So far I've liked all of the treats I've bought a lot (I very much learned that the idea of an ice cream cookie sandwich is better than the actual thing - the ice cream melts and gets everywhere and the cookies get hard and wet; it would be one thing if they were smaller and you could tackle them in 2-3 bites but the cookies are huge and you get like half a pint of ice cream jammed between them), but I think the cupcakes are my favorite. There's a chocolate peanut butter one that holds first place in my heart currently! I love treat shops and I could find myself going here more often if I found the prices easier for my wallet to manage. 2-3 smallish treats can sometimes set me back $10-15 and I yet again have to remind myself I can't allow myself to frequent this business any more than maybe 1 day a month.

I had a fluffy red velvet cupcake with a whipped cream cheese icing. There isn't much seating inside but that's a great opportunity to order a treat, grab a fork and visit neighboring stores in town.

The staff member that helped us was so friendly and helpful. She let us know that it's a good idea to buy in advance as they sell out quickly. She wasn't kidding! Some cakes often have a large amount of frosting due to aesthetics and can be hard to enjoy due to being overpoweringly sweet. This cake was so good with its ratio I had the perfect bite each time. River City Chocolate is the true embodiment of a hidden gem, tucked away between some industrial looking buildings lies an amazing bakery with so much heart. Walked in and was happily greeted by Mrs. Joy herself! This establishment checks every box on my 5 star list.
