Our 9 year old started here several months ago, and it has changed his life. We have tried introducing him to martial arts half a dozen times before but he was always so anxiety ridden, so nervous, and so uncomfortable that we felt like we were forcing him and only creating an issue for him. He came to visit the dojang and see Master Tucker in action with a group of kids. He immediately felt safe, completely comfortable in the environment and he was ready to sign up. That's the effect Mr. Tucker has on kids. He is such a great role model, male figure, and instructor for these students. Our son's confidence has blossomed. His ability to control his anger and emotions has impressed us as he has made leaps and bounds. He's more grounded. He is passionate about karate and other aspects in his life. My grandson Alex is a 12 year old energetic young man who happens to suffer with Autism, ADHD and other medical issues. He started at Tucker's Tang Soo Do last October and I am amazed at the progress he has made with his attitude, self confidence, coordination, strength, self control, and his ability to focus, as well as his improved behavior and learning to respect others. My son started with Tucker's 7 years ago. Five years ago, I joined him. He is now a 2nd Degree Black Belt and I am a 1st Degree. The changes in both our confidence levels are amazing! Tucker's Tang Soo Do is a great place to learn self defense and to take karate! I have trained with Aaron Tucker( head instructor) and Chason Tucker( his son. He is also an instructor) for almost 2 years, and I am a Red belt with a white stripe.I highly recommend TTSD( Tucker's Tang Soo Do) for anyone who would like to learn Martial Arts. I enjoyed the Krav class and self defense classes I took, but my husband and I are most grateful for the growth we've seen in our son since enrolling him. He's got a ways to go, but he's doing better and is expected to meet and overcome challenges. There's a sense of pride that comes with knowing you earned the belt, medal, or trophy you received. He's more prepared physically and emotionally to stop a bully. He has more confidence now, especially in sparring. Fantastic full featured facility for all ages and skill levels. Teaches physical fitness, discipline, and respect all while learning self defence. We called for information on the classes offered at Tucker's Tang Soo Do for our children Bobby (9) and Emily (7) Mr. Tucker invited us to try 2 weeks of free classes. When we arrived we were greeted and were made to feel like we were among friends. Mr. Tucker and Chason were both great with our kids. We had tried another school in Foley and were second guessing the whole martial arts thing, we are so glad we found Tucker's Tang Soo Do, they are great instructors, my kids love the high energy classes, they keep the kids engaged and ready to come back for more. My son has been going to classes for a little over a year now, he started in tiny tigers at 5 and he absolutely loved and had so much fun in every class. Master Tucker and his son Chason are by far the best instructors around. I say this based on having trained at two other local karate schools, one an MMA school the other a Tae Kwon Do school. Can't say enough good things about this organization. Mr. Tucker and his instructors provide fun and versatile training to keep my boys attention. If you are looking to work up a sweat and learn to defend your self or your family from real world threats hen you need to meet Mr. Tucker. He is very knowledgeable in the ways of self defense. I've trained in Tae Kwon Do and MMA, both of which were fun but neither taught me to survive a vicious knife attack on the street. My daughter absolutely loves going to karate here. She has only been here for a few months but she is always running out the door, ready to head to karate! The instructor is very good with the kids.
