Writing this after speaking with EVAN - a local Springfield supervisor. I know it takes about a year for the weed and feed service to have a nice effect on the lawn. After more than a year of applications by TruGreen our lawn was absolutely fried. Fried. Our neighbor utilized a different service and although she never waters her lawn it was green and looked nice. Ours? Fried. Brown patches, a variety of weeds, crab crass, and did I say fried? I called Evan, a local supervisor, after sending him some pics. We chatted a few hours later and the bottom line is he said it just looked like it needed water. Wrong. Not being watered enough can cause browning, sure, dry grass, sure, but ours was FRIED and had the weeds and crab grass etc. I told him that. And told him our neighbor didn't water anything and hers looked good. Without offering to come look at it to see what I meant he just stuck to his guns that it probably just needed water. Lazy. Worse than ineffective, harmful to the lawn - TruGreen. Told him to cancel the account. I have no doubt our lawn would have looked better had they never touched it. Moving on. read more

My husband hired Trugreen and it's been nothing but issues. They either don't spray the yard, sit out front for a few minutes and then drive away without treating thinking no one is home but I sit in the window of my house and watch them do this, or come back and spray when it's raining. They told me I would have to call in two weeks as it won't take from the rain and they will come back out. I'm just at a disbelief in this whole matter and how this company is ran. read more

DONT DO IT DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY I like many other have been I see on here was majorly disappointed in TruGreen not only did they not treat my yard after calling and having them do a Reservice my yard only got worse the only thing the did manage to kill was my garden I have raised grow beds they decided to spray them and kill all my wife's herbs she was growing I prepaid my service right around $600 spoke to several customer care people supervisors managers was reassured that all my problems would be taken care of but not even close I was able to get my money back for the services that hadn't been done yet but they told me I was out of luck on the other money because they don't do refunds for services that had been completed even if they didn't do it properly if I can give ADVISE to one's reading this go with another company I did after this and they performed amazingly with in 1 visits from weedman out of Springfield Iv seen a major decline in the weeds that TruGreen couldn't handle I'm not telling you to go with weedman just not true green save you're time money and sanity read more

I am very disappointed with there service this year. I have called numerous times and they have promised to come and treat my lawn and two weeks later they show up with a spray jug walked around my yard for 2 min and left. I was charged for a full service. I have been with the company for almost 10 years and I will not be using them next year. read more

I've been a TruGreen customer for nearly 20 years. No complaints till the past couple years when my lawn began to die in several areas. Last fall they called me to sell me a service to kill bugs on my trees and shrubs. While on that call I complained about the dead spots on my lawn. They offered to seed the bare spots if I bought the insect service. I did and a few weeks later they came out and scattered some seed on the dirt. After regular watering, no grass. A few weeks back I began calling and emailing to see if someone would come and analyze my soil. My emails resulted in more discount offers to buy additional service. My calls went to a call center. There seems to be no local number that gets answered. My first call to the call center was just a request to have someone in my area give me a call back. Never happened. A week later I call again and explained what I'd been dealing with and advised the lady I wanted to cancel my service. She was very understanding and asked for another chance to keep my business. I advised her if I got a call within 24 hours I'd reconsider. I did get the call the next day from a manager. He expressed concern about losing my business, tried to blame everything on the call center folks. He offered to come out and analyze my problems and make it right. I said ok, but don't do anything with my lawn until he got back with me. Yesterday a TruGreen guy knocked on my door and asked if I was having any concerns with my lawn. I said just the bare spots we'd discussed last week. He informed me that he had not spoken to me and was only there to perform the regular service. I explained what had been going on and told him to leave and not touch lawn. I asked him to have his manager give me a call. Obviously, nobody had told him about any problems. No call from the "manager" yet. If I hadn't been home, he would have "treated " my lawn and left me a bill. They pester you every year to pay in advance, but I never do for this very reason. First time using a lawn care service. Started out as a good experience but went downhill quickly. After 4 visits no longer received a call indicating upcoming visit. After failing to show up for two visits was told they serviced wrong yard. Contracted for aeration and over seed. Showed up again with no prior notice so irrigation heads not marked so they left. When the tech called because we weren't there I asked if they could come back later in the day, was told NO. When I called to reschedule and asked for a date 2 weeks later was told NO, and I would be called 3 days before this service, that was 9/8/17, still have not been called. I aerated and over seeded my lawn my self an guess what? They showed up the next day AGAIN WITHOUT notice and sprayed my lawn with broadleaf herbicide. What do you think? Will my $200.00 dollars worth of grass seed grow? Finally I contacted the national customer support to voice my concerns on 9/23/17. I am so frustrated with TruGreen. First it is so rare that you actually get to talk to the local office. It always seems to go to the answering service. I first started using TruGreen a couple of years ago and all went well until they performed an extra service before I told them to. Aggravated, I cancelled. Couple years go by and last year I decide to try again. All went well. Unfortunately, finances required I cancel the service. Suddenly mid-June of this year they started treating my lawn again. Without me calling and re-newing my service. I called to complain, but they offered to reduce my rates so much, I couldn't say No. Now here we are in November and I've come home to bag leaves and find they have treated my lawn. How could they treat my lawn when it's so covered in leaves you can't see the grass? Is it safe to bag these leaves with all these chemicals on them? Since we aren't allowed to burn, I have to bag them so they don't kill the grass. I have so many leaves that even if I mulch, it would bury the grass. So will all the "treatment' get thrown away with the leaves? And of course I can't get anyone at the office because it went straight to the answering service and I can't wait for them to call me back because I have to get them bagged before it rains. I have had it! No more TruGreen for me. read more
