lazy unconcerned office staff with the attitude of they're doing you a favor instead of working for you I love my doctor, sadly she transferred to this horrible office. since then I've had nothing but problems. The app doesn't work. They "don't process refill requests from pharmacies". You can't request refills online because of the broken app and the front desk doesn't care about patients, the receptionists are rude, dismissive and accusatory. I had a physical in March. I assumed that my doctor just refilled all my meds then but she didn't. I needed one today so I called to get that handled because Troy Internal Medicine wasn't responding to the pharmacy. After a 20 minute wait a receptionist finally answered and was completely disinterested in anything I had to say. She was rude and dismissive, for no reason. She also didn't pay attention to what I was saying and got the name of the medication wrong. ( I found this out hours later ) A couple of hours go by and I call the pharmacy, Troy Internal Medicine called in every medication OTHER THAN THE ONE I NEED. I called the doctor's office back ( another long wait ), got a different receptionist and she informed me that the medication I needed came up on something called MAPS as being filled in March. I told her that it was last filled in January, read it from my bottle and she all but accused me of drug seeking. I was totally confused because the medication I needed isn't even a controlled substance in any sort of MAPS sense and I've been taking it for decades. she assured me that she would discuss it with my doctor. I call the pharmacy, they confirm that I didn't have it filled in March and ask the doctors office to call them, I call the doctors office and after another 20 minute wait I ask them to call the pharmacy. I wait another hour and call the pharmacy, of course they never received a call from Troy IM. This time the pharmacist answered and he said "they are confusing the medications, they think you are asking for drug A, which was refilled in March, ( and I've taken 2 of ) not drug B which was last refilled in January and isn't a MAPS drug so they flagged you as drug seeking for the wrong medication. FLAGGED ME AS DRUG SEEEKING???? what??? All because ONE receptionist didn't want to bother listening to what I was saying. She shouldn't be working with people and she definitely shouldn't be working with patients at a doctor's office. Bottom line: avoid this doctor's office. the ratings are in the toilet for a reason. read more

Called to make a new patient appointment but the receptionist was so dry and barely gave one word answers. She just generally sounded like they don't want or care about scheduling any new patients. All professional staff along with the doctors have great bedside manners. They are thorough as well as listening and caring. However, a lot of the staff answering the phones dealing with patients over the phone need a new kind attitude. Shame on the professional staff for not seeing this or turning a blind eye. The first impression is obviously an important one, and you're dealing with a snippy receptionist(s) over the phone makes patients want to go elsewhere. the professional staff should be taking a hard long look and evaluating their staff as well as looking at all their negative reviews. Kindness and understanding goes a long way and good luck to anyone new or ill trying to talk with them. I'm not saying they're all are bad, but the staff should do damage control to monitor the rude ones and weed them out. I worked in customer service for many years and never got snippy! read more

I have been going to this practice for over 25 years and I called today to see if I could come in to see a doctor because I've been fighting a fever for over three days and they said NO!! they said they couldn't have me come in if I had a fever. Really horrible service. I highly recommend that you do not use this office because they do not like to answer the phone. If you call to try to make an appointment you could be on hold for 30 minutes, but just end up hanging up the phone. Also, they have to schedule appointment really far out because they are so busy. Dr. Joliet Jr. at Troy Internal Medicine is an outstanding physician. He is highly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his work. His bedside manner is excellent - he takes the time to really listen to his patients and is incredibly patient. He is also very professional and takes the time to explain issues in detail. He is willing to take the time to address all of my concerns and is always willing to provide further resources. His office staff is also excellent - they are friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help. I highly recommend Dr. Joliet Jr. for any medical needs. I am not sure why people are complaining about getting in for checkups. The Office professionals seemed very flexible in getting time with the Dr. - I just needed to be flexible. read more

