Every transaction takes 2-3x as long because the computer systems aren't fully integrated. Whether you are making a deposit or a withdrawal, you need to sign a receipt. Even the ATM software outside is slower... it offers you more options which take longer to navigate through, and it also pauses longer between screens. I hope it gets better, because right now it is just a time waster. (The staff, which are the same as from when it was SEFCU, are still nice though!)

They gave me a shot…read moreat financing my cars, when my score was on the low side . . but I was able to talk to them and show them my progress and explain my old debts. That, was 20 years ago. Much has changed, over the years . . as SEFCU Got Bigger, and the consumer became much smaller, to them. We hold no value anymore. Just a credit score. Now, they have merged with CapCom and become rebranded as BroadView. So now they are even BIGGER and we, the consumer are even smaller. I get that my credit score has seen its ups and downs over the 35 years I have been with SEFCU/Broadview. I get that, after review of my credit profile, they had to cancel a credit card I had with them, even though I had been making payments all along. I get that part. But, when you canceled my card - your system will no longer allow me to make a payment to the card on my own. Instead, I have to call each time and request to GIVE YOU MONEY. How absurd (and out of touch) is that? Okay, so I make the call and request that you take $210 payment towards the closed card. Staff makes the payment to a different card on an account that is still active, and I could have made myself. Why would I need them to make a payment on an account I have access to'? Then, when I told them about the mistake they made, they informed the that they could reverse the payment - but it would take two days and I Can make another $210 to the closed card today. WAIT. WHAT? So, you are perfectly OKAY tying up my $420 for a few days while you sort out the mistake you made? A mistake, by the way, I would not have made if I was able to make the payment myself. My Dad has a Credit Score of 840. You fall all over him, when he comes in and call him if he gets a car loan from another bank. Yet, his interest rate is so good that you barely make any money from him. My interest rate is much higher. And you treat me like the red headed step child. Yet, I have never fully missed a payment with SEFCU in over 30 years. You make a ton of money from people like me. A TON. You make pennies form my Dad. Let that sink in.

Broadview/SEFCU - "we don't know why it is declined, plenty of credit, account fully paid.... but the person who can override the decline goes home at 5 pm... call us tomorrow?" Or imagine sitting in a bank branch across the desk from a bank employee who cannot call a business banker within their own bank. They are required to send an email and wait. There was a time, many years ago, that I would not shut up about how GREAT SEFCU was. Anyone who was looking for a bank or loan, I would speak up and recommend SEFCU. Why? Because they worked with you. Treat you like a person, not a SCORE. Look at ALL the information and not just a score. Sometimes, people have lower scores for unconventional reasons. I always used to enjoy being treated like a person whom SEFCU wanted to do business with, rather than a beggar. Those days have gone. I am now treated like a beggar, because my score is not as high as some others. When your score drops below 'Fair', SEFCU staff start treating you like you are not worthy of them. As if they are only for the elite. My, how things have changed. SUNMARK and First New York FCU are the last of the 'Old School' credit unions. By old school, I mean . .they care. They want to HELP YOU. Not just approve or decline a loan. I just got off the phone with New York FCU. They came up with a whole plan for me. To refinance my car, and consolidate all of my debt. Decreasing my monthly bills, while putting me on a path to increase my credit score. I am not just a pass/fail to NYFCU. They gave me a lot of respect, help and wanted to make my life better. Help me to increase my score and then even refinance again - in 6 months with an even better rate (They will refinance their own loans at NYFCU). THIS . . is what SEFCU used to be. Now, you only matter to SEFCU if you have a stellar credit score. Not to SEFCU: The lower credit scores and higher interest rates make you a LOT OF MONEY. My dad, with excellent. credit, pays 2% for his car. You don't make crap off of him. I had a 10% $50k car loan. You make $16k off of me. And yet - you. treat me like the plague and my dad like a hero. MATH MATH MATH.

The teller I saw today, Drishawn, was one of the rudest teller's I've ever encountered. I asked for a withdrawal, and the entire time he is sighing and rolling his eyes at me. I asked him to repeat a question as I didn't hear him, and he shakes his head and rolls his eyes at me again. Then he tells me my math is wrong, and when I explained to him why it was correct, he huffs and tosses my cash through the glass. No goodbye, no eye contact. If you are hard of hearing and Drishawn is working, you'll have better service at the ATM. I hope my usual teller is there next time. Ill have to leave her a shout-out here next time I see her.

I was needing $50 so I thought I couldn't use the ATMs - as most just have $20s in them. However, as the teller processed the transaction, she gently made me aware that the ATMs at this small mall-branch actually have $10s as well in them. When I got there, there weren't too many people standing in line waiting (I was the only one waiting for a teller when everyone else was at the tellers themselves). I ended up waiting there for less than 5 minutes. I don't know too much how many times they have lines (like Steve mentioned in 2015), but it sure seemed that it wasn't that way in my transaction yesterday). The transaction was rather easy, and what made it simpler and less stressful on inputting of my car details, was that these card machines (Bank of America uses their debit cards to pull up your account) accepted contactless forms such as Apple Pay (something I enjoy using and have been since my card isn't working as well these days (just waiting for the card's expiration and for the bank to send me a new one under their decision)) and Samsung/Android Pay.) I wasn't thrilled that there's only two tellers here, however - nor that the start of the line terminates at another teller window which only works the business end of processing. Perhaps simplifying the line here might work now and face it closer to the two tellers themselves. This isn't in the best location, but there is enough signage from the road mentioning there's one here, I knew it from passing it on the highway from my trips down this main-access road (Central Ave (because there are many in Albany)). But you did make some great informative moves to let me know and I love the communication of this information. Was debating whether this next information should be a Yelp tip or not: There's actually a door that leads right into Hannaford just as you enter/leave the inside of this location - something I don't generally find in many Bank of America locations. That's a definite plus in my book (never shopped this Hannaford, but I do know about it - sort-of).
