Locals peddling thier products they have spent hours crafting with love to others in the community. And the city was so supportive of the vendors- the city employees working the event were constantly making rounds insuring everything was going well and the visitors were having a good time. The Mayor even came around and was shaking everyone's hand and taking selfies with the booth vendors. I see you, Mr. Mayor Jim. They had a ton of food and local bands/ performers as well. My favorite was Poly Hwy- go check them out on FB. They were Polynesian and had a very island-y vibe. It was the perfect chill music to have playing while you stroll around. John Tipton was second- dude if you are reading this- that was the best cover of Bad Leroy Brown ever! And all of this was FREE! Silver Dollar Winery was serving up vino- although I wish they would have had the frozen peachy wine slushie- hint hint for next year guys ;). Crazy Cowboy was smoking up a storm and slinging brisket sandwiches and Rahr beer. La Rosita truck was also there in case you had a hankering for a taco. Bedford is a hidden gem guys, real talk. It was a beautiful day and a great spot for all this fun. Bookmark this and meet me there next year!

The music was great and everywhere you looked people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was hot out but no one seemed to let the heat dampen their fun. The non food vendors were probably the most interesting to see. There wasn't exactly a pattern in vendor types. They had everything from people selling spice rubs, scentsy, thrift store type clothing, childrens toys, insurance sales, and face painting. It was entertaining to walk by and glance at everything. Don't think I spent a full hour looking at all the vendors, but I checked out each one and thoroughly enjoyed myself. A few of the vendors I recognized from years gone by. Others were brand new to me. For some reason, the flow of the event seemed better organized from what I remember. Or maybe it was because it was the first day of the event. Who knows? There were definitely less people out wandering around. Just wait until the weekend. Ha ha! Having formerly worked in downtown on Main Street, I swung by where the old shop was formerly located. After a few minutes of reminiscing, I continued on my way. In the end, the wares offered are a want and not a need, and certainly way out of my meager budget. I still enjoy looking at everything. There were also two bands performing, but I didn't feel like sticking around. May come back before the festival ends on Sunday.

The first time, our GPS said we were 1.4 miles from the entrance... that's how FAR back the line stretched not counting the winding roads after the entrance gate. Traffic management is nonexistent past the gate: no cones, no staff, just cars blocking intersections and nearly colliding in the dark. By the time you finally make it inside, you're shoulder-to-shoulder in a packed crowd, too stressed to enjoy the lights. Save your money and sanity. Go to a haunted house instead. At least the fear and stress there is intentional and a shorter wait time. I won't make the mistake of coming back ever in the future.

Any festival with Porter, Borgore, Flux, 3LAU, etc in my backyard needs to be attended. The ticket price was extremely affordable for a two day festival ($115). I loved this festival! There was so much room to dance and I never felt claustrophobic like at Life in Color or some other festivals I've been to. The production was incredible. They don't just have LED screens or big LED screens, they arrange them in such a way for each stage that you could have the same artist playing at the two larger stages and get a completely different experience. The LED screens piece together to project different parts of one visual. It's pretty damn awesome. Sound quality was amazing. Large variety of food. Beer was quite pricey for an EDM festival (that being said while I expected pricey beer). Parking is $20 and the lot was extremely easy to get in and out of. There is a massive Buc-ee's across the street from the speedway so it was the perfect spot for post hangover food. There was a surprisingly large amount of out of staters here and it was nice meeting people from all over the states at this festival. It is growing larger every year and it's inspiring to see the rapid growth of EDM in Texas. I hope they one day put this inside the Speedway and we get a three day Texas EDC :) One can dream! As an aspiring DJ who started learning a few months ago, I can certainly say I would love to play this festival next year if I got good enough!

The only set back for me is that they have no changing rooms the portable potty is dirty and they have to put up the toilet paper so it won't be stolen. Since this is a nonprofit rental place the have no changing rooms. My advice is if you get there before they open and you need to use rest room. Make sure you have personal hand sanitizer and toilet paper. The price for an hour outing was $60.00. Ms. Theresa was truly awesome and very welcoming. Thank you Ms. Theresa, you made it fun.

This was our last stop for our 2022 Challenge! We went out for a Christmas Day hike after all the festivities and decided to explore the Benbrook Lake Horse and Nature Trails near Whiskey Flats. We saw the remnants of several old stone buildings, including a huge double chimney. Bald Eagles are known to nest in this area, but we didn't spot any this time.. We will definitely go back and explore more of that area.

After some research I found that the Fort Worth club is similar to the Dallas Fly Fishers, in that they bring in the same great speakers / instructors one day apart. The speakers that I have heard ay the Dallas location have all been top notch! Back to the review as a result from the full day fly fishing workshop this last weekend! The morning class was held indoors at Backwoods in Fort Worth. The class was a small thirteen students of us, just the right size held upstairs next to the fly fishing department area. George Daniel led this workshop, he is a world known top notch fly fisherman with several books out covering nymphing and using streamers. George was brought in from the east coast for this great workshop. The second part of the class was out on the water, and in between the indoor class and the second part out on the water class was the Fort Worth Cowtown Marathon. The marathon held us up try to get over to the water. This gentleman from the group made sure we all made it out there to the water ok. I know it sounds silly, and I have the deepest respect for those police officer out protecting the runners, I used to run those full marathons, but we did make it. What I noticed was the gentleman who ran this gathering treated George and all of us students so kindly. During the sign in process, he even had brought breakfast bites that his wife had made for us all. One of the big pluses that I keep running into here in Texas, is folks with kind hearts, simply thinking and caring of others. Through out the day, our Fort Worth Fly Fisher organizer treated everyone in the workshop so kindly, that my friends speaks volumes to me. Grandmother told us that, "birds of feather, flock together." Meaning, hang around the folks that you want to become like, if it's kindness, then hang around those folks. Bottom line: I like this group, from seeing just one of there folks of how he treated the instructor, the students and the fly fishing manager from Backwoods! I would recommend joining this group! That's why I love the sport! Definitely the best rural course besides Lester lorch. Super nice for those wanting to do some nice hiking.
