We ordered a two tier cake for a baby shower. To the guest it looked pretty. To my husband and I who ordered it and paid for it it was a disappointment. It was a pink cake with a Halloween theme. We spoke to the Julie about what we wanted. I told her we wanted a cake with pastel pink, lavender and orange pumpkins. Julie said that she would do a vine on the pumpkins and that they would do the pumpkins right, left, right ,on the top ,middle and bottom layers. It was probably my fault for assuming the decorations would be piped with icing. What we got was a two tier cake with pink and white Pumpkins. They were on the top and then the bottom on the right and left side. There was no vines or leaves and the pumpkins was make of rice crispy treats that was just laying on top and around the bottom. My husband went to eat one of the pumpkins but said it was horrible cause it was so sweet. The actual cake tasted good but the filling we ordered was suppose to be strawberry but it was buttercream with specks of berry and no berry taste! read more

We had an exceptionally tall and amazingly tasty cake. Richard met with us to do a taste test and it was one of those things where each flavor was better than the last. Spectacular flavors. Then we did a draft drawing of what we wanted and Richard took that and did his version of the drawing since he better understood the material he would be working with. We ended up with a perfect four level wedding cake, with 12, 10, 8, and 6 inch round sections each six inches tall. I can't compliment them enough. And as a nice bonus, they offer a top section of your cake for the one year anniversary. No need to freeze yourself a piece to celebrate the first successful year. Sprinkles was recommended to me from a bakery that was not available to make my daughters first birthday cake. I met with Richard on the day I was picking up my take home tasting platter. He was very kind and appeared to understand what I envisioned. I told him I wanted the cake to match the colors of my daughters birthday dress so I brought in the dress and he drew up an idea and we decided to go with. (please see photos) My daughters birthday was on a Saturday at 11am and the studio was not scheduled to open until 10am. It was a 30min drive for me so I had limited time and planned it so I would get home just in time for her party. When I picked up the cake, Richard opened the box to show me and instantly I realized it was not what I ordered, but because of timing I had to go immediately and did not address the issue. The color was not right, the contract clearly said the top of the cake would be blush pink and some pink on the bottom. The cake had NO PINK whatsoever. Its was a beautiful cake but we paid premium pricing for the presentation. I was so upset that I had my husband reach out to them and the end result was that they would refund us $75 because per the contract they do not offer refunds when the cake is picked up and accepted. (per the contract the top tier of my cake was suppose to be blush pink) I had no other choice but to accept the cake as I was on a limited time frame as I was driving to and from Baldwin park. I will never recommend this place and I hope this does not happen to anyone else. read more

Our cake was packaged into our reception venue so while at first we were a little concerned because Sprinkles Custom Cakes location is way across town (and I4), our worry quickly transitioned to excitement after meeting the owners, getting a tour of their space and meeting some of the bakers (all true artists in wedding and specialty cake design, really remarkable masterpieces). Their website is super informative and organized, there are photos of the basic cakes of all themes and designs that were in our package with available enhancements. There is definitely a cake for every type of couple and amazinggg buttercream! Even though we picked a cake part of a package and have seen it before, our wedding cake came out unique because of how we were able to make little custom design touches to it. We were able to make each tier a different flavor and will get a fresh baked 'top tier' closer to our 1 year anniversary to enjoy our wedding cake all over again. I never would have known that Sprinkles in Winter Park also sells single cupcakes, as well as custom cakes, if it hadn't been for their sign advertising that $1 from each cupcake purchased went to a Haiti relief fund. Sold! At $2.50 a piece they are reasonable and let me say, HUGE! Unlike some dedicated cupcake shops theirs are not premade or very fancy. The day we stopped by they had several varieties to choose from. We ended up with Marble, Carrot Cake, Oh My God (Chocolate with raspberry swirl), Red Velvet, Cookies & Cream and Yellow with Raspberry Swirl. There are 3 icings to choose from to create your own cupcake: Buttercream, Chocolate Buttercream and Cream Cheese. What really stands out about these cupcakes is how moist they are. I'd have to say they are the moistest cupcakes I've had! As we waited for our cupcakes we checked out all the custom cakes waiting for pick up and they looked amazing. If their cakes taste anything like their cupcakes I'd definitely put in an order! They aren't cheap but they are beautiful! read more

