I've been going for 11 years, Always friendly staff and they do a great job. One of the few around that can cut a flattop.

It was a fine haircut, nothing fancy. I would likely go back in the future. Just a basic barber shop read more

Great place you need an appointment most of the time they are busy enough it can be anywhere from 15 minute haircut or trim to 20 minutes maybe 30 minutes. I was a mess so it took 30 minutes. The prices are very reasonable. John Sandman runs the place they have plenty of magazines And they have plenty of bubble gum for the youngsters. My hand is too big to fit in the jar anymore. read more

This place is great, fast, friendly, very reasonably priced. You can walk in and be in and out within 30 min or so, really saved me a lot of time. read more

Reasonable prices. I recommend calling for a reservation, they take walk ins but can get crowded at times. They trim ears and eyebrows without being asked. They also do a straight razor touch up with warm shaving cream. They have a retiree discount. read more

Last few times I have come it has become evident the consistency is not there. Plus the clippers pull consistently and it's become more about quick output read more

If you are looking for a welcoming, friendly, and relaxing atmosphere, I would recommend this barber shop. I just moved to the area and needed a place to get a haircut and I'm beyond impressed with this place. Staff is talkative and have a great work ethic. I was nervous going to a small barber shop at first, but glad I did! 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the St.Joe/Benton Harbor. *Dan cut my hair and enjoyed speaking with him. read more

Sandmann Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Saint Joseph, Michigan

This barber shop is legendary. Old John, young John, and Neil all give great cuts. They will even clean up a beard or do a full shave. Old John is pushing 80 but don't worry he us still steady enough to use a straight razor without taking off your ear. Definitely worth a visit to the best barber shop in town. read more

Sandmann Barber Shop - Old John may be pushing 80 but he still gives the best barber cut in town! - Barbers Near Me - Saint Joseph, Michigan

Friendly staff. I got a short crew cut, but the barber missed some spots and had to touch up the haircut after I checked with someone. Still a solid cut and would recommend if someone is looking for a barbershop in the St. Joseph area. read more

Best barbers in st joe! Never had a bad cut, and they are always super polite and the price is amazing for the quality of the cut read more

I'm new to the area and I've been looking for a good barber in the St. Joseph area. These guys are very good and really know how to cut a head of hair. Price is $13.50 for adult male, which is a great price for the quality of the haircut. Made an appointment (Walk-Ins from 3-4), walked right in and immediately engaged in conversation with my barber. Spoke with him the entire cut, and had a great cut. My barber was very receptive to my request and haircut type, and he really did a great job. Prices are great, which gave me some room to tip my barber well. read more

These guys just knock it out of the park. I live in Chicago now and go back just for the haircuts. You will never go wrong with these men. Great skills and a strong work ethic. GO!!! read more

I was a walk-in at the end of the day (on a Friday before the holiday weekend!) and they gladly welcomed me. Good haircut at a good value. I will definitely be back. My only suggestion is that the old interior deserves a bit of renovation, more closely mirroring the pride they take in their work. Family business. Excellent friendly service, good conversation. Great location too. read more

Awesome haircut. Gave me many options for my haircut and felt great after. I really haven't been to many barbershops to base a standard but I'd still give the Sandmann a 10/10. read more

It's not a salon. It's not a stylist's boutique. It's a straight-up, traditional barber shop. My preference would be Old John or Young John, but all these guys have their regulars, so it's hard to go wrong. I've been coming here for years, as have a lot of folks in the area, and that sort of loyalty doesn't come from being mediocre at what you do. These guys are pros. read more

I was unsure about going here. I wanted to get a nice fade and wasn't sure that they could do it at a really traditional barber shop. I went there. It's an old school place, but they know what they're doing. Really friendly and I left with a great fade! That will be my place from now on :) read more

Great barber shop. I got my hair cut here for almost 10 years and they do a great job. I recently moved to Chicago, I've had 3 haircuts in Chicago at 3 different shops and I've ended with 3 bad haircuts. I didn't appreciate Sandmann until I had to try going somewhere else! I might have to travel back to St. Joe every time I need a haircut! read more

My dad has always gone here. He brought me here as I was growning up. Whenever I'm in town and need a haircut this is my place.

New to the area and have just found my barber shop. This shop came heavily recommended and it certainly lived up to the claims. I was a walk-in and Old John cut my hair in between his scheduled appointments on a busy Saturday morning. Will be back! read more

Doesn't matter which Barber cuts your hair here, always friendly, professional & ridiculously inexpensive. GREAT CUTS at a GREAT PRICE! I drive from Coloma, MI to get my hair cut & it's worth the trip EVERY time! read more

Great traditional home town barber shop. I've been in all four chairs and been happy with the results each time.

This is the best group of guys in the world. I flew in from the West Coast to be a part of my friend's wedding party. Things got hectic just before I left home and I didn't have a chance to get a haircut. The groom and I stopped into what we had heard was the best barber shop in the area and were not disappointed. When we first arrived they asked if we had a reservation, to which we answered "no". They then pulled out a clip board ( very well organized ) and after taking a look at it told us that if we returned at 1:30pm they could take us both at the same time. We went to lunch, came back at 1:30 and they sat us right down. They had some nice hunting and fishing stories to share, told a few decent jokes, talked lightly about politics and provide a very nice haircut. I always fear going to a new place, but especially since I was going to be in a wedding the very next day! These guys made us look great. In addition they absolutely refused to accept payment for the Groom's cut. Said it was a wedding present and they wished him and his bride the very best...I don't know what else I can say about this bunch, other than if I ever find myself within 50 miles of the place again, I'm stopping in for a haircut regardless of if I need one or not... read more
