If I could leave zero stars I would. My fiancé called before coming in to get his hair cut. He…read moreexplained to the woman on the phone that he has longer hair and asked whether he needed to book with a barber or a stylist. The woman on the phone told him that Stephanie is a barber and stylist and that she is the best at cutting hair. This led us to book an appointment with Stephanie. My fiancé explained that he wanted mid-length curtain bangs and that she could cut the sides but only wanted a trim on the top of his hair. Half way through his hair cut, she stops and says "I don't know what I am doing". I'm sorry???? You.... the person who went to school for this... don't know what you're doing. As soon as she says that, my fiancé looks at his hair which was cut WAY TOO SHORT. After speaking with the manager... we were told that Stephanie is going through menopause.... why on Earth would that be the managers response. How professional is that??? Then Stephanie proceeded to tell me that this is our fault for booking with her. She said that she is a barber and doesn't know how to cut longer hair. Mind you... THE LADY ON THE PHONE SAID SHE WAS THE BEST PICK FOR US. After showing the manager the photo of what he wanted, she says... "Oh, it will look like that in a month or two". A MONTH OR TWO??? That is not what we came here for. Absolutely unacceptable. Then as we were leaving, we were told we would not be charged for the haircut. Sure enough... on our way home, we get a text message saying that we were charged for the service. This is absolutely ridiculous and not what I expected from a place with such good reviews. DO NOT GET STEPHANIE AS YOUR HAIRDRESSER!!! She will mess up your hair and then blame you for it!

The consultation lasted less than a minute and the guy started in with the trimmer before I could tell him specifics. I have numerous bald spots on the back of my head and the way he shaved it down they stand out like a sore thumb. By the time I realized what he was doing he was already several swipes in and there was no recovering.

I struggled to find a hairstylist that was as good as her. When I returned, I knew I didn't need to find a new barber, as she always took care of me before. She is a master in the art of hair with a side of expertise in humor. A mentor of mine once said that a great barber is like a therapist in their ability to listen to your inner dialog and bring a wave of deep peace to you while also providing you with a stylish haircut. Isabel does that and more. I look forward to my time in her chair. Curls & Crops' new location is super convenient to access, and I loved the newness of the building. Of course, Isabel spruces the space up to be a relaxing and welcoming environment. 10/10 recommend

Something always went wrong and I had to get a corrective cut. I also notice a lot of staff turnover, and it feels understaffed. The new stylists always felt very amature - maybe okay for fades or basic cuts, but folks with longer hair desiring Layered Flow cuts will be dissapointed. As such, I canceled my membership a few months back, switched to a new salon that is delivering consistent results and listening to my needs, and will not be back to Boardroom.
