They have 75…read morecompletely breathtaking acres of land on their property, and all their horses are completely unique. I thought it was very scenic and that Nicole D. should maybe select a different stable if she were going to complain about the view. I also scheduled a birthday party for my daughter a couple years ago or so, and she and I absolutely loved it! Their horses were sweet and weren't stubborn or cross at all and when we rode, and when we scheduled for our five riders (me, my daughter, a few friends), they responded right away and scheduled it. I do have to admit, though, the ride was quite pricey for such a short ride, in my point of view. I think that Sunnyside should probably charge less as it is quite expensive. IMPORTANT: It does say that there is a minimum of 5 children on the website. Quote, "90 Minutes of horseback riding!! Please contact Ashley 651-895-4039 (text is best) for rates and availability. $45.00 per child, birthday child FREE (minimum 5 riders) or email rodeochick149@yahoo.com" - webpage on birthday parties Last summer, though, my daughter (9 @ party, 10 @ camp) took the summer camp. She said, and voiced this aloud, that she thought that the camp was more geared toward 8-year-olds, rather than the 13-year-old age limit that is said on the site. Apparently there was also a majority of younger kids in her camp and that made it less fun for her because she didn't make very many friends. Her recommendation is for there to be separate camps, one for beginner (6-10) and one for advanced (11-16) or something like that.

Something felt like it was missing from me. When my daughter showed interest I set out to find the right barn. After many lessons and visits to countless barns I was on the edge of giving up. When Covid hit I decided it was time to buy my daughter a pony. She fell in love with a little guy named Rocky. He had been abused and was very green but they had an amazing connection. I was reaching out to everyone I knew trying to find someone who could take on this huge project. A well respected restaurant owner I had know and worked with for many years recommended I check out Horse Play Ranch and the resident trainer Ms.H. The first think I LOVED is that the parking lot is on the other side of the street from the facilities meaning a safer environment for horse and rider. Ms. H was finishing up a lesson and I listened in. She was so kind in her corrections of the student and helped her student understand the horses state of mind, how the horses thoughts and feelings were being communicated by his actions. I was so impressed she would have had me right there. When she greeted us she paid a ton of attention to my daughter and made her feel REALLY important. I moved Rocky there right away and enrolled my daughter in lessons. My daughter went from shy and scared to confident and bold. It translated from riding to every other aspect of her life. Rocky went from a scared little pony to a sassy little man who can jump, drive and handle any new task with an enthusiastic attitude. Being part of the Horse Play Ranch has been the biggest blessing that I have had in my life. The people are kind and truly love animals of all kinds. The place is beautiful and full of energy. My family and my horses have never been so connected and happy. I can't thank these people enough for everything they do!

We were simply waiting on final feedback from the vet and felt confident about the next steps. However, we were later told that the horse had been shown to another interested party who ended up placing a deposit. At no point during our visit or follow-up were we informed that a deposit was required to secure him. We absolutely would have placed a deposit immediately if that had been communicated. We were told an email had been sent, but it was missed during a busy workday. Given how time-sensitive these situations are, a quick phone call would have made all the difference--especially since we were only contacted by phone after the horse was no longer available.  Overall, the lack of clear and timely communication was extremely frustrating and left us heartbroken. We hope this feedback encourages better communication practices in the future so other families don't have a similar experience.

You get to know about the horse you're riding, and they give you a horse that's compatible with your riding experience. You can't call too far ahead though, because the riding is dependent on the weather. The trails that you ride through are muddy and can get flooded as well. Also, you are in the woods for 1-2hrs so dress for the weather. That includes bug spray or sunscreen if needed. I'd recommend going in the fall to avoid those things! Beautiful scenery, no bugs, and no overheating! They also mention to wear pants and closed toed shoes. There were a total of four of us and then the guide for the two hour trail ride. Keep in mind, there is no way to hear the guide up front unless you are right behind them but that was no big deal. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the river. They asked level of experience and picked the horses for us. If you aren't flexible, you'll have a hard time mounting the horse. I'm surprised they don't provide a stool for this.I watched this poor lady struggle to get on the horse and the worker had to help her up. Our legs were sore afterwards so I could see an hour being enough for young kiddos. Our horses were well behaved. Mine was sassy and I liked seeing that personality. Overall, a great experience!
