Recently I took a trip to Sedona to get a break from the hustle and bustle of life. As I was driving into town I spotted the float spa. I have floated before multiple times and have found that it was very beneficial. Thankfully I was able to get a slot to float after a couple of morning hikes. The atmosphere was very relaxing. I was shown around the little oasis that they created, had some hot tea and ended with an oxygen bar. This is a super MUST try for your Sedona trip. Make sure to call and make an appointment because they only have a few pods. I was a little nervous as I never even heard of a Float Spa until about 3 weeks before my trip. I was on Groupon looking for things to do while I was in Sedona and I was intrigued and in the market to try something new so I bought it. I called and booked an appointment once I had already arrived, it was off season so not too crowded all around. During the busier months spring and fall you will most likely want to call farther in advance. Doesn't look like too much on the outside and has it's own private shared parking lot. Once you step in you are transported to a spa experience almost instantaneously. Wear flip flops because you will switch to their old navy flops to walk around within the facility. I was given a small tour and sat down to watch a quick introduction video. Then I was escorted to my private room and the process was explained. This is where I had a few problems. I was told to wash/rinse before I got in and then the music would start to let me know my time had begun. I was told that you could control whether the music was on or off. I was also told that you could control whether the lights were on or off. I could not control either. I was then told that the music would come back on or change when it was time to get out and that never happened either. I ended up over my time because of these malfunctions in the room/pod. There are only two pods that I am aware of so if someone books a 2 hour float or something.. could back up the line. So please call for an appointment! That coupled with I could hear talking outside of the pod/room a little was a bit distracting for a bit, had I really been going full on I would've had to get out and say something. Only other thing I would say is that they should change to more environmentally friendly items. The float experience itself was amazing. I practice yoga so it wasn't too out of the norm for me, but it was an amazing experience that I plan to take part in again returning to my home area! After showering (make sure you wash really good, the salt crusts up and dries in a not so flattering manner!) and getting dressed you come back out to the real world feeling like you just received a massage. The level of physical relaxation is phenomenal! I chose to take part in the oxygen bar for an additional $5 or $10 too (lemongrass) was delightful. I even bought one of their T-shirts because the quality is sooo comfortable and soft. Definitely recommend! read more

Now that I've been a member of True REST for about a year, I feel good about revising my review to give them another star. I visit for a float about once a month. The most stressful part of the experience, frankly, is driving from Flagstaff to Sedona, depending on tourist traffic! Once I arrive, I appreciate that the staff is always ready for me and that the pod is clean and prepared. In the last year, there was one time that the pod seemed a little cool, but overall the temperature is good and the salinity level seems appropriate. (The pods at the Tempe location seem to be a little more saline, however, making me more buoyant at the Tempe store, but I'm used to Sedona now.) I also like the new booking system which is much more user friendly. The team members are friendly and considerate. There are a lot of first-time floaters at this location and from what I overhear, the team is kind and understanding of any questions you might have. Make an appointment and give it a try! read more

