I am so glad that our family went with Home with Dignity. They were amazing to work with from start to finish. Dr. Shrauner came to our home to help with our favorite old man, Boss. Boss was the light of my world for being a 145 pound Great Dane. I brought him home 6 years ago from a bad situation. I wanted to make sure he got the ultimate last rights and stayed home. Dr. Shrauner was kind and walked us through the process while Boss warmed up to him along with our nosey cat Phil. They enjoyed pets and treats before getting him situated on his favorite bed. Dr. Shrauner let us have time with our bestest boy during the whole process. He made sure Boss was comfortable. When we were ready for that hard part, Boss was already in dream land. I will say after having multiple four legged friends that we've had to help move on, this by far was the most peaceful passing I've delt with. Although my big handsome boy left a hole in my heart, I know he is pain free and running wild. Thank you to the team at Home with Dignity. I will be forever grateful in the line of work that you do and knowing my bestest boy was at ease made the decision easier. I thank you.

We are very proud that many of our areas top veterinary hospitals refer their treasured clients to this practice for this very special service.

The trailer was spacious & clean with all necessary equipment. My dog has had surgery 3 times and this was the easiest. The incision is small and looks fine. Our pup would get very anxious around other dogs, and we liked the idea of her being the only dog "in the office", and had heard good things about Dr. Kovac. His ability to calm and gain trust with animals before and while "doing his work" sets him apart from other vets, and is his absolute priority. Witnessing his approach upon our first visit with him, made me regret not finding him sooner. He cares deeply about the health and comfort of his patients and their humans. After a short battle with bone cancer, we recently realized it was time to let our dog go. I had been staying in touch with Dr Kovac since her initial diagnosis for guidance and reassurance, and made the call for the final appointment. He gave me the information I needed to be certain that I was making the right decision and graciously took the time to make a plan to help my daughter (who has some disabilities, and was best friends with our pup) understand, accept, and actively participate in the decision with the family. Our dog passed peacefully and with dignity in her favorite spot, in the sunshine, with her people close. It is difficult to articulate our gratitude for Dr. Kovac after this experience. But I can say that that I have never met a more gracious, kind, skilled, experienced, and compassionate vet. When we're ready to bring a new dog into our family, we know who our vet will be. Thank you, Dr. Kovac.

I wouldn't go anywhere else! Dr. H and his staff dote over my babies every time we go!…read more More importantly, every time I call, they go beyond to make sure to have an appointment time for us! We live 1 hour away. We built a house east of Blue Springs, but I continue to make that drive to be with a team that cares! Pricing is right in line with animal science and you can always choose what you approve. We boarded our kitties there while out of town for a major trip, the outgoing cat was able to go "work" in the back room and he loved it. The skittish cat had no signs of being upset for being left a week. That says a lot in my eyes. One particular aspect of this office... they will not immediately steer you to expensive diagnostics. If your baby might have an inflamed intestinal condition, they will just help correct the diet and treat the symptoms as needed. Other businesses are quick to do intestinal biopsy and ultrasounds. Sure that might be your choice to do, but I like how practical the team is. My kitty with the intestinal issue lived to be 20 years old, and he was supported through old age with fluids, and b-12 shots as needed. Those last years could have cost me thousands of dollars, but we got the standard of care that he would receive anyway. Our rescue skittish kitty had stomatitis 4 years ago. The remedy is removal of the molars. The staff quoted us $1200 as standard estimate. We paid it and came to pick her up the next day. The staff corrected our bill and refunded us $400 because the surgery did not take as long as expected and since she was young, the removal was not complicated. They saved her life! Not only by knowing how to treat her, but they offered an option to euthanasia. Kitty is still sassy and happy today. When we got our new puppy, Dr. H was my first stop on the way home! The cuddles and loves for new babies are so genuine! Dr.H took the time to educate me, the cat mom, on how to raise my puppy. I'm so grateful!

It was short tho & Kinley came to take us to the room which was large, clean & well equipped. We began discussing Gracie's arthritis & I looked over to see the vet on the floor engaging with my dog! Dr. Holstrom was so kind & extremely thorough with Gracie's exam. I had questions about some lumps & how to treat them. She gave me several options & explained them thoroughly. We reviewed all of Gracie's health matters. Head to toe. The Dr. & Kinley really made me feel like they cared about Gracie & her well being. They were so great with my dog, but also fantastic with me, too. It was so nice to talk with them. This was my first visit to Pleasant Valley & they've got it ALL right. Lovely, clean, well maintained building & exam rooms; warm, friendly receptionists; short wait times; knowledgeable Dr. who is as good with people as she is with animals; technology (a very useful & easy to use app); & all these people are loving on my dog every step of the way. We brought these two dogs to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and we were so extremely impressed and wonderfully treated. Regrettably, one of our dogs is in fairly serious condition and the vet there recommended that we take him to a specialty veterinarian clinic that has an internist type physician for dogs to address his significant problems. What impressed my wife and me most was the fact that this particular veterinarian was MUCH more concerned about the well-being of our dog, rather than making money for herself, which we would have gladly paid her for many repeated visits for her to identify and treat our dog's significant health issues. But instead of making money, she was MUCH more concerned about the health of our dog, and she referred us to two viable animal clinics that have the type of internist that can properly address our dog's needs. So, the bottom line here is, if you want a veterinarian that is more concerned about the health and well being of your animal, rather thanher profit margins, I recommend that you take your animals to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and have a Veterinarian with incredible knowledge and integrity there take care of your pets. Truly impressive, truly inspiring, we couldn't be more grateful.

Every time we would take an animal in for various reasons, we would be presented with an estimate invoice for $500 to $1,000. We would have to argue with them about only doing what is truly necessary and felt they wanted to shame us into doing more tests. We took our 16 year old dog in last November for a UTI. They suggested an ultrasound, an x-ray, and blood work. That was a $900 invoice. We asked if we could just start with the $35 antibiotic, and after much arguing, they said they at least had to do an ultrasound. $650. 40 days later her UTI returned, of course, on a Sunday. I called and asked if I could get a new antibiotic. The woman on the phone said they required an exam if over 30 days, exam on Sunday $171. She stated there was absolutely no way around this. So, we take our dog back in and again they wanted to run blood work and x-rays. UGH. Just give me a new antibiotic. Nope, needed to run bloodwork for $230. Total invoice the week of Christmas, $530. They called four days later and said the bloodwork was fine. Guess what, the new $35 antibiotic took care of it. This was not the only time we felt the focus was not on care, but how much can we bill. We now go to Meadowbrook Animal Hospital and give them 5 stars!!! Our first visit was to get an allergy shot for one of our dogs. Total cost $150. Very reasonable, and the care was fantastic!
