The Book Annex is a great place to get books of great value on sale for a cheap price! I especially enjoy coming here to get work done, to discover a new book/author, and see what the latest buzz is all about. Book worms unite!

The kids books are typically between about $2-$4 and they have a lot of good options!!

Located near the famous Mookies in the Greenfield and 10 and a half strip mall…read more Inside is a crowded and frankly wrecked-looking bookstore. Rather than a good filing system, books are more or less grouped. Prices are much too high, both for new and for older used books. The selection also tends far left and revolutionary, which fits as they were playing some loud zephyr music for my visit. The staff was also unfriendly, more interested in their conversation than customers. I strongly advise going to either King Books Detroit, or King North, instead. Unless you have a taste for far left books and spending a long time hunting for books than interest you.

I came here the other day specifically for Pete Souza's new book, which is hysterical and amusing after only three pages. I would've saved around 10 bucks had I ordered online, but I couldn't wait 3-5 days. The employees don't seem too high strung, and seem very eager to help you out, which is great because it can be annoying when it's obviously that you need help, yet staff just walks by you. I love to purchase the shelves and find something new, although I found the layout slightly confusing, and I found various books and multiple locations. The little tags that talk about unique aspects of the book are a really nice touch. I did find it to be slightly biased politically, but I'm not sure what you can expect in downtown Ann Arbor. They did have a beautiful special version of a book that my best friend from Australia loves, so I was able to pick up that copy. I can't wait to send it to her. When I told her about it, she cried. The book is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much Literati for stocking such lovely products! Every time I've needed help, someone was genuinely friendly and actually knowledgeable (not just pointing vaguely in the direction of a shelf). Whether you're looking for a specific title or just browsing for something new, they're happy to help without hovering. The selection is excellent--books, journals, gifts, and that dangerous section where you go in for one thing and leave with five. It's also a great place to just exist for a while: grab a coffee, flip through a book, and unplug from the world. In a time when so many bookstores are disappearing, this Barnes & Noble feels like a reminder of why they matter. Reliable, welcoming, and always worth the visit. Barnes & Noble offers great value, especially for the quality and variety you get. Whether you're buying books, magazines, journals, or gifts, it always feels like your money is well spent.
