This particular one is located in the small town of Chesnee, S.C. The total population of this city is 882 people. There are a total of four banks located within it's city limits. That's a lot of banks for a place of this size! I'm going to believe that the reason I've only seen one customer here is because of that reason. My research reveals to me that Arthur State Bank is a very well respected one and is on solid financial ground! My conclusion to the obvious lack of customers is simply its location! Would I feel comfortable using the services of this bank? Absolutely I would!

Where do I begin? Let's see…read more.. Customer service. They are sooo willing to serve their membership in a kind, responsive way. I've never had a bad experience with them. Isaaileen cares so much (tell her Ryan and Marty sent you), and she'll probably give you a good smile. I've had so many pleasant experiences with the staff (experiences that might not be pleasant with other financial institutions). (Also, say hey to Philip for us too... We don't get anything out of it other than a good laugh with these friendly people.) Fees. I should say lack thereof. Some major banks charge monthly service fees. Spartan Federal charges you nothing. Notta. I mean, if you overdraw, then they charge you a fee (but that's totally expected). I can't recall any hidden fees for my accounts there. International Exchange Rates. Really? This small SC credit union has better international transaction rates than Bank of America, a bank large enough to throw its weight behind such an issue? It's totally true. This is why I signed up with SFCU. They helped me squeeze every little bit of my money while I was in England! NCUA. It's the FDIC for credit unions. Yeah. Accounts in this credit union are insured too, strange right? Wrong. You'd be surprised as to how awesome credit unions can be. But what about that ever convenient ATM network that the banks have, I can't give that up, can I? Well, think about it this way. Most major banks have network ATMs anyway, and if you use an ATM off network, you're charged a fee. The same thing works with credit unions. Some credit unions have ATM alliances (get out your smart phone, look at the SFCU website's ATM network page, and find the closest networked ATM or call SFCU during business hours), meaning no ATM fees at select ATMs. Just do the research and see. They do so much more. Loans. State-of-the-art online banking. Birthday cards with awesome coupons!!! They're so congenial. They are the exact opposite of greasy bankers out to make a buck, seriously. Look at their website. If you meet their membership requirements, feel free to talk with them. If you're unsure, they'll help you figure out if they're the right fit for you (in an honest and candid way).

I've been banking here for quite a few years now, and every employee makes it their mission to remember you on your second visit. Karen, the bank manager, will bend over backwards to help in any situation. She was friends with my Mom and takes the time to talk no matter how much her phone rings. Met a young lady who came out from behind the counter who asked what the problem was and was very sweet & understanding ,said for me to watch my acct for the refund and if any problems to call her and she would take care of it. This was the 2nd time we ever had a problem and they were very good to say they would help out. Been a customer for many years before moving here so I like that they treat you great when your new coming in. Over all it worked out fine, I did call the bank to talk to her and ended up talking to someone else who was very nice. I like wells Fargo over other banks I've tried in the past.

I stopped by here to close out a small checking account. The lady who closed out my account was…read morevery nice and helpful. Unfortunately it went downhill during this transaction. I took a picture of their TV and the lady who was working the drive thru window turned around and with a loud voice said you can't take pictures in here. So I asked her nicely where the sign saying I can't take a picture was located. She got really loud at my question and said: I said you can't take pictures in here. She was so vocal that the other customers in line were shocked and one guy asked her also where the no pictures inside sign was located. She rudely turned her back on us and ignored any further questions from the other customers. These people were 5 star all day long when I opened up an account. Sadly it was a rude and resentful experience when closing out my small account. I absolutely don't recommend doing any banking at this joint! There are plenty of friendly and courteous banks in my hometown. It's never acceptable to be rude and loud with a customer. I publicly apologize at this time for taking this encounter personally.