The energy and warmth of the decor is inviting. The price is a good value (there is also a first timers $59 per hour rate). I loved it. The float itself is 60 minutes in your own private room. They play music and you can adjust the lighting. I went total dark and total silent. I had strange and wonderful meditative experiences. Afterwards, the oxygen scents are divine (eucylyptus was my choicd). After, the tea was delicious. They have hair dryers and a restoration room for when you're done. I highly recommend this place! My mom and I came here while on a small get-away. The employees were very friendly and the salon was incredibly clean. It was also very easy to get a session in. Pods- filled with hundreds of pounds of salt, you effortlessly float. There is music but you cannot control it. Some songs would blast as others would be hard to hear. This made it a little hard to relax. Be careful not to touch your face. I kept getting salt in my eyes making it yet again hard to relax. Time- you have 5 minutes to change, shower and get settled in, similar to tanning. You are floating in the pod for 1 full hour. To me I would prefer to do it for 30 minutes, but when you are paying the high price, I didn't want to get out. Price- $80 for one 60 minute session. They offer monthly packages, good for 1 or 2 floats a month depending on what you pay for. I'm an athlete and I'm very familiar to muscle recovery. I didn't get anything out of this treatment. I personally would rather get a 60 minute massage. I'm giving this buisness 4 stars only because I didn't get any positive outcomes from this technique. My boyfriend and I were visiting Sedona and had planned on receiving massages while on vacation. While driving through town I saw the float spa and suggested we float instead. I'm so glad we did. It was our first time and the gentleman who helped us, was amazing, kind, patient, and welcoming. We were the last appointment for the night and it was a Sunday night. We didn't feel rushed, we didn't feel cut short. Even when I asked to blow dry my hair aftwards he told me to take my time. I struggled to quiet my mind, but the informational videos we watched beforehand gave some great tips. Eventually I dozed off and was woken up when the jets went off. Amazing experience. This was my first float tank and I can't wait to do it again. The folks at True Rest, Chuck and Jessa, were awesome, explained everything and answered all my questions and the spa is very clean and comfortable. I have tried many holistic healing options to alleviate pain and help in my recovery of a full quad rupture just over a year ago. Float worked. So far 14 hours without pain in my thigh or knee. I haven't been pain free for this long since the night before my injury. The float was very cool. It felt like my body was taffy being gently pulled and stretched, but I wasn't moving. You feel so light you forget you're in water. It just felt like warm air all around. I turned the lights out, but lights on is an option if you're a little claustrophobic. The only part that kind of weirded me out was listening to my breathing. I had to remind myself that even if I couldn't hear it, I was still breathing. It was a little bit of an odd sensation and thing to tell yourself. So glad I decided to do this! I only wish I could make this my regular location! I will be back next time I'm in Sedona. This was my first time floating and it was incredible. I was definitely skeptical at first; I have pretty serious ADHD so the concept of sitting still in silence and darkness while trying to relax was...unappealing. But it was awesome! I ended up falling asleep for 45 or so minutes and woke up feeling relaxed and refreshed! Great atmosphere, great relaxation, and great conversation. It's always good to introduce floating to people at a great location with comforting, involved and caring people. My partner and I have been here a couple of times and while I recommend it, I think they could make some small changes to drastically improve the space. The employees are always super friendly and helpful! No complaints in that department. My only issue with this spa is that they do not have reusable glasses/ hand towels. If you want tea or water after your float, you have to use paper or non recyclable plastic cups. They use paper towels instead of actual hand towels in the restroom. I've floated in quiet a few places and this has never been the case before.(I've also worked at a float spa) They only have two pods, so it seems like switching to reusable and washable items wouldn't put much strain on the employees or owners. When it comes down to it, if you're marketing yourself as a spa and wellness center, I think it's also important to care about the environment, especially in a place like Sedona. Please switch to reusable glassware and move away from paper towels! read more

Decided to give True Rest a try. My first visit, I was hooked. Tyler was incredibly friendly when I arrived. Wasn't pushy about your membership, unlike other places that offer membership packages. The faculty was beautiful and relaxing. Everything was incredibly clean. Tyler gave me the opportunity to ask questions and get recommendations for the best experience. I'm a very restless, constant movement individual. I have always had a difficult time with regular sleep schedules and an internal battle with insomnia. I have had a monthly membership for about 8 months now. I discovered TruRest Sedona initially via a Northern Arizona Groupon, my first visit was hosted by the owner Rene Russell. Rene and all the float consultants that I have encountered are wonderfully trained and knowledgable. They know you by name when you enter the relaxing welcoming spa type lobby where you will exchange your street shoes for a pair of clean spa slippers (in order to keep the salt in and dirt out) On your initial visit you are brought to room lined with Energy charged salt lamps and invited to relax and drink tea while watching a short introduction video on the history and techniques of Float therapy. You are then individually brought to your private secure spa shower room where your float pod is located. The rooms are beautifully lined in mosaic tiles and equipped with clean towels and a motion sensor light. The clean spa type shower is inviting to initially rinse and post rinse off any residue salt you will have all over you! (you are floating in over a thousand pounds of highly buoyant sea salt in body temperature water and environment after all.) Everyone has there own experience with float therapy. It is recharging for me, I personally find myself getting a lot of mind work done, I bring a small waterproof notepad with me and write notes and words and Ideas down that come to me while I'm in the session. Some people claim experiences of hallucinations or visions. After your float session you will want to rinse if again and use the all natural high end hair and body wash products that are provided. I enjoy the Oxygen bar lot after my sessions, there a handful of essential oil scents to choice from. During the oxygen therapy you just sit and breathe and enjoy some more tea and reminisce about your float or talk and share the experience with other floaters in the oxygen lounge. Was told by the clerk that our appointment wasn't in the system (reportedly it happened earlier in the week as well) and to contact Groupon for a refund.