I have been going to this practice for a little over a year with only a few visits under my belt: 1) Annual physical (first visit) 2) A recent appointment to check out some heart palpitations I was experiencing. My experience has not been great really at either stage for several reasons: 1) If you need to book an appointment for a physical/yearly check-up it takes at LEAST 4 months to see a doctor 2) They didn't make a confirmation call to me for my appointment that I had made 4 months prior, so I actually missed my appointment. That's a long time to automatically remember a date/time and confirmation calls are appreciated 3) The women I speak with on the phone are usually not very friendly, rush through the call, act annoyed when you have a question or you speak at all and clearly just are trying to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. 4) When I see the physician themselves they also seemed rushed which doesn't make me feel comfortable with the care they are taking into my health... which is kind of the point. Unfortunately I think I'll have to look for another office that at least pretends to cares more, has more time to offer their patients and less of a wait time. read more

I recently switched primary care offices and I must say Troy Internal Medicine is a breath of fresh air. I was a little frustrated when I was informed that the soonest I could get an appointment as a new patient was 7 weeks but after calling 11 different doctors offices and. Wing informed no one was taking new patients, 7 weeks didn't sound that bad. Luckily for me I didn't have anything urgent that required immediate attention. My previous doctors office was a complete shitshow. The staff were rude, barely competent and hated their jobs. The first thing I noticed about Troy Internal Medicine was how friendly everyone was. From the person I spoke to on the phone, the front desk receptionist, the nurse and most importantly the doctor, everyone was kind and, patient and treated me with respect. I saw Dr. Rocco now on two occasions and she is a pleasure. She does not rush you, she listens to you, gets to know you and makes you feel comfortable. I immediately knew she would become my PCP and had to look new further. I really enjoy that they offer most services right in office so I don't need to go elsewhere for things like blood work. read more

My daughter has strep throat and I was displaying many of the symptoms for strep. Called to make an appointment to test for strep and was told it would be tele-health appointment. I communicated to the scheduler how do you test for strep via tele-health? Her response was we don't see sick patients in the office??WTF!!! Are you or are you not a doctors office!! Switching offices!! And I agree with many of the reviewers, wait time to have call answered is 10+ minutes. Additionally, I didn't have my annual physical in 2022, because they forget to send me mailer and no phone confirmation - mind you, booking a physical is 4 months out, and I had not added to my calendar. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Skoney for years. He is the best MD on this planet. He is wonderful and kind- he really cares about you. And when I've either gotten sick or bitten at work (vet tech here) if he can't see me , one of the other Drs can, or one of their AWESOME PAs! I have never had a bad experience here. My mother goes here as well as my husband. I absolutely love the staff here. Will you wait a long time on hold? Yes. I always felt Dr. Fraser came across as friendly, but not exactly caring. Good enough I suppose, but never an experience you would recommend to anyone. The last straw came today when, after waiting for over an hour and a half after checking in for my scheduled appointment, the staff could still not tell me when I would actually be called back to see him. No respect for anyone's time. I don't think it is too much to ask, that someone, anyone at all, at my doctor's office makes me feel that they care. Unfortunately, I've ultimately learned that is an expectation that Dr. Fraser and Troy Internal Medicine are incapable of meeting. read more

I received no call from either Dr. Biddinger or her staff about an invasive carcinoma biopsy test result. Was it survivable was all I wanted to know. An anxious few weeks passed waiting for an appointment with a surgeon, who took the time to explain the results of my ultrasound and biopsy in detail. Two days before surgery, I needed x-rays and went to Troy Internal. Dr. Biddinger's order did not state "STAT", so I gently tried to convince the front desk that I was having surgery in two days and the results were needed STAT. The staff forgot about me in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours until after the radiologist had gone for the day, so they sent me to Troy Beaumont. Four hours of driving and waiting time for a two-minute x-ray! This office is too large and disorganized, and it doesn't seem anyone is in charge. I won't be going back. read more

