Lisa and her team provided us with not only an outstanding product, but an impeccable service as well. I have worked with personal and commercial photographers over the past 7 years, and because Lisa's service was so outstanding I have partnered with her on several commercial photography projects. I'd recommend Photography by Lisa Garcia for high-end photography services, particularly portraits, in Fairfield County.

We did an in-home season with Kristyn, who is incredibly warm and has a magical energy. Our time…read moretogether felt like spending the morning with an old friend- we played inside and outside, had a snack, and did the usual toddler things in between- diaper changes, putting on boots "all by self!" Kristyn is a mama and was clearly familiar with all of these exchanges. What was profound was how she saw and documented these little, everyday moments for us. There have been so many times when I've been doing something routine like reading my daughter a book or changing a diaper or feeding her a snack when I've wished someone could snap a photo, because that's what I want to remember and what I want my daughter to see later. These tiny moments are big in their own way- they are a few of the ways we show our love for our daughter day after day. Kristyn saw us in all of our beautiful, chaotic, messy, loving, happy glory, and it means the world to me that my daughter can look at these photos later and see that despite all the messiness and imperfection in our lives, our love for her is so complete and perfect. Of course, I had aspired to get my hair blown out and have our home looking great, but I'm so glad I didn't wait any longer to have photos taken at home, and there is something sweet about the moments of messiness that are there in the photos. Kristyn saw us for who we are and gave us the gift of documenting us, just as we are right now, in the most beautiful way. I've never felt more seen before, and I couldn't be more grateful. We're already saving up for our next session with her. I can't recommend her more highly.

But you would never know it from the photos. They caught every important and special moment even without having been briefed on the ceremony. They are geniuses with lighting. I thought I could never take a good candid photo, but wow, did they prove otherwise. I am glowing in every shot. They made us feel at ease and skillfully guided us into natural smiles and poses. Their turnaround after the ceremony was extremely fast. They were easy to work with and catered a package to meet our needs. We just ordered prints from them as well, and they look amazing. Given the rush of our quarantined wedding, these photos are so much more than I could have hoped for.

Somehow he pulled off a miracle and printed 20 photo T-shirts in front and back printing with lightning speed. He made my sons class gift very special for the teacher (giant foam core poster collage of the students and teachers pics) and the matching shirts were perfect for the whole kindergarten. I was so impressed I came back in a couple days with my photos for Father's Day. Yet another impossible deadline, or so I thought... The Fathers Day tee shirts he designed for us were perfect. He let me bring him my own tees so they were a perfect fit, he resized the image for the baby's tee. He printed "I'm Dad's Favorite" on the back of all 4.. It was Mark's great idea that gave the kids so many laughs!! We also made a matching canvas gift bag, later repurposed as a diaper bag, and another giant foam core poster greeting card, with individual photo cards for the kids to fill out (Mark's idea also). It was raining on pick up day so he wrapped the huge poster board for me and it was gift ready. It was the "Best Father's Day ever" according to a hard to please man ;) thanks to the amazing quality photo gifts we gave him. Mark really impressed me as he beat the price of others including samedaytees, walgreens, Walmart) while doing all the work much faster. Also I don't think you can get hard foam core posters at those places. You can email him files and he will give you a quote before doing the work. Now I have seen for myself why so many local businesses use Big Prints!

We had a longer engagement, and as soon as we met with Nick, we knew we had to hire him for our wedding, and ended up hiring him two years in advance. From the first point of contact, Nick was extremely responsive and helpful. We scheduled our engagement pictures, and, unfortunately, it ended up pouring the day of, however, Nick immediately had ideas of alternate indoor locations for the pictures. He also gave advice regarding what colors to wear for the pictures so they really worked well with the surroundings. The engagement photographs were absolutely stunning. The week prior to the wedding, we talked to Nick over the phone to confirm the schedule. The day of the wedding, Nick caught the most beautiful moments, all while being completely discreet. We never noticed him around during the ceremony or reception, yet, he and his team were there to capture everything. Long story short, all of the wedding photographs were incredibly beautiful, and we are so happy that we chose Nick Benson as our wedding photographer. He also did a fantastic job on our album!!!

We had been corresponding via email about the details of what we were looking for. I got the sense that they were not willing to be as flexible as we were hoping and this turned out to be the case when we met with them. For example, we were not interested in adding any albums to our package as they are expensive and up the wedding budget. Nick and Becky acted like this was the strangest request they've ever heard and went on a very sales-pitchy/cheesy/disingenuous pitch on why albums were important. This left us feeling like we could not trust them. Even with this feeling though, we were still interested in working with them. My personal style or preferences were not really discussed and when it was addressed, I was again told that this was an unusual request to discuss specific poses or styles. I found that hard to believe, as with other photographers, this was discussed at length - i even showed a few pictures from pinterest that I liked. And lastly, we felt that our business was not needed or wanted. As a customer, you want to feel important and like your business is wanted. Nick's pictures are beautiful in terms of their quality and clarity. I found there was something missing in terms of some of the poses/style. But that's just my personal opinion. When I emailed after our meeting, I was told that we seemed to be disinterested in them, which was far from the case. We both agree that it was not the best fit, and I appreciate their honesty in recognizing this. But I feel like if they were willing to be more flexible, we would have worked great together. Overall, it seems like they run things in a "my way or the highway" type. Which is fine, as I am sure they get plenty of business. But you might want to keep looking if you are looking for a more personalized package/person to work with you.
