a close up of a taco

Walked in not knowing it was a vegan joint. Randomly walked in assuming it was a Mexican joint but was pleased with the overall restaurant and their menu. Ordered the black bean bowl, everything was packed neatly for take out. A good amount of various fresh toppings, sauce, and seasoning. It was a good bowl but the rice did not cut it. It just did not blend in right in my opinion, think a different grain or flavor would have been better. Would go again to try their other options such as the chili, burritos, just seen online their jackfruit sandwich. Nice clean place with good takeout/delivery app packaging. It's great to have a vegetarian/vegan option that doesn't solely rely on commercial vegan products for their dishes.

La playa tacos.

These were some pretty darn good tacos! I tried the phish tacos and the la playa ones, both were delicious (however the phish taco was definitely my favourite). The atmosphere is really relaxed and inviting, with great service. Prices for a vegan place were not too bad either, with lots of different options. I was checking out the other food everyone was ordering and it all looked delicious. The washrooms were also very clean, as well as the restaurant itself. The only thing I would mention is that the seats were a bit uncomfortable but considering how great everything else was this was a very minor thing.

A nice addition to the local restaurant scene. As may have already been mentioned in other reviews, the atmosphere is reminiscent of what you might find in downtown Toronto - energetic, hipster, trendy. Very cute and lively indoor seating area and patio. The location is a bit out of the way, and not in the finest neighbourhood, but it would appear as though there is an attempt to add more colourful businesses to the area (which will help change the scene). That being said, this place is pure vegan Mexican. There's a decent amount of choice, but I wish there were more, particularly with regards to desserts and beverages; there was a decent alcohol list, but no Mexican beverage staples, like horchata. I had quesadillas and shared regular nachos. Having never tried vegan meals before, my palate didn't notice the dairy and meat alternatives. Both dishes were delicious. The nachos were a generous portion, but I felt there could be more to the quesadillas. There were four pieces offered with some sides (beans, etc) but I felt the quesadillas themselves were super tiny. Perhaps add a fifth quesadilla, or make three that are larger? I just felt I devoured them and still hungered for more, so I wouldn't recommend them as your only good order if you were super hungry. The price was fairly decent - no real complains there. Service was slow, but our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. It is a small joint, so I can imagine how busy their kitchen is on a busy night (and on a weekday evening, it was very busy - great sign!). The wait is worth it, but don't come in super famished. All in all, worth a try if you're interested in something different with a hip vibe. Fun fact: just a bit up the street are some filming locations for the Canadian show Letterkenny (the convenience store and the pub). Pretty neat for a fan like me!

Great place for anyone vegan. They have stars beside any meals or parts of meals that have gluten. There are a variety of gluten-free options. A great place for anyone with dietary restrictions. I would recommend it to those who aren't vegan as well. Although, the menu may look a little bit intimidating to someone unfamiliar with a more plant based diet. The food is great, the meals are big and the atmosphere is nice too. The best time of year to go to Tucos is the summertime because of there nice patio seating. You will also be able to walk across the street to Beards or Flurples. Beards and Flurples are two other completely vegan shops. Beards is a coffee shop and bakery and Flurples is an ice cream shop (both offer gluten-free options as well). Great places to go grab some dessert after your meal at Tucos.

This is my favourite go to place to eat, and im not even vegan!! Loved everything I tried there so far.. the Chili, the Nachos with chili on top, the taco salad burrito, the phish tacos and pineapple tacos are all amazing! Great drink and beer selection and even better patio! I highly recomend this gem!

Excellent. Five of us went and all loved it and were satisfied. I had burrito bowl - very nice. One kid had nachos - huge & yummy. One kid has tacos and loved them - three fair sized tacos. One kid had sopas & enjoyed them & was full. Hubby had burrito and was pleasantly surprised it was vegan, was satisfied & said it tasted like a burrito. Everyone enjoyed the jackfruit as a pulled pork replacement. The service was pleasant & we ate outside. The place was packed but it is very nice. Prices are reasonable.

The torta was amazing!! I can't wait to come back and try something else.

I was a little worried about eating at a vegetarian place and pretty much just order what they suggested. I had the torta and it was amazing!! I will come back here again and again. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff. The vibe was relaxed and fun. The food fresh and delicious. I can't say anything bad about this place.

Oscar's Grill - I found the Santa Fe Salad was not fantastic.

WTF Sudbury!! what a big disappointment…read more We went out for a nice dinner and saw this very appealing place called Oscar's and we thought we'd try it. we were directed towards a table and were served by Anthony who was very nice. He assisted us with a good choice of wine. We ordered our foods and got our soup in due time. It was good. Then we waited and waited and waited. We inquired about the main course and 1.5 hours later they had not started on "fish and chips and Caesar salad"?? People that arrive after us had food served. We cancelled the main course and the manager was not very accommodating nor sympathetic towards our situation. We paid and left. I cannot recommend the food as we never got it, but the service needs adjustment. Good luck... businesses like this don't last very long. it's too bad as Sudbury really needs to up their eatery establishment.

But we had just eaten next door. So here we are ready to people watch and enjoy the music. But no. The 'windows ' were closed. The ambiance was subdued. We inquired about the difference and was given a snarky response about the heat and humidity and that maybe later they would open things up. Food*****The El Diablo.... (Dang it!) EL FUEGO.. got mixed reviews at our table. Two of our party ordered it, and one inhaled it, while the other was disappointed that 'jalapeño bacon' wasn't the same as 'jalapeño AND bacon'. I made the same mistake while reading the menu. My husband ordered the ribs, and couldn't stop going on about how good the slaw was. So much more than cabbage, if you have never tried it you should give it a go. I had the Santa Fe salad. With descriptions like 'roasted ' and 'grilled ' I expected a warm dish with the flavor profiles of SoCal-Tex-Mex. I was surprised when I was served a ice cold chilled dish that consisted mostly of quinoa tossed in a very sweet vinaigrette. (****edit: looks like they changed the name and description of this menu item. Eliminating any confusion) No worries. My lunch the next day was left over Santa Fe with added corn, chickpeas, more cilantro and fresh lemon juice. (There are no leftovers). If you go there at the right time the windows are wide open and prime for fresh air and people watching.

If you ever want to be blatantly insulted or accused of looking/being a drug addict, dine here. I…read moreunderstand having to buy something to use the washroom in an emergency so I offered to buy a drink was told I couldn't buy a drink to use the washroom so I offered to buy anything in order to use their washroom because it was an emergency and still was judged and looked at like I was trash on the street and was going to use their washroom to do drugs. If you want to be judged and probably gossiped about by the staff in the back dine here. Unprofessional, if you're gonna accuse someone of being a drug addict why not just ask? Crazy that nowadays you have to say the reason and how long you're gonna take to use the washroom. Here's my reason: had water coming out of my azz from a medication I am taking... almost costed me to sh!t myself in public and make a scene. It already was a scene because all of the customers were looking at me in disgust just because I asked to use the washroom. Thanks for not only ruining my day but for ruining my self confidence because apparently I look like a drug addict. Such a lovely business 0/10 would recommend. Below average food and even worse customer service and atmosphere.
