The staff( from custodial, maintenance, activities, kitchen, nursing to administrative) has demonstrated a genuine concern for his medical(24/7 nursing access) and physical (meals, laundry, personal hygiene, a clean room) needs. The three meals per day he has thoroughly enjoyed, as he has put on fifteen pounds in his three months there ( served at his bedside instead of the spacious community dining room; he has been spoiled.) Our sister-in-law(Eloise G. -a nurse of 45yrs., retired) after visiting commended the facility and personnel for their cleanliness, lack of odors and professionalism-their caring attitude was exemplary. This assessment was very reassuring to our family. We thank his primary care physician ( Dr. Borgfeld) for having recommended Autumn Winds. She likes almost everything they serve her to eat, and Lisa Marie makes sure there's plenty of activities to keep her occupied. My mother is 98 years old, but still very social and has so much to look forward to. She does not just stay in her room. She joins in on activities and looks forward to her days. No staff was there to greet her or give her any guidance out her stay. She wound up having to urinate while lying in her bed and there for two hours until someone finally came in. During the week she was there she was unable to take a shower as her bathroom had no hot water. Several times her meals never showed up so she had to continually ask for food. When it came, it was cold. It was obvious it had been sitting for quite awhile. during the week she was there, she was given physical therapy only twice for thirty minutes each. The staff was all very unfriendly and apathetic. Unfortunately, I don't have one good thing to say about this institution. My friend left AMA...against medical advice...though not one person advised her that she should stay. and, if they did, why would she?
