What used to feel like a place that supported my progress now feels neglected, with some staff appearing to have given up, others pointing fingers, and others simply choosing not to see what's happening around them. First, the closing shift seems to do almost nothing. It's become routine to find benches and squat racks fully loaded with weights from the night before, or bags of garbage left out for the morning opener -- who is often the only person on that shift. These openers receive only a few days of training and then walk into a mess every morning because nothing was handled the night before. It's hard not to feel bad for them. Second, the trainers and group fitness instructors have become increasingly careless. I regularly see trainers finish with clients and leave equipment scattered everywhere. Even when they're working out on their own, weights are left on machines and bars by people who should be setting the standard. Group fitness instructors have also grown noticeably impatient with members. I've personally been told to wrap up what I was doing at 8:45 AM because a class started at 9 -- and "told" is putting it kindly. Meanwhile, independent trainers who aren't even supposed to be here show more respect for the gym than some of the actual staff. I've even noticed what appears to be the general manager training clients, which is surprising given the state of the facility. Instead of addressing the issues, he can often be heard muttering frustrations about his staff while half‑heartedly cleaning or putting plates away in the wrong places. Third -- and most disappointing -- the gym's condition has deteriorated to an unacceptable level. There is mold in every shower. Flies live in the drains. Garbage like wrappers and used bandages can be found on the floor or on machines. "Out of order" signs appear more often than functioning equipment. Showers stay broken for months. Hair balls roll across the group fitness room like tumbleweeds. And on top of all that, some members have such poor hygiene that they clear a 15‑foot radius wherever they go which is an issue many members have brought attention to with the members themselves and with staff. At this point, I feel like I spend more time cleaning and reorganizing the gym than most of the staff. I could list more examples, but the truth is simple: the gym is convenient, and many of us rely on that convenience -- which is likely why nothing changes. It's disappointing that the place that helped me reclaim my health and lose nearly 50 pounds five years ago now feels like it barely cares to keep the doors open. To be fair, not every staff member fits the issues I've described. There are still a few who genuinely care and work hard. But even with them, you can see the spark fade over time as they realize the situation isn't improving.

This isn't a gym that you need to get in shape to go to. At F3, you become part of a family that encourages you to become an even better version of yourself. You can work out in a group setting that helps motivate you while following your own pace. They offer different classes and you get a new workout every time. There is also the opportunity for personal training. This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill gym. Come check it out and see for yourself! You can check out their Facebook for more information as well.

It is not only counterproductive to working out, it can be potentially dangerous to unaware gym members. Management states they're against members playing loud music, yet the trainers for day classes blast music so loud it's impossible to hear my own music at full volume. Makes it very difficult to stay in the zone when your music is being drowned out by loud bass and a woman trainer yelling over the music at the top of her lungs. And finally, they will tell you that they don't mind the mess you make with chalk and sweating on benches without wiping, yet ammonia inhalants are an issue for their staff to clean up. It's contradictory to say make a mess with one workout item yet not another (within reason of course) It also makes no sense that the cleaning staff is unable to use a broom or bend over. Part of my membership fee goes to pay for their cleaning staff, and that staff is apparently unable to even do the bare minimum you would expect when cleaning: sweeping up. Lastly, if you're gonna worry about ammonia inhalants which carry no disease, worry about your members who sweat all over benches and bleed on barbells while never cleaning them when done. This gym has messed up priorities. P.S. some of the 5-star reviews are left by their own staff and trainers. One who's name is Tom, has a review up right underneath someone who mentions that they were trained by him. Something against googles review policy.

I been a member since August 2018 and can I just say .... joining was the best decision of my life…read more In the past I have done boot camps/CrossFit, so I was really hesitant about just doing full on CrossFit. I used to think that CrossFit was only for super fit people, but truly I found out that it was a lie. In CrossFit downriver there is a diversity of ages and levels. When I finally decided to join, I called and spoke to coach Kirk and told him I wanted to do a session (1st one is FREE, if u have never done CrossFit they have a 1:1 class to teach you all the moves, it does have a fee. Recommend because you don't want to hurt your self doing the wrong moves) My first day I was so scared but everyone was so welcoming and helpful ! And that is what drew me to join. They are a huge family and they welcome everyone ! Pros *All the coaches are great and knowledgeable! *huge variety of hours . *sometimes they have parties or get togethers. *they have a crossfit gymnastic class. *coaches help you figure out easier moves or lighter weights. *all ages and skill levels *they push you to finish but at the same time they cheer you on. *they post their workouts on their website and Facebook (I like to mentally prepare myself) *they always have their competition WOD. and their fitness WOD ( I do fitness and I sweat too much ) Cons- *none - well maybe being super sore after every class lol (but the pro is that is good for **************** With every work out I still die (no kidding)... but then I feel so relaxed and accomplished! I love it... Why CrossFit dowriver Because it makes me forget about all my worries for one hour!!!

It opened at 5am, and it was bottles and trash EVERYWHERE! Outdated and ripped equipment. It served it's purpose for the week, but if I lived in the area, I definitely would find a better facility

I remember years ago when they they first put the steering that was new and shining, I haven't been in many years and this is definitely different. I went there for a quick workout, it wasn't overly clean but they could have done some cleaning. They probably should have restocked a lot of the sanitizing wipes, because sometimes I had to go around trying to find one that actually has some wipes in it. Also, probably my biggest thing was all the weights were not organized. If I'm going to go and trying to get some dumbbells, I'm trying to get a 40, and there's a 70 lb weight and I have no idea where the 40 lb weight is, I take issue with that. That's delaying my workout when I'm just trying to go ahead and find the weight in the appropriate place. You're supposed to re-rack your weights and put them in the appropriate place, they don't enforce that. So that is a little, or a lot Irritating. Would I go back, yes I probably will because it was convenient. But at the same time, it seems like it's going down. I didn't really interact with anybody at the facility so I don't really know what the customer service was like. But it's a gym, you go in and work on your own so you don't actually need to.