I had a New Patient appointment with Dr. Nicole Rocco and left feeling heard, concerns addressed and like I will be well cared for. Dr. Rocco gave me all of the time we needed to discuss my health history and concerns, and she offered practical options for addressing my health concerns. I was leery because of the size of the practice, which Dr. Rocco discussed with me to my satisfaction. Although I had to wait some time for this first appointment, she assured me that on a regular basis, if I call in the morning, appointments are reserved for "same dayers." If I call later in the day, I may have to wait until the next day for an appointment. This is reasonable. I did not wait more than 5-10 minutes before I was taken back and my appointment began. Just a side note, when I checked in I noted a memo posted on the wall for the receptionist with a protocol if appointments are running more than 15 minutes behind. This is a good sign. I have come to expect a wait when I go to a doctor's office. I don't like it, it's not right, but it seems it became the standard. Doctors' offices need to right this wrong and it appears that this medical practice is doing so. read more

Well nobody likes going to the doctors office but it's a necessity of life! This large practice in Troy has grown over the years but I believe still serving and trying to meet the needs of their patients. Healthcare has changed over the years and it's not easy. Best way to stay out of the doctors office is to eat healthy, drink lots of water and stay active!!! Get a physical once a year. Dr Dubeck is so nice, kind, caring and understanding. I've never really been treated poorly here by anyone.. if she can't see me for whatever reason. It's hard to talk to someone on the phone .. don't like that but now I just text her through their app!! It's great!! You can see all labs, documentation, reports! I love it!! Okay, if I was JUST reviewing my doctor, it would be 5 stars, no questions asked. Dr. Biddinger is the best internal medicine doctor I've ever seen, and that's why I've been with her for over a decade. The rest of the office, however, leaves a LOT to be desired. I absolutely hate having to call to schedule an appointment because I can't recall a time where I've ever been on hold for less than 5 minutes. And while 5 minutes isn't a big deal to most people, that's the shortest amount of time I've been on hold. And trying to relay a message to the doctor or get a call back is equally frustrating. Not to say that their staff is incompetent but when you have such a large practice with so many doctors, you need the staff to back it up. I have had to wait weeks for information to be sent back to me, have had to call several times and leave several messages to no avail. It is truly frustrating that they don't step up their administrative end more because they have a great practice and a wonderful office with fantastic doctors and nurses but the joy stops there. read more

NEW PATIENTS BEWARE!!!! Let me begin by saying that I am an MD with over 20 years of practice. We recently relocated to Michigan, so I asked my colleagues for a referral to a new internist and was given the names of a couple of physicians in this practice. So I called this office to get an appointment and was told by a very unfriendly receptionist (after waiting over 10 minutes to speak to someone) that only 3 doctors in the practice were taking new patients and that if I wanted to see a female MD, the earliest appointment I could get would be in March!!! And this isn't because of my insurance (BCBS PPO). When I said I would find a different practice, the receptionist didn't care in the least. Either this practice is too busy or it's mismanaged. I will be letting my Beaumont and Henry Ford colleagues know to NOT refer new patients here! read more

I am very, very particular. I know what I want. This fact remains when it comes to the doctor I use. After years of failing to find a physician who I trust completely, I have met my match at TIM. My doctor, Dr. Lockwood, is one of the most dedicated, sincere and understanding physicians a patient would be lucky to have. She has taken appointments with me because she wanted o see me in person, she has called me at home to see how I am feeling when I have been ill. She has been patient, spending as much time as I need talking things through. She doesn't try to leave a patient after five minutes to cram in the next poor sap and truly has concern for her you health. I have waited to see her as opposed to seeing another doctor in her practice - she is always worth the wait. read more

The gentleman in front of me not finding it turned around and left. The gentleman behind was confused and wanted to know if it accommodated more than 1. Started with Troy Internal before it was so large, and there are definitely issues with phone time. My experience with the front desk has been fine. I think it depends greatly on which doctor you see, how you feel about the practice. I now see Dr. Small, and she is respectful of your waiting time, as well as able to listen to concerns. She will make time to see you when you are sick. She is also very responsive with concerns and follow-through on the patient portal, via email. My husband is also satisfied with his doctor, Dr. Fraser. No doubt that Troy Internal is a very busy office, and there are bumps along the way. However, they have all the facilities for basic testing, an efficient lab and place for routine injections (which can be busy, but hey -- that's life) and so far I have found the telephone inconvenience worth overlooking for the rest of the package. read more

