Looked for somewhere tog eat flowers. The site says 7am opening for valentine day. I come at 8:20am and they aren't open. The sign light is on and people are inside but doors are locked. They seen me trying to open the door and looking and they just ignored me. Could be skin color could be they are closed I don't know because they didn't answer the door. read more

I wrote the following letter to True Colors. I waited for a response from them and never received one. Here is the letter: You may not remember me but I came in near the end of January and talked with you for more than half an hour about the flowers for my mother's memorial service. We talked about the different kinds of flowers I wanted. I paid $175 those flowers the day I ordered them. I ordered from you because, in the past, I have always loved your work. However, this time that could not be further from the case. When I arrived at the church and saw the flowers, I was devastated. I had other arrangements sent by friends from other flower shops (and from yours) that were far superior to what you had done. I was seriously considering using one of those arrangements instead of yours when I saw a friend who arranges flowers. I talked with him and he was able to rearrange the flowers to make them somewhat acceptable. The worst part was the fact that there were flowers that were actually already wilting. It looked terrible. I don't know who put the arrangement together but you may want to figure it out and have a talk with them. Because of this work, I will no longer be using you for flowers. By comparison, I ordered a similar type arrangement from another shop for church in memory of my friend's daughter. I spent $100. There were way more flowers, they were fresh, none of them were wilting and they were delivered on Friday for Sunday. Because they were so beautiful, and I am still upset about the work you did, I decided to write and let you know. Obviously, I will not be using you again for flowers. read more

The Birds of Paradise, not easy to find without special ordering, were not currently in stock at their shop. They kindly called around to locate those and others I wanted for a tropical arrangement and delivered less than 24 hours later, before noon the very next day. Our experience with True Colors began as an incredible thing; we fell in love with Sammy, her vision and her genuine kindness. By the end of everything, we feel were disrespected, that members of the business displayed unprofessionalism throughout, as well as our flowers being inaccurate. Our expectations may have been too high, but we were greatly disappointed nonetheless. The stars in this review are specifically for Sammy, not the business as a whole, as Sammy was the best part of our experience. Moving closer to the wedding, we made a payment towards what we owed, and I found out that our bill had increased a little over $30. We signed a contract agreeing we owed them that amount of money, so we needed to stick with that. Only to find out this increase had occurred because of the tax increase. When I noticed it on the receipt (it stated the remaining total, the paid amount as well as the overall bill) I called and spoke with Emily at the desk. She was also kind and said it sounded as though the tax increase was affecting our bill, and agreed that this was odd and she'd talk to someone higher to get it fixed. I received a phone call from Jamie (later to find out this is the owner of the shop). I couldn't answer the call, so have a voicemail of her telling me "we(referring to the business) still have to pay the taxes" so that adjustment would not be made. No one is happy to receive an answer they didn't want, and while we could get passed that we could not get passed the tone of voice used, nor the blame we began receiving. "You're not the only bride experiencing this but you're the only one upset by it" "other vendors are doing this to you, you just didn't notice it" ( inaccurate) "we're a small business, it's difficult to understand" etc. Bottom line, we signed a contract this group created and the company didn't adhere to their own costs. Eventually they agreed to remove the cost of something to balance the percentage back out, but even this only deducted $15 from the bill. Jamie dropped our flowers off to the church, asked when the boys would arrive so she could come back to pin them, and left a good contact number with one of my bridesmaids. Their bouquets were to be primarily white with accents of plum from plum carnations. The carnations in the bouquets were a fuchsia. When Jamie was contacted, her response was to send a photo of my contract, essentially confirming she did everything right. I didn't handle this situation, but I was told it took some convincing to get her back to the church to rectify the situation. She came back, only to tell the girls the shop ordered plum carnations, this is what was sent to them. The girls dresses were plum, the flowers in my bouquet were plum, and plum carnations exist as images on google, and after seeing the three to compare the color from the supplier, she began popping the carnation heads out of the bouquets, finally agreeing the color was wrong. We were happy with the solution, not so much with the demeanor of the owner of the shop. She remained at the church, brooding until the guys arrived. When she began pinning the boutonnieres, she grumpily told our videographer he could captured her pinning "but better not get her in the shot." She arrived in a pizza sweatshirt and hair thrown up with a clip. Not sure if she was aggravated from the situation with the bridesmaids or didn't feel her attire was professional for camera, but the attitude continued nonetheless. She left before pinning everyone, and my bridesmaids had to continue pinning the guys instead of finishing getting ready, despite the fee included in our bill of them pinning and setting up flowers. Jamie pinned my groom's boutonnière, but his fell off sometime during the day and we are no longer able to keep that or repot the succulent it had on it, a sentimental detail we looked forward to. Lastly, my bouquet arrived with its white roses beginning to wilt, and only slightly larger than my bridesmaids. We paid $180 for a bridal bouquet, that didn't quite meet the expectations set by the cost and the discussions had between myself and Sammy. The colors and flowers used in it were what we discussed, and she included succulents ready to be repotted as we requested. The two stars are for Sammy, not the business, as she was the best part of our experience with this place. It saddens me, but I don't foresee this as a business we will use in the future, nor recommend it to those looking for a florist. read more

I have received two of the most beautiful flower arrangements I've ever had from True Colors Floral shop. It was such a pleasure getting such beautiful arrangements. Both bouquets lasted a long time. The vase was even decorated with pretty colored wire on one of the arrangements. I highly recommend this flower shop. read more

I ordered an arrangement for my mother-in-law for Mothers day in May from True Colors in Springfield, IL. I asked them to make something nice for her. I gave them a budget of all-in for $100 and I was billed $103 or so. I got 1 cala lily and two purple hyacinths in a basket. The Hyacinths ended up starting to brown within a few days. I placed 3-4 calls to True Colors in Springfield with no response. It has been about a month since the delivery and still no one has called me. I don't think I got a great value and I was embarassed when I received a picture of the arrangement. Future patrons should know to be very specific with your order to make sure you get exactly what you are expecting. They might short you if you don't. I felt shorted and taken advantage of at my mother-in-laws expense. I don't think there is a way to upload a photo, but i have one and would be happy to share with anyone who would like to see it. This Florist is phenomenal! I was in from out of town for a party and I needed flowers for arrangements. I called ahead and Ellen was so extremely helpful that I decided to purchase from them. I had so much helpful suggestions from them AND they were soo patient with me as I figured out what I needed. And they did all of this while they were working on two huge weddings!! Which were absolutely exquisite looking arrangements. The flower options they had available were exciting and varied. True colors floral did an amazing job working with us to make our wedding day perfect! Sammy is always cheerful and very easy to work with. They adjusted their delivery schedule due to an unexpected AM event at the church that delayed set up for our wedding that afternoon and still had everything looking perfect and had the guys boutonnières pinned on, on time. We needed two flower girl "flower wands" but only one was made due to confusion with our contract. Sammy quickly made a second flower wand for our second flower girl without a hesitation and they were super cute. They repurposed our flowers at our reception for us and helped bring our reception space to life. Everything was perfect, the flowers are beautiful and the girls are all easy and fun to work with. My bridal bouquet is still in a vase looking lovely, 2.5 weeks post wedding! read more
