    Our Sweet Ruby Girl!

What an amazing team! I am more than impressed. I called them for my dog who was in terrible pain, my regular vet could not get her in even though it was an emergency. I called they said bring her in right now! While the treatment did not work and her injury was too severe the amount of compassion they showed in knowing how hard the decision to put her down was over the top. I am more than amazed by the care we got & I highly recommend this clinic, not only was Dr. Julie amazing all the nurses and admin staff were just as amazing! Thank You Troy Vet!

    My dog, Samson.

I've never seen a vet get down on the floor to exam a dog. That's exactly what Dr. Selbert does every time we come in. She treats our dogs as if they were her own. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Their prices are comparable to other vets in the area but I wouldn't go to any other place. You can't get better than this when it comes to veterinary care.

My dog saw Dr. Veronica Schwartz. My dog has a chronic illness and, on our first couple of visits, my impression of Dr. Schwartz was that she was kind and dedicated; however, after several pricey procedures, blood work, and tests followed by long-term medications--which were also costly (over $100/month, more than I can afford to spend even on myself per month)--I explained that my finances were strained and, although I want to do the best I can afford to do for my dog, I wondered if there were other medications that we could try that would be less costly. I was told yes, but they are not the best methods and, if I chose them instead of what was recommended (again over $100/month on medication alone), then this would be what they call "benign neglect" because I know that my dog could get better treatment of the illness, but I choose not to provide it. WOW! This is not how to speak to a patient/client. I would never recommend this vet or this hospital to anyone.

The front desk staff, the techs, and Dr. Trickel were all amazing and compassionate and treated my bunnies with the utmost care. One of my quad needed a molar trim. If I absolutely had to say one negative thing is that the wait time was a little long But that said it is a hospital and they take emergency patients so I can say if I have an emergency I would want them to take my baby right away. If you don't want to take a chance that you may have a wait time due to an emergency that may come in then you may want to seek more of a clinic type vets office. Thank you Hawthorne and Dr. Trickel

I have had to have pets put to sleep before and, even at the emergency vet, they've had a comforting room that doesn't feel sterile, with soft lighting, and seating. I guess I shouldn't have set my expectations that high. We were led to a dirty exam room with only a hard bench to sit on, had dog hair everywhere and smelled very very heavily of urine. I understand it is a vet's office, but I've never gone into an exam room that felt dirty before. After speaking with someone else who has gone here, they also reported that smell. The vet tech had a very strange demeanor and I understand having to protect your emotions in a job where you have to do this frequently but it was very uncomfortable. They took a very long time to return after they had sedated our pup and it made the whole experience feel that much worse. They had a very hard time putting in the IV, which is not their fault, as she had become very dehydrated within the last day. But watching them bend her leg in strange positions when she was unwell was very very upsetting. Finally, I called after 3 weeks of not receiving any phone call about her cremains being ready. They said it took about 2 weeks and I was trying to be patient. They told me that they had called me an entire week prior and had left a voicemail. I checked my missed calls and my voicemails and did not have either so I do not believe they actually called me. They may be amazing vets, I cannot speak on that. But overall, I was very sad that my pup's end of life experience was in a dingy exam room that smelled so heavily of urine.

When we arrived I was informed that the person I spoke to was incorrect. I would have to pay $120 per cat since they were newborn and this was their first visit. I agreed to that and left. When I came back to get the kittens I was hit with a bill for over $500 dollars for my kittens. That's not counting the shots etc. I felt like I was forced to purchase wellness plans to get my cats back. The wellness plans ended up being a little over $200. Then they charged for medicines which was over $100. My second issue is when I brought my kitten Octavia in to be sprayed they injured the poor thing. They used so much anesthesia that after several months she is still blind from the anesthesia. Their own staff admits this. Additionally, they rushed the procedure and she now struggles to walk with her hind legs. I made a complaint and they had a vet contact me and I tried to return the call but we kept missing each other. Then the staff kept saying she was out of town and nothing is resolved. My final issue is they claim you cannot stop a direct withdrawal and my bank said that was incorrect and that you can revoke permission.
