Perhaps this is the reason that they are the premier banking institution in our small town. In the fifty some odd years that I've been a customer I've seen more than several banks fold up and leave town! This has not only remained the by far largest bank in GaffneyS.C. but has actually grown with two other locations inside our city limits. There are two branches in Spartanburg S.C. and one in Boiling Springs,S.C. also. I am convinced that free checking is the main reason for their success! I have been the beneficiary of that policy for many years now. It's just a mystery to me where the money from all of those savings went to! LOL! I do of course recommend this bank!

Every time I visit, I'm impressed by how welcoming, active, and genuinely connected everyone is. There is always something going on, and it's obvious that the staff puts a tremendous amount of thought and heart into creating programs that keep seniors engaged, social, informed, and involved. The Tuesday morning music jamboree is especially fun--you can immediately see how much people enjoy being there! What stands out most to me is the sense of community. This isn't simply a place that offers senior programs; it feels like a place where people belong. Katherine Saine and the team have been incredibly kind and welcoming, and their commitment to the seniors they serve really shows. Lincoln County is fortunate to have such a vibrant and caring resource for its older adults. I highly recommend stopping by and seeing everything they have to offer!

Tax time again. We…read morelive in a 55 and older Gated Community in Denver NC called Trilogy. My wife is in several clubs and several individuals mentioned that they had tried an AARP tax preparation service and the LIncoln County Senior Services Center in Lincolnton. It's a free service offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at no cost. Big difference from the Tax Services we have used in the past but then as we age, our tax forms get simpler and simpler. Last year's filing an the before were straight deductions as opposed to itemization. (funny because autocorrect just changed filing to fileting) Sums up how I have felt in years past) Last week we went by an picked up a form which listed all that we would need. Spent the last week assembling everything and went over yesterday. We had already set up an appointment. Walked in and checked in and took a seat. A few minutes later a tax preparations profession came out and took us back and we reviewed all of our supporting documentation. She came back and got a blank check from us to set up the direct deposit for out return. Awhile later a gentleman came out who had validated our filing, and we signed the form for them to file electronically. Total time from arrival to the time we walked back out the door was two hours. Very professional and it's a great benefit to our AARP membership. There are other services the Senior Centers offers that will probably take advantage of although Trilogy offers a number as well.

I've also wondered why Truist Bank seems to have a majority of customers verses the other three banks. I discovered that this banking institution is the product of a merger between Sun Trust Bank and BB&T. And that's major! That merger makes Truist Bank the sixth largest one in the United States asset wise! They have a total 2781 branches in 15 states! That's big! In addition to the sheer size of this group, one must conclude that they are doing a lot of things right! It looks like I'm late getting on the bus in gaining knowledge about this gigantic banking group! I believe that my curiosity about why Truist Bank has the busines of the majority of local citizens has been resolved!
