However, I usually only have a day or 2 notice or sometimes require a walk-in, but Crystal is a great men's stylist in high demand. I was relieved when I called Tuesday afternoon because I was able to make an appointment for Thursday with Raena, a new stylist under Crystal's wing. She did a fantastic job! At the end, Crystal made sure to come check her work and share her tips of the trade so Raena was able to bring it to perfection with a few more snips. She's a talented stylist and fast learner who I recommend! Details: After 40 minutes I was just as satisfied with my fade cut and beard trim as ever and the $15.00 price can't be beat so I tipped $20 cash on top! FYI cost of quality comparison: In Denver: I pay $35 haircut + $25 for straight razor shave plus tip for 60-90 minute appointment. In San Francisco: $75 haircut + $10 beard grooming or $30 for straight razor shave plus tip for 60-90 minute appointment. I came in for a line up and beard trim before an important dinner. Sam told me the history of the shop and why he and his cousin decided to go with the old school look. The shop looks like it's taken straight out of the 1920's or something. Very cool. There's a pool table for people to use while they wait as well as a bunch of magazines. There's also coke products in retro glass bottles too. That adds to the old timey feel of the shop. The line up was straight, and Sam trimmed just enough of my beard to still leave it full without it looking as crazy as when I walked in. I think he did a pretty good job. He used a straight razor for the lines, and I have to say that the warm towel afterward felt amazing! If come here again, and I recommend it to friends.

I told him to cut an inch from the front and blend the back. WELL, He ended up chopping off my hair to 1 1/2 inches and told me after my complete haircut - "I'm still confused as to what you want". This was him after I showed him a picture and explained to him in detail what I wanted. I say this as a person who knows more than a little biy about hair and haircuts as I was a college dorm barber for 2 years. My only recommendation to this place will be give Nate/Nick (the fluffy guy) a little bit more experience before he messes up someone elses hair.
