Terrible customer service.  In short, my wife scheduled a session and canceled, but, unfortunately,…read moreshe paid in advance.  I know, always a mistake.  She canceled way in advance, but was told--no refunds.  I get it, but I'm like this isn't a large Fortune 500 company, how hard would it be to return the money thereby encouraging a customer to return when they are ready to use your service.  It's just sketchy.  I'm sure the money was spent, but it's not even about the money it's the principle.  I left a review on the company's Facebook page, and it was taken down (after the requisite snarky comments by Facebook humorists--friends of the business owner.  I think one was "poor people problems."  That comment is so true though, it is a poor person, indeed, who can't return a hundred dollars).  I feel that if no effort was expended, then a refund is reasonable request, but I'm sure it was "so much" trouble to book an appointment.

Do not use Lydie J Photo!…read more This was an terrible experience. We contacted Lydia Gross back in November '21 to shoot our wedding in September '22. Lydia set us up with a contract. Over the year we had multiple conversations and even had a video chat. She seemed trustworthy and over all had decent work. We made payments to her every 3 to 4 months per the contract as a deposit. We were in talks with her and she is the one that recommended a anticipation shoot before the wedding. She never showed. It was at this point we started to think things weren't right. Over the 2 weeks leading up to our wedding we attempted to contact her several times. Lydia was updating her Instagram during this time but couldn't respond back to us. It was in our own research that we found out that Lydia had moved back home and didn't have any plans to make the wedding. 4 Days before the wedding she reached out to us and stated below: "I am beyond sorry for the horrible communication on my end. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I will not be able to travel up north for the wedding. I initiated a refund for you guys through honey book and have reached out to a couple photographer friends for coverage of the wedding day. I'll forward contact information as soon as I hear back from one of them." Lydia never contacted us again. It took Lydia another 6 days to start the refund process. Meanwhile we had to pay the other photographer out of our pockets that we had to scramble to get last minute. Lydia updated her Instagram stories the whole time though. Lydia is a classic scam artist. Please do not trust anything she has to say she will lie right to your face.