Asked if I should go to urgent care or the emergency room, and the surly receptionist told me she couldn't recommend anything. I have been going to this practice for over 30 yrs , My wonderful Dr Neuner ( the Angel) who left this world so soon. I continued due to my love and respect for him. My Son in law goes to Dr Frazier ( Wonderful) I do agree the front desk is chaotic and waiting on the phone for an appointment is no fun when your sick. However their are negatives ever where. I saw a physician at this practice for twenty years. I think the physicians are well qualified and in general the service is good. Phone triage has always been a hassle and unfortunately, their movement to their specific electronic medical record has not made life easier for the patient. 1) can't email dr 2) multiple rx errors with phone recording of requests for refills, and 3) sadly, the dr I saw became so absorbed in the electronic medical record that her one on one patient care slipped greatly. You'll be on hold for 15 minutes every time you call--for any reason--then be connected to a surly receptionist who may or may not pass on your message. It is impossible to speak to your doctor via phone or email unless your doctor calls you back, which could take days. Test results take forever to get too since they won't let you talk to a doctor and take their time calling you back. Way too many patients for their staff and mill-like environment. Some of the doctors are okay but the phones and the waiting and the impossible barriers between doctor and patient make it horribly impersonal and gives the distinct impression of a place that just doesn't care about anything but billing. Go elsewhere unless you're totally desperate and don't have anything too serious. read more

I was squeezed on Friday with Dr. Sinkoff, not my normal primary from the practice. I told him I had pressure between my breast bone and he actually said "do you think it's your heart" I replied "I don't know that's why I'm here". He did not do an EKG nor a chest x-ray. He listened to my chest and that was that. He said it might be bronchitis-told me to take zpack. When I was exiting the exam room I started to ask him s question and he said "We are done". The problem I am having is it takes so long to get mammogram results. Last time they made me come back and have more pictures and an ultrasound. Waiting for the results was very difficult. I called several times, was told they would tell the doctor to call me. Then, the weekend came . I was told I would get a call by that night on Friday. No call! It turned out there was nothing to worry about on my results. No one could have called and let me know this sooner? My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Neil Fraser for over 25 years. The staff is always friendly and very helpful when we call or need to see Dr. Fraser for emergency needs or general care. Dr. Fraser has always been very attentive and caring-- always giving us the best care possible. Phone calls are always returned quickly and if their is a need to speak with our doctor, he will call or have his nurse call to ensure we are taken care of. The office never has us wait and they can run mammograms, bone density, x rays, bloodwork on site. No extra trips to labs and outpatient services. The experience with the Doctor was fine, they were professional and figured out what was wrong. Not that it was a great mystery.. The problem is dealing with the staff. 1. they dont have email. 2. I left the office with a prescription and the 2 they faxed in, never got there. I had to wait 2 hours for the prescription that they didnt give me on paper. 3. i called to get a letter for work and then 4 hours later I called back and they told the doctor i saw was sick today and she had to write it. I have gone to this practice for over 30 years. Some of the reviews are accurate when it comes to wait time on the phone and in the waiting room. But we have never been treated rudely. When we started going here, there were only about 8 doctors. The practice is very large now but we have never had anything but wonderful care. Dr. Nurmi is the best. Kind and caring and always listens to you as a person and never rushes you. Sometimes you have to wait to see him but always worth the wait. In the years we have gone there, we have always been given an appointment on the day we called if we were sick. Not always your doctor but a doctor. My sister goes somewhere else and has to wait days to see a doctor when she is sick. Troy Internal has a great web patient portal where you can always view your visit summary or test results. All tests run by Beaumont facilities are also available to view on the Beaumont portal within a couple days. Most of our family goes to this practice and they, also, like their physician and have received excellent care. read more
