This is a traditional barber shop, reminding me of what a barber shop is about. One visit and I have become a regular. Attracts a number of law enforcement and military clients. A down home atmospere. read more

This is my favorite place to get a haircut. The vibe is very laid-back. Troy and the other barbers are highly school. The staff here Support their community. read more

I received an excellent haircut. Friendly environment and people, makes you feel at home right away.

I would highly recommend! Super friendly and did a great job on my son's hair! Will def be back in the future!

No nonsense barbershop with great people. Cherie is my go-to for my haircuts. Knows my style and a special lady.

I've been going there for years. The clientele is a lot of military and law-enforcement folks. Really cool to go to a traditional barbershop sounds and smells exactly what they should be. read more

Best Hair cut for a very affordable price!! I use to go to roosters and spend $50+ for a haircuts which is outrageous. I will now only be goin go Troy's! Great service and excellent people in this establishment! read more

I was referred by a friend and the first time I went, I went to sherrie and had a amazing haircut. I then grew my hair out for the summer but went to get my hair cut again for my yearbook photo. my hair was down to my chin and about 5 inches long in total. I went to Andrew and had a very horrible experience. I sat down not facing the mirror, and asked for a little trim. he cut my hair and turned the chair around and i was stunned because of how much he cut off. I asked him how much he cut off and he said about an inch, but in reality he cut off about 4 inches. When I came home I realized the haircut was incomplete and I had to get it trimmed again to match the rest of my hair. read more

Best haircut in a LOOOONNNNGGGG time. I have had a flat top for going on, well, more years than I care to admit. Problem has always been finding someone who does them well. Finding someone who does them really well is even more difficult - especially when you're out on the road full time. Troy did a FANTASTIC job and I absolutely loved the conversation. I will definately be returning when I am back in the Baton Rouge area and starting to get a bit shaggy! read more

Friendly, competent and reasonably priced. Troy and his crew make everyone feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Military and law enforcement friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Troy's is a classic. He is a great barber as are the others. More than that he is an extremely nice guy! You will always feel welcomed even when it is crowded. It reminds me of the barber shops of my youth and is a staple in Baton Rouge. read more

Been a customer for four years.. Consistently good hair cuts, friendly conversations and an overall good and relaxed atmosphere. By the way Sue is retired. read more

My new go to barber for myself and now my son. I was worried it might be to soon to transition my son from the kiddie haircut place, but the ladies at Troy's have been great. They keep him occupied and do a great job cutting. read more

Troy's Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Great cut for a great price... Troy is a genuine guy who provides a great service at a great price. Barber shops are becoming harder and harder to find but offer a service that's becoming more and more expensive at similar establishments. Get a haircut and bear trim for under $30... good luck finding that anywhere else in town! read more

Awesome place! Glad I chose this one to go to when passing through town. Cash only though, just so you're prepared.

Great place to get a haircut. I've been going here for years for a military style cut and now take all three of my boys here for the same. Big supporters of military/law enforcement and you can see it right when you walk in the door! The best barber in the Baton Rouge area. read more

Solid haircuts. Really friendly people. The issue is they aren't open when they say they will be open. Whoever manages the shop needs to start sticking to the hours posted online and outside their shop window. read more

Great place for a short haircut. They are open early in the morning and are fast working, and do great work.

I've never met a sue there, nor have I seen any hair styling. All I see at Troy's is good old fashioned Barbering and it is my favorite Barbershop in the whole world. Ginger gives the perfect High and Tight, and the place is alway filled with talk of LSU football, Louisiana politics, and other "manly things" read more

Great place for a good ole' fashioned haircut! Troy specializes in military and police, but anything is done!

I like this place. Men's haircuts are $14. They're quick in and out and they do a good job. I have never had to wait for more than one person in front of me and I just show up whenever. Simple and good. read more

I found Troy's in 2013 via Google search. I was working in Baton Rouge at the time and needed a haircut. I lived 2 hours away and still drove to Troy's every few weeks. (YES, they're that good) All the staff at Troy's are super friendly and do a great job. It's like a step back in time with the vacuum clippers. If you're looking for a new barbershop this is the place to go. read more

Absolutely fantastic place. Needed a haircut while on vacation and they did a fantastic job and didn't have to wait but a few minutes

The barbers are very friendly and their work is good. What I impressed with the most was that they were still willing to take in guests despite after hours. Will be back! read more

Outstanding haircut. Quick and clean, vacuum head clippers, even vacuumed behind those small close cut clippers. A Ret. Marine GO was in the chair next to me and a Marine Capt sat down after me. Guess that kind of clientele would give a good review too. Cash or check ONLY. read more

Sherrie gave me the best haircut I have had since my former hairdresser died of ovarian cancer in November. Sherrie is wonderful, does a great haircut, has a lot of experience and is a very nice person on top of it all. Go see her, she's also a licensed cosmetologist in addition to being a barber, so everyone can see her - and they should! The shop was nice and clean the other operators were very nice as well, and if ladies can get over the fact that it's in a barbershop, they will get the best haircut ever for an excellent price--WAY less than it would cost at a salon. read more

I have patronized Troy's about 20-25 times in the last few years. You get a decent men's haircut there. I prefer Troy to cut my hair and when he is not in or if there is a time crunch i will go with Ginger or Sheila. However because the last few times I've gone, Troy has not been in and I get an inconsistent haircut. Today, 04-30-2014, I called and asked if Troy would be in because I preferred his haircut to others. I was told that they can't guarantee that Troy will be there because they don't make appointments. I can't guarantee I will ever return there. I'm going to give Bocage Barbershop a try. read more

Excellent barber shop, very professional and warm environment. People are pretty polite and friendly. My husband and son have their haircut here all the time. Ginger is pretty good with kids. So, i thought I would try too, being a woman I was pretty uncomfortable but Shelly made me feel very comfortable and bonus, she gave me a excellent haircut. She has pretty good hand, very talented, I suggested this place to my GFs. read more

Great place for a cut. AND the barber by the window is SASSY!!!

I really wish I could give more positive feedback about this place. I went there on the suggestion of my manager, who gets his haircuts there (I usually go to a chain, because of the quick turnaround time). The first cut I got (from the lady farthest from the door) was great; she even gave me her card and wrote down what number razor she had used on my top and sides so I would know the next time I came in. I went a few weeks later and waited for a very short time; the lady nearest to the door opened up, and I waved the person who had been waiting before me to go ahead, but he indicated that he was waiting for the other lady to finish up with the client she was with at the time. I wanted to do the same, but felt awkward, so I went to the open chair. I wish I had waited! My haircut looked terrible afterwards, and the uneven razoring of my top and sides became apparent within just a couple of days because I had tufts of hair sticking out from my scalp randomly, like they had been missed by the razor. The other issue that this place has is availability. They're only open during the standard workday, which means that if you work, you're not going to have much of an opportunity to get a haircut. Even if you try to go on your lunch break, sometimes the whole staff goes to lunch and just puts up a "Back at [X time]" sign, so tough luck if you planned to get a haircut that day! The people are very nice and friendly, and maybe only two haircuts isn't enough to really get a great idea of this place. Of course, if I had been able to get a haircut every time I went there, instead of finding it closed at random times during the day (even once on a Saturday, when they're only open for four hours!), I'd have a lot more haircuts to talk about. read more

I brought my two boys to get their hair cut and could not be happier. My youngest has some sensory issues and haircuts are usually a big deal. Our last experience (at a different place) was horrible. I will always go to Troy's from now on. They were completely patient with my boys and their cuts look great!! read more
