According to the paper's website it is the only African American publication in Florida that prints twice weekly and owns all its own printing equipment. The paper originally operated in Jacksonville, Florida In 1919 before closing during the Great Depression. It was reopened as a weekly by the son of the owner of that paper, C. Blythe Andrews, in Tampa in December, 1945 at 1511 Central Avenue. The Tampa Bulletin was purchased in 1959 and became twice weekly. In 1962 the paper moved to its current location of 2207 East 21st Avenue. It seems to be distributed mostly around the Sulphur Springs area of Tampa and I have not seen it much elsewhere. When I called The Florida Sentinel the person I spoke with was very kind. She was also familiar with my request and walked me through the process. She provided me with all the information I needed before going into the office to place the ad so I was well prepared. Because of this the process did not take long. The staff is very polite and knowledgeable.

This has nothing to do with a business these were used systems different tonnages, another because i put a 1-800 number again for something for sale but since the number is "linked to a business" then a truck lift gate $1900 OBO..."has to be 1500 to list for free or $10" so i speak with Dave on the phone and explained my disgust who he could careless i re posted my AC for sale under my PERSONAL NUMBER but since i complained to Dave that ad was too DENIED lol. Wont even bother posting on this worthless paper anymore it will get denied just because they have a ego the size of Texas!

The Osprey Observer started publishing as a newsletter in 2001. The main focus was to cover community news and activities specifically in FishHawk Ranch. After the first month, residents started requesting more news from the surrounding community and we started to expand. We added the subdivision of FishHawk Trails, River Hills and Bloomingdale within the first four months and were printing more than 10,000 copies per month after only six months. Quickly we realized there could be unlimited growth to the paper and we had to strive to maintain a focus. What did we want to become? What continued to set us apart from the rest? The response is content. We are different because our stories cover the communities we are in. We wanted to maintain our reputation as a strong community newspaper despite our desire to grow. Our first goal was to identify 15,000 homes to include in the Bloomingdale/FishHawk edition and then to expand after 18 months into a completely new edition, Riverview. The Riverview edition started with eight pages and 10,000 homes and is now 36 pages delivered to 16,500 homes in Riverview and Apollo Beach.
