This review is for laser hair removal with Heidi. Brazilian and underarms to be specific. I make the trek from as far as downtown to come here's, because there's no one better than Heidi. Heidi recently came here from another location, where I used to see her as long as 7 years ago now. I have met very few people in my life as good at their job -- and as passionate about it -- as Heidi is about making you perfectly hairless. She has been doing laser hair removal for longer than I've done any one thing in my life, so she definitely knows what she's doing. She is professional, knowledgeable, kind, and generally all the things you want from someone in her field. You get a bit up close and personal with someone doing any sort of Brazilian treatment on you, and it could have easily been awkward, but it's not at all. Heidi absolutely knows how to make you comfortable, both physically and mentally. I am actually sad I don't see her more often, because I truly enjoy her company -- but she's just too good at her job, and my hair just doesn't grow back that much anymore. The prices here are honestly no more than the average for the industry, and definitely less than some downtown locations I've looked at. read more

Called to reschedule my appointment due to meetings being scheduled at work, left a voicemail, left a text, left an email regarding the reschedule. Never heard from anyone but received a text notification stating they missed my appointment and redeem my Groupon. I probably will not go here anyway since the people practicing micro-needling are not dermatologists. read more

I scheduled an appointment about a week and a half in advance and had it confirmed twice before. I show up about 5 minutes before the start and the doors are locked and the lights are off. I call the number a couple times, no answer. I text the number, no answer. About 8 minutes after the start of my appointment, someone shows up and asks if I'm here for the spa. Turns out, the lady who was supposed to do my facial called out last minute and no one else had access to her appointment books. I did not get my facial that day. Fallon was lovely and understanding! I had the most wonderful experience at True Beauty! The spa is just beautiful inside as well as very clean. I came in for Botox and to even out my lip filler as it was improperly done by a different injector. Their injector Kato was amazing with me. She listened to my concerns, let me ask any questions I had, and then talked me through a game plan she created to help get me the results I was looking for. She was professional and friendly and really made the appointment a comfortable/positive experience. My lips are looking beautiful and I can't wait to come back again. Kato took amazing care of me. It was my first time doing Botox and she made me feel so comfortable. I told her what I wanted and she educated me on what methods I could use to get my desired results. I really, really wanted to give this place a better review, so I waited until after the second appointment, in hopes that I could describe a positive outcome. But I can't. I bought a Groupon for a plasma fibroblast pen treatment on my upper lids. I had already had my lower lids and upper lids done at another Med spa. I don't know if my poor treatment was because I had a Groupon (the regular cost of the treatment is $500. The Groupon for first-time clients was $199, plus there was a special, so I paid $159), but the point of Groupon is to try new places and services and potentially become a regular client. That won't be happening. I have used Groupons for many beauty services and treatments, and never before felt that I wasn't receiving full service. I can't honestly say that the treatment I received here wasn't full service, because I don't know. Maybe everyone gets skimpy numbing. Kim claimed that she uses medical-grade numbing cream. Okay, but it doesn't take effect in only 15-20 minutes. It takes 30-45 minutes. Kim, the medical esthetician, is very personable and enthusiastic, and has great skin herself. But I don't think that she used enough numbing cream, and she DEFINITELY did not leave it on long enough. I can take a fair amount of pain for beauty, but with appropriate numbing. Kim ended up dialing down the intensity to, apparently, almost nothing. She didn't do my eyelids AT ALL, even though the whole upper lid area was supposed to be treated. She did offer to numb me some more, but numbing really needs about 45 minutes to take full effect. Kim waited about 15-20 minutes before starting my treatment. Completely insufficient. I still tipped her $40. It was impossible to tell, after the treatment, that I had even had one. Quite the contrast with my previous treatments at the other spa. (Three days after my treatments at the other spa, I had dark brown scabs. Three days after Kim's treatment, I had light beige scabs.) And when I looked in a mirror and saw my untouched eyelids, I was very unhappy. I contacted Kim and reminded her that we had discussed this treatment, and the whole eyelid was supposed to be zapped. She said that she stopped because there was too much pain, but she would do the eyelids and a touch-up if I would come back on Friday. So I did. Once again, insufficient numbing for too short a time. WTF. Three days later, no scabs on eyelids, no change on upper lids from previous treatment on Monday. Tipped her $10 this time. I don't know anything about the other services at True Beauty, but I absolutely cannot recommend getting expensive plasma fibroblast treatments here. Although MAYBE, if you pay full price, you will get more numbing cream and be numbed for longer than I was. Kim was surprised at the intensity of the scabbing on my lower lids and upper lip. Yeah, I could take it because I was NUMBED PROPERLY. (I was given medical-grade numbing cream and applied it myself at home 45 minutes before my scheduled appointment.) BF is treating me to another upper lid treatment after this non-noticeable poor excuse heals. I don't think I even have to wait the full 12 weeks. I don't see any potential effect on my upper lids. Waste of time and money. Two stars because it's a nice facility, and because Kim did offer a second appointment at no extra charge. Then again, she should have done the entire area correctly the first time. The plasma arcs also weren't spaced as closely as they should have been. I watched an enormous number of videos, looked at tons of Google images, and scoured RealSelf before considering this procedure. I knew what to expect, and I did not get it from Kim. read more

Absolutely incredible results in ONE visit! Amanda gave me laser treatment on my dark spots and they are almost completely gone. It didn't hurt, but she was very skilled at communicating with me to be sure. She explained exactly what she was doing and was very professional and friendly. My husband was looking at me with googlie eyes! He said he can tell how clear my face looks and we both couldn't be happier with the results. Also, they are CHEAPER than other salons!!! I came to True Beauty Med Spa when this location took staff from another spa that closed. I had full body laser hair removal session with Heidi and she is fantastic. Heidi makes you feel very comfortable, she is very attentive, and is very informative about the laser process.
