After examining a copy of the picture I had emailed to Judy, she agreed to take on the task of restoring it. We met at a location convenient to both of us and I gave her the photo. Judy was able to erase the damaged spots on the photo and restore the image beautifully. I was totally delighted with the result. I had two VHS tapes converted to mp4. Pro: The conversion worked well. The VHS tapes were handled well and survived. The files are good quality. The price was reasonable. I am glad to have a physical store to go to. The time needed was about what they estimated. Con: After I left the store with the second flash drive and got home i found the drive was empty, no file. I called then the next morning and described the issue. The guy said "bummer". He asked if i had checked the drive before leaving the store. I replied no, although the answer seemed obvious to me. I guess he was indicating that this was my fault somehow. I could have asked him the same thing, ''did you check that the transfer service to the drive was completed before you told me it was and sent me home?", but i didn't. He checked that they still had the file on their system and could give it to me if i came back in. This went smoothly and i asked whether i could have a discount for the inconvenience of the second trip (20 minutes each way). He related that since I had provided them with my own flash drive, and that was likely the issue that led to the empty drive, he wouldn't offer a discount. He offered me two reasons why this was my fault, but didn't offer any apology for the inconveience or indication that he felt he had any role in what happened. Honestly, if i had heard him use the word, 'sorry' a single time this would have been a very different review. To be clear, I DID ask to not buy their drive (another expense) but rather asked if they would use a new drive i had that was still in the wrapper. They agreed to that and it may have been the reason for the empty drive. But I would recommend that they add a check to their process that the file is transferred properly before giving it to customers.

I recently brought in a VHS tape to be transferred to DVD as a gift to my boyfriend's mother, and…read morewhen we went to watch the antics of the much younger version of the boyfriend, we noticed that 20 minutes or so of the tape had audio, but nothing but a black screen. I feared the tape had deteriorated enough that the footage had been permanently lost. Given that the tape is rapidly approaching 30 years of age (and not to mention I'd gotten a discount, thanks to a Living Social deal), AUA could have brushed it off as being a casualty of deterioration over time, but they readily agreed to run it through their machines again - without an additional charge - to see if the visuals could be improved. Luckily the second time around, they were able to retrieve the video in full, just in time to share for Mother's Day. Thanks, AUA!

The deal explicitly says "For $10, you get up to two hours of VHS to DVD transfer (a $20 value)." I brought in 2 tapes - one is 30 minutes long (a short tape), the other only has a 10 minute clip. Even the fine print is not clear: "Limit 1 voucher per household * Valid for video and audio transfer * Valid for transfer from VHS, VHS-C, Mini DV, up to 120 minutes * Entire value must be used in a single visit * Not valid on holidays" The manager accused me of taking advantage of the deal because it SHOULD have said only one tape. The lady working the front counter accepted my request to do both tapes as the coupon is not clear. The manager continued to argue with me while he was walking away. WARNING: He also said that he would not honor the voucher for others who brought in more than one tape. I will never send any business to that place.

Michael's gorgeous photos captured our day perfectly and we will cherish them forever. Long version: I cannot speak highly enough about Michael Clemens. Michael is an absolutely exceptional photographer, and he treats each wedding as more than a job. The care and effort he put into photographing our wedding was nothing short of amazing. I had known of Michael's work for quite some time, so I knew the quality of the work he produces. In fact, I told my husband a year or so before we even got engaged that he was the only photographer I wanted if/when we got married. To get a little sense of his dedication to his craft -- Michael will not eat during the event he is photographing. I sure hope he at least had something to drink since it was probably 115 degrees during our first look and pre-ceremony photos, but I DO know that he brought his own sweat towel! Michael's eye for what makes for a great photo is beyond anything I've ever seen. I trusted and took his advice without question, in fact, we ended up flipping our ceremony 180 degrees the week before the wedding because he showed us just how much better the photos would turn out. My husband and I are historically pretty terrible at taking photos, and I don't love being the center of attention, but I never felt awkward or uncomfortable doing our portraits. Michael actually listened to what Kyle and I wanted, and stuck to that (which is not always the case with photographers). We were pretty adamant that we didn't want to spend too much time away from our guests for photos, and Michael respected that. I was worried that I cut ourselves short, but when I got our photos, I was SO pleasantly surprised at how many shots, and the variety of those shots, that Michael managed while also giving us the most time possible with our friends and family.

I barely noticed that he was there during the ceremony and the reception, but when we did talk he was such a pleasure to talk to!
