booked for Feb/Mar 2025. read more

Spent two evenings at this KOA campground in Tucson, Arizona. The RV campsites were pretty spacious for the most part. It seemed that many of the sites also had a fruit tree which was really cool to see. Our site even had a two story patio. We did not spend too much time outside because the temperature was soaring above 100 degrees!! No shade on the second floor. The property looks terrific for the most part. Nice playground for the kids. Fitness center had a quite bit of cardio equipment that appeared to be in good shape. The pool areas were well kept. They have an onsite bbq restaurant which we were unable to try, but still nice to have on the property. My only complaint would be that the Men's restroom was not well maintained. Both days, the restrooms were not swept up, stocked, or cleaned. Quite disappointing especially considering that everything else on the property was looking great. Would I stay here again? Yeah, if the price is reasonable. read more

The campground was busy, but after the sun went down was quiet. Others staying there were also very friendly. Multiple designated places for dogs to run around off leash. A variety of camp sites available, including several with paw pens. Our campsite was gravel with a concrete pad that had a table and chairs. Bathroom and showers were clean. Coin operated laundromat is simple and worked great. We felt safe there, it is a gated park so it's only registered campers. Check in was simple and quickly completed. Great service for last minute booking. Bathrooms very clean. Older (if you were a kid in the 80s, think what a bathroom at the best sleep away camp you went to looks like) but plenty of hot water and locking exterior exit doors for added security. Clearly lots of campers there for longer stays. They have a nice office setup with coffee, a schedule of card games and social stuff for campers, and some vending machines. When we booked our reservation, I made sure to get a paw pen, which is a wrought iron fenced pen with grass for your dog. When I put my little Papillon send he ran right through the bars, so I was never able to use it. Then I noticed that about a third of their pens had been retrofit with wire to fix this. There is no information about this on the website, and if you call the office and try to make the reservation with a pen that will work for a small dog, they have no information. But they are more than happy to charge you for a pen that can't work for you. There is no excuse for this. Clearly, they are aware of the problem because they have fixed some of the pins and not information. Should be on the website and available when you talk to a representative. read more

TENT CAMPING REVIEW: There are not enough tent camping reviews so I'm adding mine. Let's just say that I came at a good time (10-4-2019). It was very empty and peaceful. I have been to KOAs before but this one really should rename themselves - with just 4 camp sites, they are an RV resort, plain and simple. The camp sites are very close to bathrooms, a pool/hot tub and a laundry room and each site has a shaded enclosure, running water, a tent pad, a fire pit, a picnic table, an electrical outlet, and a lock box. That being said, here are some things that you need to know if you will be tent camping: 1. THERE ARE NO GRILLS. If you wish to grill, you will have to bring your own or buy one from them. The fire pits are not for cooking, which I found out the hard way. Luckily, they let me use an old fire pit for cooking or else I would have been hungry (I budgeted for the restaurant on only one of my nights). 2. You CANNOT stake your tent. The pad is not the ground. Make sure you find another way to anchor it down in case of wind. 3. The shaded enclosure WILL NOT protect you if it rains so plan accordingly. 4. Noise. I'm from Tucson. This getaway was for my birthday so I could enjoy the amenities. However, this KOA is in a bad part of town. So, all night I heard honking, people shouting, dogs barking, tires screeching, engines revving, etc. BRING EAR PLUGS if you actually want to sleep in a tent. 5. The free WiFi is BASIC ONLY and cuts out often. If you want to do anything more than check your email, you have to pay for higher speed. However, after signing up for the basic and realizing that I wanted more speed, I could not find a way to upgrade. I searched all the literature that they gave me and online but with no luck. Take my advice, decide before you sign up if you want to stream or not. That's your only chance. 6. Bring a lock for the lock box. There are no locks to rent or borrow that I found. So, there you have it. A tent camping review of the Tucson KOA before the influx of RVs. Overall, it was nice but I really wish I'd known a few things before booking, especially about grilling. Their website does not say much about tenting and it would have made a difference in planning for me had I had a review like this. read more

Second time using this particular KOA, booked right through the app. Check in was a breeze. Campground is laid out logically. Both times I chose a full size pull-through, just to keep things simple as the first time I knew I'd be arriving late, and as a pro tip for ya, the town of Tucson has a "light ordinance" so at night, it is DARK DARK. So if you plan on showing up at night, better have a flashlight to guide ya back because I'm telling you it is DARK. The price is about $85 a night for the full-hookups, 30/50 amp service, cable tv (didn't use) and wifi (didn't use) The thing I appreciated about this particular KOA was the wide roads. Real logical layout. I also LOVED the fact that almost all the sites have fruit trees. Our one trip we had a lemon tree and this trip we had a orange tree. Fun! I did use the shower facilities, and they were clean every time I used them. Water pressure was great. There is the typical sundries and gift shop at check-in. All staff were welcoming and pleasant. There's a dog walk area. This particular campground clientele both time was "Snow Birds." Quiet, chill, happy older folks. The campground is also very quiet at night. Not much highway noise. Easy in and out. I didn't do too much exploring on site,but I know there is lots there, like a heated pool, laundry facility, game room, gym, dog area, fire pit areas. Extremely clean. Easy to navigate. Wide paths. Another stellar KOA! Would return, would recommend ! read more

It's a really nice resort campground. The WiFi is okay right now for checking mail, using Yelp. The WiFi seemed better last fall. Fruit trees are nice. Sites are nice and level. Staff was friendly.
