When you are tired of the music that don't make sense, this station is refreshing. I especially like the "morning cruise" Bill Martin and Dave Cruse and double kudos when Carmen Brown host along with the crew, she has plenty of upbeat comments and a *unique funny laughter, which is easy and recognizable when she gets going in her laugh, you can hear her cute snort . Then there's Dan Brodie in the afternoon, he can also be as zany but strict into the word of God throughout the day. A fine Jayar who drives you home with his blessings and good music .. Michelle Tellone has a young vibrant voice for radio keeps you upbeat from dinner time to bed time. Her praise and worship is modern and contemporary. When it's time for bed you should have Steve Surrete on the boom-box, he's a NiteLight Jazz Christian DJ who uses Christian Jazz music as a blend to the daily contemporary. Their outreach prayer messages goes out to all that falls short in prayer and wisdom. This station is certainly a family friendly station and is clean as a Holy Whistle on the air. Uniquely unlike typical radio stations the Joy FM is funded by the community and not by any commercial ads. You can say it is Entertaining, Conservative and a humble Christian radio station. I enjoy the stations' latest in Christian Contemporary Music and all their entertaining hosts! I have to credit this radio station for raising my new interest in attending Christian music concerts all over Florida! Rarely, if ever, during drive times does a song end without a commercial playing. Now, granted they're not commercials screaming at me to buy cars that I don't want and previously could not afford, but they are still unwelcome repetitive ads (the main reason I stopped listening to for-profit radio in the late 1980s) - even if they're advertising the station itself - and there aren't that many, so we have to hear them over and over and over and over and over again... Combined with my self-imposed news hiatus (I'm not advocating for cutting the news, I just personally do not want to hear it for 5 minutes every half hour, especially now in March 2025...), I spend more time muting and changing the station than I do actually listening, so unfortunately I can rarely listen to this station anymore.

WiLD 98.7 was the first radio station I listened to when I moved to Florida. The station had a…read morestrong hold on many people in the Tampa Bay area and still does. Playing mainly Hip-Hop music, the DJs all party throughout the Tampa Bay area and are like mini-celebs. The station almost died a few years ago and they kept receiving eons of callers begging them not to die. They had a huge farewell concert that earned them so much money that they were able to stay. Now they have that concert every year called "The Last Damned Show" and also have a spring event called "WiLD Splash". The morning show had it's moments and one day they actually made me laugh when they cracked a joke about Ashlee Simpson changing her hairstyle every day. I think they called her a "crack head" or something, completely uncalled for but funny. They mostly the latest hip-hop songs and are ahead of the trend of other cities radio stations, having a connection with many bay area and other rappers. The only reason I'm not a super huge fan of them is their commercial sessions can last really long so I'll end up changing the station and not changing it back. Whenever I go clubbing at a hip-hop club and want to know what songs I heard, I can usually find them on this radio station or their website.