YUM. I think that about sums it up. I mean, honestly, who doesn't enjoy a delectable cupcake delicacy. Tonight I had the pleasure of indulging in such a fine delicacy. A few months ago I was tortured by the sight of a tower of yummy looking Sprinkles cupcakes in a myriad of delicious looking flavors but was "watching my figure" so I didn't indulge. Tonight, however, I did. So worth the calories. I sampled a vanilla cupcake as well as a chocolate cupcake and followed both of those with a peanut butter and chocolate cakeshooter. We didn't have to think twice, he made us the most beautiful wedding cake - I vaguely remember he challenged me to taste his fondant, saying it was the best in Florida - he was a hoot. I remember apologizing & telling him I hated every fondant, even his. He still was very warm & told me he'd make me the best butter cream cake I'd ever have. He did, it was alternating layers of pina colada & strawberries & cream. We even came back a year later for our topper & presented him a photo of our cake from our wedding. There were girls in the back taking orders & selling cupcakes. My husband & I thought it would be a good idea to drop by & see if we could pick up cupcakes just for old times sake. I walked in the door was unlocked & saw a couple with a wedding planner sitting waiting for samples & they looked at me funny. I realized that it was now appointment only & I'd walked in on their appointment. What has happened here? They don't sell cupcakes anymore, do not take orders & now after just recently calling, there is a 6 month wait on cakes. The sign has changed, the building has changed, & there is no more of that friendly bustle. It's strange how much time has lapsed. We loved our wedding cake - it's been a bit, it's a shame we can't stop in to get a cupcake of it again (or several cupcakes for that matter), but the customer front is gone. I did happen to notice that the samples are exactly the same - small square shapes with little cups of filling for the flavor difference. I thought the owner was AWESOME and he makes incredibly gorgeous cakes. My only hang up is I only like buttercream frosting. I didn't tell him that I didn't care for the icing and since I'm an icing girl, it's hard to get me to change my ideas. Every cupcake I have tried here (and yes, I have made this mistake often, thinking it's just that particular flavor that I am averse to) is WAY too sweet, with a consistency more like pound cake and not a whole lot of moisture. I decided to try Sprinkles based on all the positive Yelp reviews. I picked up an assortment of cupcakes. The staff was friendly and service was great. I really want to rave about the cupcakes themselves, but I can't. While the cakes were moist, they were not flavorful. The icing too was lacking. None of the flavors I tried tasted any better or different than those found on a dessert bought from Walmart or Costco (and I find their desserts to be horrid). Great experience with Sprinkles for a custom wedding cake. Larry was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. He obviously has tons of experience, which really helped me (the groom) make some decisions. I really appreciated his customer service which many bakeries seemed to lack. Our cake was beautiful and so delicious. My wife and I ended up going with Yellow Raspberry Swirl cake with raspberry and buttercream filling. The fondant was very good: solid, but not at all gummy. Perfect cake!! We had a Winnie the Pooh theme for my son's first bday party and after meeting with Richard...I knew we had to get our cake from Sprinkles! He was so professional, organized and full of great ideas! After talking with him I was even more excited. He also provided us with a free smash cake (which I ended up eating because my son refused to touch it lol!) Our cake was 2 tiered (I posted a pic in the photo album) I did chocolate with Nutella for the top and almond with vanilla, raspberry and lemon for the bottom. It was amazing!! The cake was so moist and the butter cream creamy and delish. All our guest were raving about it. I ended up eating the left overs the whole week after. Hey - It was still fresh and delicious!! I also loved all the details that was on the cake. They made perfect little bees, honey pots and even wood grain strips of fondant. Very impressive! Thank you to Pavone Events and our hotel Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek for introducing us to Sprinkles Custom Cakes. My husband and I wanted to have a unique wedding cake that fit with our vintage style of the wedding. Richard did not disappoint! He created the most beautiful cake! My family and friends are still talking about it a month later. Besides the look of the cake it was important for us to have a cake that tasted great as well. At the tasting it was so hard to pick between all of the flavors with icing and filling options. We selected their amaretto cake with buttercream frosting. Their amaretto cake is made with his own house made amaretto which is to die for! We even bought an extra cake for our families to eat later in the week since they were staying in Florida for an extra week. We picked a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate frosting. I think of Sprinkles as the stand by. There is nothing wrong with them other than the staff is a little arrogant. They provide a decent cake but both the flavor and design is nothing to make you take notice. I had them do an anniversary cake. Just something very simple - smooth buttercream frosting with a fondant ribbon and those little dots to give it texture. They forgot the dots and the ribbon didn't actually fit the cake, it had gaps between it and the cake. Like I said it is a stand by and if I needed one in a pinch I would use them again. read more

Really good cupcakes and cakeshooters! We had them at Yelp's Fire & Ice Gala Event and they were amazing. The little vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with icing were so good! They had them stacked pretty high in a wedding cake formation on one side of the room and on the other were the cakeshooters. They were displayed in two big things that looked like lolly pop holders in a candy store that spun around so you could look through the different flavors to find one you wanted to try. They had them labeled and there was a list of the different offerings on the table. I think there were eight to choose from. Awesome and delicious! Sprinkles is the best cake makers in Central Orlando, hands down! My mother and I learned about them at a wedding show where we went back to their table about 7 times for cake samples. My fiance (at the time) and I sat down with the owner Richard months later and I told him exactly what I wanted for a wedding cake, but I wanted a simple groom's cake as well but manly looking. I put my trust in Richard and he did not disappoint!! My wedding cake was exactly what I asked for and the Groom's cake was so handsome; we received so many complements on both. I used Sprinkles for a surprise groom's cake to give to my husband a few weeks ago for our wedding. I initially spoke with the owner who was very helpful in giving me ideas, etc. I knew I wanted him to make a cake of our alma mater's mascot, (UCF Knightro!) and sent him a picture of what I had in mind and it came out even better than I imagined. I wish I could give this place negative stars. We bought a cake for my nephews birthday last week and we were extremely disappointed. The cake was supposed to be 'Pinacolada'. Yellow cake with an extreme swirl of pineapple and coconut, which tasted delicious when we tried it on the consultation before we bought the cake. So, we order this $120.00 dollar cake for 10 people and we were raving all week about how delicious it would be. At my nephews birthday party we cut into the cake and everyone looked puzzled, it was a simple yellow cake. No pineapple, no coconut, no nothing. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating. for 120 dollars publix could have done a better job. After paying $15 for six cupcakes I was handed ice cold cupcakes in a clear plastic container. The red velvet tasted as though it had been previously frozen and was in the process of thawing out! $15 for ice cold cupcakes. All of the cupcakes had a wet texture to them after further inspection!
