Place was dark, seemed dirty. Over priced and old merchandise. Displays were not inviting.

The food vendors here offer some amazing good. Here you will find some of the best representations of Latin food. Whether it be tacos, pupusas or so many other types of food, it is not only represented here, but that representation is stellar. I would definitely recommend a visit here to try some of this stellar food.

While you are at it, there is tons of authentic Mexican delicacies such as aguas frescas, mangonadas, pupusas, tacos de birria, shops, jewelry, plant shops and more. I have tried several food spots in here but I have to say my new favorite is going to be Pollos Asados al Carbon. To start off, the owner treats you like family, jokes around with you, the music choice is mainly ranchera music, which makes me feel like I am back home in my hometown of Monterrey Mexico. The chicken is well cooked on the grill right in front of you. I swear I thought I was with my friends having a cook out with everyone just having a good time. They bring it to your table, the 1/2 chicken comes with rice and beans for 2 and salad, cebollita, chile asado, and they supply a homemade salsa that tastes so incredibly authentic. I am serious I was impressed about how good the food was. You will not regret this spot, it checked all my boxes.

Management has taken away your choice of freedom to choose what you want and who you want to spend your money with! If i am thirsty, i want to buy from whomever i choose to spend my money with or the closest source to satisfy my thirst! The management should not control the patrons by forcing them to buy from them exclusively! A dollar per soda is impacting managements bottom line? And only them while your at a open flea market buy eliminating the convenience of having several sources available. i thought this was America, are you kidding me? Your reasoning for this is my selling soda and or water for the those who are thirsty is my selling soda is impacting your bottom line? Management buys the cheapest water they can find for 5 cents a bottle and sells it to you for a dollar or 2 dollars? who's fooling the people? Does the attending public know and agree with this tactic, having their freedom of choice, of where to get a drink has been stripped away by the management. You no longer have freedom of choice! Management controls you, you have no choice. The general public has made the choice of coming to this market and management demands that you can only buy water and soda from them, no one else, WTF !! Who are you kidding? They illegally collected taxes from all the vendors for years now all of a sudden you have tax problems but my selling a soda and making peanuts from the sale of a soda is impacting your bottom line ? There is something very very wrong here. I pay rent to be here to sell what i can to survive! I sell nothing illegal yet its illegal for me to sell soda to a thirsty patron, they have to walk over to the office 3 minutes away to get something to drink? Why?

I would give Oak Hill Flea Market three stars. Its a relatively small market comprised of an indoor…read moreand outdoor row. I'm not really a fan of flea markets, but my family enjoys them very much for all the great deals. They had more here during our recent visit than last time. They have raffle drawings, fresh vegetables, a restaurant, a food stand selling popcorn and carnival food (deep fried Twinkies, Oreos, hot dogs, etc) and a row dedicated to antiques. I didn't really see many great items, and my family member and I walked through pretty quickly. I bought one item (a book about history for a dollar), but my family bought a few additional items. If you need to use the restroom, I would recommend stopping at a rest stop before waiting until you get to the market. There was only one male and one female bathroom, and the female restroom was disgusting and unsanitary. Also the sink runs continuously so it just wastes water, and there were no paper towels to dry your hands (only an air hand dryer). It was nice to explore, but its not a place I would come to again and again!

Due to the timing, not all the booth spaces were occupied. We spent about a half hour walking around checking out the folks that were there. There weren't many folks shopping. The vendors are on grass and dirt. You have to be a bit careful walking around as there are many dips and holes in the ground. There was one produce vendor. We got some lovely huge radishes from them for only $1. Most of the other vendors were clothing, tools and accessories, jewelry and a couple household items. One vendor had a mix of antiques, junk, and collectibles. I did find a gal selling some miscellaneous items on a side table -- just to get rid of them at 50 cents apiece. From her, I bought a lovely sheesham wood box that had been spray painted silver. I'll use this for an art project. I also got a pretty silver and black bracelet. So, two bargains for just a $1. They're only open certain days. So double check before you make the trip. I imagine in season -- and not after a holiday -- that there are more vendors, and it would be more worthwhile. I'm still glad we got to go. Always like checking out the different markets and thrifts.

I have been twice now because a local ceramics artist from Jacksonville Pottery Studio (right down the road from this market) sells her pottery there and she specializes in Hobbit Door inspired arts. I now have a door mug (yellow to match my front door) and a door planter I picked up yesterday as well as a little corked bottle! Jess from @insearchof.ceramics is my inspiration to attend, even with thunderstorms threatening! Besides several local pottery tables, there are clothing booths, jewelry, soaps, candles, food trucks, CBD and more! It usually takes place on Sundays from 4--8pm. They've gone through many changes since its inception and now it runs like a well oiled machine. Vendors galore. More-so, unique vendors! Jewelry, small batch honey, post cards, t-shirts, balloon installations, massages, leather hand bags, etc. There's always something new and shiny that catches the eye. Some vendors are repeats, but you can usually expect a few you've never come across before. I love that Vagabond stays open throughout the event. Nothing better than strolling while sipping delicious coffee. I think one should have the mindset that it is a small market, so if you're not serious about buying anything you'll probably run through it rather quickly. Give or take 25 vendors if I had to guess. Vagabond Flea is the epitome of supporting local. Check out the talented makers who don't have their own storefronts. This is their chance to interact with the community and make some money!
