There were no issues with the fading that Mike gave me and I was very pleased that he got it right the first time. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the workstations they had need to be cleaned - dust and accumulation of what I think is shaving cream, is not appealing. Last haircut, the barber kept falling asleep while cutting my hair. It was bad enough, the head barber was throwing combs at him to wake him up during my cut. Somehow it turned out alright. Everyone has a rough night every now and again right? I was able to overlook it, forgive and forget. My luck ran out during my haircut today. Everything started out as usual, but quickly noticed that the barber was mumbling incoherently. The other barber even commented about it. Long story short, he butchered my beard into a long nasty goatee. When he realized it, it told me that my beard of nearly 8 years would grow back in a "few days." After several times allowing him to "even it out" and "fix it," I finally walked out and sadly finished trimming by beard off at home. Never ever go to this place if you want a sober person cutting your hair. I will never return. As angry as I am, I sincerely hope this guy gets some help before he gets behind the wheel and something tragic happens.

I came in for a line up and beard trim before an important dinner. Sam told me the history of the shop and why he and his cousin decided to go with the old school look. The shop looks like it's taken straight out of the 1920's or something. Very cool. There's a pool table for people to use while they wait as well as a bunch of magazines. There's also coke products in retro glass bottles too. That adds to the old timey feel of the shop. The line up was straight, and Sam trimmed just enough of my beard to still leave it full without it looking as crazy as when I walked in. I think he did a pretty good job. He used a straight razor for the lines, and I have to say that the warm towel afterward felt amazing! If come here again, and I recommend it to friends.

This time I told him not to touch my beard so he doesn't cut me again. I had about 5-6" hair on top and I wanted a low-skinfade pompadour on top. I told him to cut an inch from the front and blend the back. WELL, He ended up chopping off my hair to 1 1/2 inches and told me after my complete haircut - "I'm still confused as to what you want". This was him after I showed him a picture and explained to him in detail what I wanted. My son and I arrived for our haircuts a few minutes early and were promptly greeted even though they were not quite ready. A short while later we both took our turns getting done what we needed. Our hair was cut just the way we wanted, shampooed and styled. She did an excellent job and we will most likely return again and again. SportClips business model is the cater to men who get their hair cut more regularly. But they make you jump through hoops to do so. You cannot make an appointment in advance. You cannot chose the type of service you want in advance. I signed up for an appointment and arrived well in advance. The countdown timer on my appointment remained stuck at 3 minutes to go for 10 minutes. When I finally got to see the stylist I signed up to see, I wasn't given any option to choose an upgraded service. I felt rushed through the entire process. My time is just as important, and I'm willing to pay for extras. When I was sent a survey after the fact I told corporate that the people were friendly and the service was passable; even offering suggestions on how they could improve. The manager responded a week later in an equally rushed and very condescending email telling me that everything I suggested was wrong. I was going to be 50/50 on going back. Now, I definitely won't.
