I was used to waiting minimum 2 hours to get my taxes done. Not here! I was greeted by friendly people and was sitting down with Manny in about 5 minutes. My whole visit took I believe less than an hour. Not only did Manny "do my taxes" he gave me information and advice for the future which will be so helpful. I did not feel rushed and when I walked out I knew I had found the perfect "tax guy" - CPA! He even encouraged me to call during the year if I had questions. I cannot change the city Yelp has me living in but I live in Raynham, Ma so Taunton was a quick trip. Although irrelevant the office is lovely. HORRIBLE & UNPROFESSIONAL…read more I went to A.M Gallagher Tax on the 3rd week of March 2017. Had All paperwork to her by the end of the 4th week, March 24 2017. She said it would be 2-3 weeks. About a month later on April 18 2017 I sent a friendly e-mail to ask how we were doing, her response below: AMGTAX amgtaxlady@comcast.net Apr 18: to me : "The deadline is actually today 18th I am working on them but I will file extensions today because I maybe cutting it close on time - I should have them pretty much finished in a day or two". Sounded good, so I checked in 2 & 3 WEEKS later, May 01 & 08 with an email, no response. 7 WEEKS GO BY, I send an email inquiry on June 29th , no response at all. I check in via e-mail after the July 4th holiday, and still, no response of any kind. I went to her place of business and caught up with her in person there. We had a friendly conversation as I asked what was going on? I jokingly said I just wanted to be sure she didn't run off to Mexico with my taxes. She told me she was sick last week and that she was behind, she then said she was busy trying to get her boat in the water & had other clients who she was behind on. That was more info than I needed since we were already MONTHS late from the original date promised. Excuses don't interest me, all I was looking for was a definitive timeline for completion and simple RESPONSES to my e-mails, of which I sent very few. She said this week they would be done. Not surprisingly a week later they were not, and again my e-mail on the 13th of July went unanswered. A semi-urgent phone message was left on her phone along with a note on her door requesting she contact me asap as I was looking to get my paperwork back to go elsewhere if she had not finished the taxes, or could not complete the taxes. She did not respond in any manner over the next 14 days. Finally I had enough and TWO WEEKS LATER on the 27th of July I threatened legal action if she did not respond and return my paperwork. That got her attention and suddenly she sent a response within 6 hours. The next day I picked up my tax paperwork in a plastic bag on her front porch and went to another accountant. This was BY FAR, the most unprofessional, disrespectful and just plain discourteous individual I have ever attempted to do business with. There is no excuse, response or rebuttal that can justify the lack of professionalism displayed by A.M Gallagher Tax Consultant. Avoid at all costs. Additionally I saved all of the proof to back this review up.

It took them more then five months to complete a…read morebasic non-business personal related tax request, initial inquiry in May and being completed in October- I had to give the same information over and over to different people and would have to follow up multiple times while they left me in the dark for weeks multiple times. I was rushed into signing the approval documentation without even being told the amount I would be paying to the IRS or their business and was left taking a hit of 6k unexpectedly less then 24 hours later without any option for a payment plan, disclosure on the amount etc- they told me there was nothing they could do to stop the charge and apologized profusely. They accepted blame for the situation and admitted that the service I got was unacceptable and when I asked for my money back- as ANYONE WOULD when being given awful service, I was ghosted for two weeks before being told "I got the service I paid for" which was no communication, poor management, them admitting wrong in the situation and stress. I felt like I had to follow up with them to do their job and I paid them $300 to just be put in a stressful situation. Absolutely do not recommend, super poor management and awful taste left from the experience. Cannot warn anyone enough how AWFUL Rick and his employees were with handling the whole experience. I was even told they would "rectify it however they could" but when I said the proper solution would to be to refund me for the amount of time and stress their business caused I was then responded with "you got your service no matter how bad it was, I wont go back and forth on that..." so how were they going to rectify it then? A flower basket? Literally lost my entire savings in one day because of them. Rick said in emails he wanted to better work on the business and cared about client satisfaction, but has left me in such a financial hardship and depression with no way to solve the problem they caused. During this entire process I NEVER received a phone call except the last day to make sure they got paid. Literally go use turbotax.
